HOTEL Tomiya with M's
4.6/517 Reviews
Kyoto Station
A very novel apartment hotel. The hotel manager said it will only open at the end of March 2024. It is right opposite Kyoto Station. It is very convenient. The manager and service staff have great service. After checking out, we found that a wireless headset was missing in the room. , they dealt with it immediately and asked me to go back to the room to look for it. It turned out that my husband put it in another handbag, and we made an own mistake. I am very sorry. Their attitude in handling things and their service attitude are really heartwarming. This time I stayed in an executive suite. The room was very large and comfortable. I highly recommend it to travelers who are traveling independently for the first time or want to take a bus. My first choice when I visit Kyoto next time will be Hotel M's.
Ryokan Matsukame

Kyoto Station
If you are a traveller like us who would like some more privacy, this place is not exactly for you. Don't get me wrong, the hotel staff are absolutely wonderful. Just that most things are communal and you have wait for your turn to shower and finish by 11.35. The walls are quite thin indeed, you can easily hear people walking on the hallway or simply chatting in their rooms.
Hotel Granvia Kyoto
4.6/5241 Reviews
Kyoto Station
I recently stayed at Hotel Granvia Kyoto and wanted to share my insights on various aspects of this well-established local favorite. Location: A Hub of Convenience Situated directly on the station grounds, Hotel Granvia Kyoto boasts multiple entrances for easy access. While the hotel may show signs of aging, it remains a beloved choice for both business and leisure travelers. The local atmosphere adds a unique charm, and its proximity to Kyoto Tower, shopping malls, and transportation hubs within a 5-10 minute range makes it a convenient base for exploring the city. Cleanliness: Classic Comfort with Minor Dust The hotel maintains a level of cleanliness, although signs of age are noticeable, particularly in the slightly dusty rug and bedboard. While these minor imperfections exist, they don't overshadow the overall comfort of the stay. The hotel's enduring popularity suggests that many guests find the cleanliness to be at an acceptable level. In conclusion, Hotel Granvia Kyoto's enduring popularity stems from its unbeatable location and a classic appeal that resonates with both locals and visitors. The convenience of being on the station grounds and its proximity to key attractions make it a worthwhile choice. Although signs of age are evident and there's room for improvement in certain aspects, the overall experience remains comfortable, offering a genuine taste of Kyoto's timeless allure.
Matsumoto Ryokan
4/514 Reviews
Kyoto Station
I lived on the 5th floor. When I was cleaning, I saw every room on this floor. It was almost 10 square meters of tatami + separate bathroom. If it is a family of three, there is no problem. The 28-inch suitcase can be barely spread out at the door, and it will not be hindered if it is closed immediately after use. Breakfast is served on the second floor. Japanese style meals are delicious, but no more than a more sophisticated Japanese-style hotel. After all, the location and price are here - Kyoto JR is directly opposite, and you can see Matsumoto clearly in the station. The hotel has four characters. There is a public bathhouse on the ground floor, and the 3-4 square small pool is very comfortable and very few people. The only bad thing is that there will be a police car patrolling at 12 o'clock every night, which is really disturbing.
Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto

Kyoto Station
The hotel is very well located, just a few meters from the tower where below the very nice restaurants. The pleasant room, + large than in Tokyo. However, for breakfast, walk your way. For 1250 yens, you will find better elsewhere. The hotel is located in the hotel restaurant. We have a warm western breakfast with hot omelet, powdered orange juice, no choice of tea and I'm going through... We asked to make us pay back... impossible.
Hotel New Hankyu Kyoto
4.5/5302 Reviews
Kyoto Station
Came back and stayed for a second time within 5 weeks coz we loved the location, though it needs more amenities to be considered a true 4 star, like an onsen, sauna or indoor pool. The location is unbeatable though as it's located right next to Kyoto Tower and across the road from Kyoto station and within 2 mins walk from all the dining options.
