French Elegance Meets Spring City Moments in This Hotel
【New Urban Landmark, Carefree Stay】 As a newly opened boutique hotel in the heart of Kunming’s old town, the Kasion Hotel Kunming features a modern 10-story building housing refined guest rooms. Strategically located at the convergence of the city’s key arteries, it is within walking distance of popular trendy restaurants and just steps away from historic districts and commercial centers, offering both business travelers and urban explorers an ideal retreat that balances vibrancy and tranquility.
【Versatile Spaces, Redefining the Stay Experience】 The hotel reimagines traditional spatial concepts: a 200-person banquet hall with a soaring domed ceiling sets a ceremonial tone; a landscape pool surrounded by greenery blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors. The lobby lounge, filled with the rich aroma of coffee by day, transforms into a social hub for evening drinks by night. Additional amenities include co-working areas, private dining rooms for Chinese cuisine, as well as personalized spaces such as a wellness center, family cinema, and children’s play zone—catering seamlessly to business, family, and leisure needs.
【French Aesthetics, Naturally Infused】 With a palette grounded in black and white and accented by deep green, the design team blends French elegance into the essence of Kunming. Geometric lines define the spaces, where tropical greenery extends from corridors into guest rooms, and custom furniture harmonizes with curated art pieces. Each room features a viewing window, framing either the distant Dianchi Lake and mountains or the city’s neon lights like a natural painting—embodying an immersive “modern garden” living aesthetic in every detail.
"Pros: The hotel environment is excellent, beautifully decorated, and the room overall was good. They provide Yibao bottled water, which is a big plus. The noodle station at breakfast was the best. Parking was convenient. The gym is superb, with a good range of equipment for a hotel of this caliber, located in a separate glass room, which is lovely.
Cons: These are minor details that don't overshadow the overall experience. Poor soundproofing seems to be a common issue in similar hotels; I could clearly hear the people in the next room chatting at 2 AM, and doors closing in other rooms made the whole place vibrate; however, this seems to be an inherent architectural problem. Aside from the noodle station, the Chinese and Western breakfast pastries were very ordinary. The shower head leaked, and the power outlet by the desk wasn't working.
The service wasn't bad, but all the staff, including the front desk and breakfast attendants, exuded a strong sense of exhaustion and weariness. No one was rude, but it felt like they were overwhelmed by issues, just wanting to settle you quickly and get you out of the way. I suggest the hotel improve staff compensation and avoid overworking their employees!"
