Courtyard Temecula Murrieta

My daughters had a soccer game down the street from this hotel so I thought I would try it for a night. It looks like a newer property with all modern decor. Nice bar area and restaurant area with cold water available all day. The gym is a good size facing the outdoor pool area. They had EV chargers for my Tesla. The staff members were very nice and gave me a late check-out so my daughters could shower before we drove back home. The cleaning staff members were also very helpful. Starbucks is down the street about .5 mile. I walked there with no problem. This property is very popular with wedding parties for the Temecula area. The queen double room was very spacious and had ample room for a family of four.

Just checked out of a 5 day stay at the Hampton Inn in Murrrieta, CA. I usually like the Hampton Inn’s, but this was not a great stay. I reserved a Studio Suite which was large, but the bathroom felt like it was in the middle of the room and did not work for me. I had a king bed with a too small sheet that only fit down the side of the mattress about 4 inches. This resulted in me waking during each night on the bare mattress – yuk! Bathroom and bar lighting is intensely bright. The breakfast offerings were minimal – out of 5 days, only 1 day had bananas. However, the most irritating part of the stay was the need to negotiate housekeeping every day. During the Covid lockdown, housekeeping was not an option but it is now June 2022 and Covid restrictions are practically non-existent in Murrieta, except at the Hampton Inn. The first morning of my stay I went to the reception desk and requested housekeeping. I was told “no, this was not my scheduled day,” and that for my 5 day stay, I would get housekeeping on the 4th day (this was over a weekend). I objected and asked for just the bathroom and bar to be refreshed. This, the staff agreed to do. The next day, I had fresh towels, coffee, condiments but nothing in the room was touched. Each morning I went to the desk and asked to be refreshed. On the 3rd day, I was told the housekeepers were very busy and they would try to do the refresh, but no guarantee. On the 4th day, the room was fully cleaned. Prior to the lockdown, I am sure the Hampton Inn had a daily housekeeping service option, like every other Hampton Inn’s in which I have stayed. With this stay, it felt like the housekeepers had been eliminated during the lockdown and the hotel owners chose to reduce their staff and pull back on services. The rate I paid averaged more than $200/night, not a rate that should exclude daily housekeeping.

Our A/C at home went out during the latest heat wave in So Cal the week of August 19. I am a Choice privileges member and booked the room for two night stay for, one, to get points, and two, the only Comfort Inn in my local. We had a two queen bed room, sofa bed, and there was a fold up cot in the room also. The room was larger than the normal two bed room at the hotel, it is actually a room and a half. There is a frig., microwave, iron & board, coffee maker, wet bar, two tables, and an LG HD television. Bath room is rather small. The large open area between the wall with the frig. and the wall the beds are on, is very wide, excellent space for kids to play or set up the rolling cot that was in the room. Drawbacks; the queen mattresses were uncomfortable, the wall mounted A/C unit is too close to the foot of the bed closest to one of the three windows in the room. Not only did my feet get cold, but, there is not enough space to walk between the two. I found myself sliding to the foot of the bed to get off of it. Finally, the A/C was cold and maintained this cooling throughout the room. Also, this hotel had excellent precautions in place to defend against exposure of the guests to COVID.

What a fantastic place to stay when visiting Temecula. A very well-appointed hotel with many amenities. The rooms are spacious and like new with a very efficient design. The Marriott Bonvouy card is a plus as you can build points on purchases and stays to get free stays, etc. Nice kitchens and comfy beds. Breakfast, nice mini mart, pool, and other nice features. Close to Old Town. Highly recommended.
