Preliminarily, nothing happened that was terrible. It just didn’t live up to the reviews. In advance of our stay, I received an email offering a junior suite upgrade if I wanted to pay $210. Given current pricing, this wasn’t really a deal and had I needed this I would have booked it. It was also not great because I have status with bonvoy and typically enjoy complimentary upgrades. This just means the hotel could upgrade me but was instead trying to profit. I did receive a slightly larger room according to the front desk. I was also asked if I wanted any gifts and if this was a special occasion. Again fine, but seemed a bit profit driven particularly since nothing else I said seemed to matter. I noted that this was our babymoon and was offered a pregnancy pillow which was nice. Alas, the special pillow I was emailed about wasn’t in the room and no one seemed to know it was a special occasion. We called down and it was sent up. It is great that the hotel has this. Eventually we received some cut fruit, a nice note, and water. I recognize that we are not entitled to anything, but the other reviews seemed to indicate that the hotel goes above and beyond. None of that happened for us. On the bright side, the rooms are beautiful and the housekeeping is outstanding. The bed is very comfortable. Everything you need is there in the room and it was very clean. Wi-fi was hit or miss. It frequently cut out for us which wasn’t great. We thought the other hotels we stayed at on the trip did a better job of making this a special occasion. This hotel is fine for business (hopefully Wi-Fi is more consistent) it just didn’t live up to the expectation. It’s a very pricey hotel and needs some extra oomph to justify the expense. Others have seen it, but we didn’t.

I was swept by the cleanness, comfort and calm that reigned there. It's a bit strange to check in and check out online, but I think it should reduce staff costs to be able to invest elsewhere. 500 metres walk from the electric furnaces and no problem to walk back to the night. Free coffee in the lobby is a more, as well as the beautiful tortilla that made us goodbye.

I was visiting a family for a few days and they put us up here. Ok, the location is very good: wonderful restaurants, lots of shops, etc., in the area. I lived in Montreal for 15 years, so when I visit now I'd probably prefer a quieter place less interested in selling us all on Montreal's uniqueness. Been there, done that. If you want a nice, romantic, stay at a Bed and Breakfast in the heart of a very interesting area of Montreal, this is it. Our host wasn't annoying, in fact he was helpful. The rooms had character and were clear and quiet. We also shared a bathroom with an adjoining room, which was fine. The breakfast was well-prepared (although I only had eggs and a bit of yogurt. Even so, there were better choices). If you stay in Montreal for more than say 3 nights, then I'd go elsewhere. The charm of this place is real, but probably fleeting over the long-term.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the long-distance subway station. The hotel is converted into a villa. The space is a bit small and the facilities are average. However, the boss said that it will be renovated soon. I hope it can be improved after the renovation. The boss is Chinese. The Chinese are still very convenient. Turn left and walk 100 meters from the hotel. There is a fast food restaurant opened by a Chinese couple for breakfast. It is very good, but the owner said that she would move to Vancouver immediately. I hope this restaurant can be retained.

Small but hardly ran into other guests. Walls were thin, though, so not a good place for partyers. The guests who stayed there seemed to be quiet couples. Staff were nice and accommodating. Asked for a clothes iron and was provided a steamer; helped look up bus schedules and directions. Wine cork opener in kitchenette. Breakfast offered a variety of typical choices (bagels, toast, cereal, boiled egg, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, muffins). (US single dollar bills OK for tips.) Safe, walkable neighborhood to Latin Quarter, Old Montreal, Chinatown, Saint Denis Street restaurants, Mount Royale Park. Would stay here again, but also lots of cute little hotels around. I think there's a safe that the front desk has access to keep your stuff, but didn't see one in room. Our flight was a couple hours early, and they were able to check us in early. Front desk is staffed 24 hours; key card opens hotel door at night for security. Couldn't get air conditioner to work but weather nearly perfect. Need to go outside hotel to a separate entrance for breakfast, but Thai restaurant food apparently made there and deliverable to room for dinner.
