The hotel was clean and tidy , and room was adequate for our stay , bed was very comfortable . The staff were very friendly and helpful ,in reception and dining room .The Breakfast was a buffet selection ,self service , with Tea or Coffee, good selection to choose from .The dinner menu was also good ,with a choice of Starters ,Mains & Desserts ,all good wholesome food of a pub type menu. After a day out ,went for a drink in the Ossett Head Bar in the hotel grounds , nice pleasant ambient setting , this was the only time , it never opened again for the duration of our stay. The only other bar is in the dining room , and this was only open , during meal times , no soft furnishings , only dining tables . dont know if you could take drinks from there , into the guest lounge ,never informed. Plentiful supply of Tea & Coffee in room ,which you had to replenish from reception . i am now Tea Total & Alcohol Free after this mini vacation .

We have just returned from a 3 night stay for our anniversary. Beutiful building grounds well looked after. Great parking facilities, great location Staff are warm and welcoming and certainly not stuffy which is sometimes a problem when staying in a country house. Bar is superb beautifully decorated comfy with a lovely open fire crackling away. Our room, room 1 is a four poster room with views of the mere lovely old room not best location directly adjacent to stairs but none the less we loved it. Food we ate at the hotel on 2 evenings in both restaurants and the food is fantastic not a huge menu but something for everyone. Breakfast was great and we ate alone every morning 🙈🙈 due to being early risers. Location is also great bus stop at end of driveway so gateway to the lake district at your door we parked the car up when we arrived and never used it the rest of the time. The beutiful Highland cows at the end of the drive is a lovely welcome and we stopped by daily for a chat. All in all we had a great warm stay with lovely welcoming staff great food and drinks within lovely surroundings we will be back.

1. Location, the hotel is just by the lake, but it is a 30-minute drive from Windermere, and it is far from the Lake District. 2. Some rooms can accommodate an extra bed, 15 pounds a day, including breakfast. 3, the hotel is large and has a lot of parking spaces. 4. The meal is great, classic English. 5, the hotel toiletries are good, is the British Royal Development Supplies MB, the bathroom's heating rack is open in the summer, the towel will be done overnight. Great

Upon arrival we parked in overflow car park with no problems second day We managed to park out front. We were in room 5 which was well sized and beautifully laid out. Tea/ coffee making facilities, 55 inch tv, full length mirror, heating, small table and chairs which was nice to have for coffee time instead of having to sit on bed. Beautiful and large en suite shower room with a decent shower only fault was the bathroom mirror was to high. Easy keyless entry system if you like the personal touch this place is not for you,but to be honest we prefer to be left alone. Overall we loved this place and would definitely return.

Lovely stay at the Rothay Garth B&B! We were in room 17, which is a corner room in the front. It is close to the road, but honestly never heard much road noise. The room was large and comfy, and beautifully bright and airy. The bathroom was lovely though a bit small. The location could not be more perfect.....easy walk to town center and just a half mile to the lake. The breakfast was outstanding, and had both large traditional English breakfast, along with some other smaller choices. Plus you could adjust large breakfast any way you liked. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The front sitting room is a great place to relax, though they currently do not offer the afternoon drink advertised on their website. The parking lot is a huge benefit as well. I would easily stay here again on next visit.
