My friend and I stayed at Hotel Villa Rivoli 10 nights during the 2023 Chris**as season & both of us loved it. The staff is uniformly kind and helpful – they really want you to enjoy the hotel and Nice. The Hotel Villa Rivoli staff knows the territory & obviously cares about their guests. It’s a small hotel experience that you simply can’t get in a modern rental unit/Air B&B. What could be better than the smell of freshly baked croissants? Les petits déjeuners (breakfasts) were memorable, and the staff is happy to prepare a hard or soft-boiled egg to accompany the buffet of meats, cheese, cereals and fruit. Breakfast is served in a special breakfast area adjacent to the sitting room with the fireplace. There’s a garden just outside. The hotel is very well-located & it's safe to walk around both day and evening. Hotel Villa Rivoli is close to the shopping district, only a few blocks away from the Promenade des Anglais, and about a 10–12-minute walk to the train station. Monaco & Cannes are a short train ride away. A few cultural tips: the hotel is a block and a half away from a charming old movie theater that shows a variety of artsy films in various languages. It’s within walking distance of the Old Nice Opera, which offers world-class performances (tickets can be purchased in advance, online, from anywhere). One consideration for those who are noise sensitive: this hotel was formerly an old home and the rooms are not sound-proof. We didn’t have an issue with this because our neighbors were considerate. The rooms are very nicely appointed and immaculately clean. We would be completely delighted to stay at Hotel Villa Rivoli again.
