Michelangelo Grand Hotel

Old Town Prague|0.23km from The Magical Garden
This hotel is in the historic town centre near Wenceslas Square and Mustek Metro Station which connects to all places in Prague. Although centrally situated and within walking distance to tram, bars, restaurants and shops, it is an extremely quiet hotel. The welcome we had was so warm and welcoming, different to other hotels I have stayed in, there is water and sweets in the area and a lovely Gentleman at the door who gave us a warm welcome not just the first day but always had a friendly smile for us every day and the reception staff are very helpful, especially the young lady who helped us to get to the airport. We stayed on the second floor number 123 which had a huge bed, beautiful linen and plush pillows with cushions too, it was decorated lovely and had a fridge, air con and coffee machine. The bathroom was big and plenty of hot water and shampoo, shower gel, etc. which was replaced throughout our stay. The whole of the hotel is spotless clean, well so is Prague. The breakfast, well nobody could complain about it as it had something for even the fussiest of eaters. There was fruit juices, water, coffee, an assortment of teas, detox drink, cereals, fruit, cakes, different kinds of bread and rolls, cooked assortment and cold assortment with the most gorgeous cheese I have ever tasted. Croissants, small and large with chocolate and jams and lots of different fresh fruit, tinned fruit, yoghurts and a lovely pot with different layers of chocolate, fruit and yoghurt. Amazing breakfast, my niece is going to Prague and I have told her to stay at this hotel as it just hits all spots for me.

Jalta Boutique Hotel

Old Town Prague|0.28km from The Magical Garden
This hotel is good, do not be put off that it is a former Soviet-era built hotel. It isn't shabby and the staff are very nice. The beds are comfortable and they considerately supply lovely, soft pillows, in two sizes so you can get really comfy. Bathrooms are well presented with L'Occitaine soaps & shampoos etc. The only drawback we found in the bedroom was that the bedside electrical sockets were not close to the bed, so it meant alittle inconvenience for us in particular, using a CPAP machine, rather than being universally annoying for everyone. The in-house restaurant, serving sushi-styled dishes is also good albeit expensive. Do not be talked into eating too much though, as we were and then landed a £100/head bill - but that was our fault for being probably too greedy after a long day's travelling. It's well situated in Wenceslas Square and you will find it more convenient than its position on a map may suggest. The Old Town is easily walked into. The only two things we were disappointed by were a) the breakfast area was, we think, because it was Feb and the hotel operating at half capacity, was effectively in their nightclub area. It's rather gloomy with the wrong vibe for your morning breakfast, even the though th ebreakfast itself is generous and with a wide range of choices. (They actually have a lovely conference cum dining area we glimpsed on the first floor but I suspect that is used when occupancy is fuller); b) the fascinating Fall Out Shelter located in the hotel basement tour was slightly spoilt by the poor student whose English wasn't quite up to par, so we found it hard to follow his explanations. It's still worth a look though, and see for yourself Orwell's '1984' novel sort of made real. Overall a good choice for a short break.

Booked a 3 night stay in this apartment in a studio room via the main website as this offers a later checkout time than booking.com. I received an email the day before travelling with a link to some helpful information and the key code to get in to the apartment (though the email did go to my junk mail). Location was perfect! The apartment is just a minutes walk from the metro station and a tram stop so it was really easy to get around and to and from the airport. The places we wanted to visit were not far at all so we did walk to most of them. The Franz Kafka Rotating Head sculpture is also on this street. The kitchenette in the room was well equipped with dishes and there is a fridge, kettle, microwave and small hob. The bed was large and comfortable, pillows a bit large for my liking but I am fussy with pillows! Only suggestions I would make would be: An iron A tea towel for drying dishes TV remote was a bit temperamental when trying to sign in to Netflix etc

- 5* LOCATION, just in the center near the astronomical clock, Charles Bridge and many more areas to visits . Get good shoes, the city is cover with paving Stones. - 3* FRONT DESK. Do not expect a warm welcome but they do their job. - 3* ROOM. Simple, well furnished , quiet. I tried to figure out in 7 days how to sleep with their half blankets. -1* CLEALINESS. (See pictures). We never had the room completely clean and made fresh. Vaccum cleaner and empty bottles in the hallway to our room during our whole stay. I wrote my initials in the furnitures everywhere so much dust all around. Walls in the shower and the head shower cover with mold. - 0* Management. (See letter). We came back from our daily tour to find a letter under the door. Imagine the humiliation for us. 2 nights prior my partner got sick during the night, I passed the details. The Management instead leaving a letter saying 《Can you stop at the front》 they summoned us like if we were disgusting. My partner is on terminal phase of cancer, he wanted so much to travel to Prague. I felt so bad for him to have to-go through that. It's our problems but imagine to be a women, having a kid or to be older, accidents happen when you run an hotel. Poor Management, unprofessional. Next time it happen if ever, I will throw all in a garbage bag. - 10 points divided by 5 bad situations give them a 2*

This hotel was perfect for our needs, in a great central location so within easy walking distance to everything. The check in was in a nearby sister hotel but only 50m from the Rokoko. They reception staff were super helpful have us a recommendation for some Czech food in a nearby restaurant that was reasonably priced and gave good advice on what supermarket to use to stop you paying over inflated prices. The rooms were admittedly dated but large, clean and comfortable. Room styles vary with some having a bath and some having just a shower and cubicle. A major plus there was always hot water and plenty of towels that were changed daily. My only comment is that they ask you to leave towels hanging if you want to reuse them but they had the habit was giving fresh ones regardless. The shower wash dispenser ran out during my stay but it was refilled promptly. I would say this a three star hotel at best but I think it was worth the money and would stay again.
