If you want a quiet area where you can walk leisurely and relax from the hustle and bustle of life, Hengshan Garden Hotel is for you. There are plenty of nice restaurants around the area and a short walk to the park. The service especially the concierge and the cleaning aunties are most significant as they are friendly and most willing to render assistance. I will consider coming here again in Autumn for the scenic tree lined street.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Shanghai MGM West Bund Hotel and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a seamless check-in process. Especially Lucy from the Guest Experience team made my day remarkable. She made me feel like a valued guest and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. What truly impressed me was their genuine care and attention to detail. They anticipated my needs before I even had to ask, ensuring that I had everything I required for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It's clear that they take great pride in their work and are committed to providing exceptional service to every guest. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the guest relations team at the Shanghai MGM West Bund Hotel for their outstanding hospitality. They played a significant role in making my stay truly memorable and I highly recommend their services to anyone visiting the hotel. The hotel itself is a true gem, boasting modern and stylish decor throughout. My room was spacious, well-appointed, and offered breathtaking views of the city skyline. The comfortable bed, luxurious amenities, and attention to detail made me feel right at home. My stay was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. Also the housekeeping team, everyone was friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. The hotel's location is also worth mentioning. Situated in the vibrant West Bund area, it offered convenient access to popular attractions, shopping, and dining options. Whether I wanted to explore the city or simply relax and take in the views, everything was within reach. Overall, my experience at the Shanghai MGM West Bund Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's location is favorable, situated within the city but away from the main tourist crowds. This suited us well, as we did not intend to use the subway during our trip. The room and facilities were satisfactory and offered good value for the price. We stayed in a family room with two medium-sized beds, which was adequate for our family of two young children. We particularly enjoyed the mall opposite the hotel and the numerous coffee shops nearby. While the staff cannot communicate in english, they were willing to provide assistance when requested; we utilized Google Translate for communication. However, we noticed a persistent smell of smoke in the room and corridor at night. We understand this is common in Shanghai, as we encountered similar odors in taxis, public restrooms, and other locations.

The location is good, there are many restaurants around the area, the metro stop is close by when you arrive you may be confused because there are about 20 or so exits and some of the exits don't have an esklators , there are 3 lines that converg at the metro stop, even the locals get confused which way to exit, the rooms are clean, the staff is very curtious and very helpful, most of them don't speak English, I recommend you use a translator app, that helps out tremendously. Breakfast is sufficient, it is a mix of toast and mini croissants butter strawberry jelly and poached eggs and bacon and a piece of fruit with coffee or orange juice,or Chinese breakfast consisting of rice small salad with soup or porage Chinese boiled eggs etc. It is a minimalist breakfast, it is good and will keep you full till lunch.

My friends in China recommended this hotel and told me that she loves it because it’s relatively inexpensive compared to similar hotels in the area. She also stressed that it is a native Chinese brand hotel that it is easier for her to order food and just anything she needs. I was pleasantly surprised by its decor, service, cleanliness and modern amenities. Our room had a nice big tub, huge shower and toilet with bidet. It’s been a while since I visited Japan and I forgot how nice to have a bidet. The breakfast was a nice addition to our stay since it is included. It served both Chinese and American breakfast with some nice local dishes. The decor is modern Chinese Jiangnan style featuring paintings, Calligraphy, and 3-D animation of gold fishes. I enjoyed working out at the gym as well. Super clean and all equipment are easy to use. There is a Pilate room as well. I didn’t have time to enjoy it. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not to mention that I asked for a power cord, it was delivered by a robot. Five star experience! .

Uncle 002 is a very nice and helpful person in the building, i cannot forget his smile and passion to every resident when i got off the taxi right after my flight. Wendy and the team are very supportive, they always concerning your needs and inviting you to join the community whenever they have any events. It is a very good service apartment, definitely will come back.

It’s a brand new hotel, all the stuff are amazing, especially Vivian and Bob. They were very friendly and help me with all my expresses items. The rooms are big enough and the clening is everyday. First class service! Recommend this hotel!

The room was clean, except for some details like under the bed, where it was full of dust. The closet is small for two people to share and the space available for storing clothes/luggage is in general tiny. Location of the hotel is nice, as it lies in a quite walkable area, and by foot you can reach the Huaihai Road (good for shopping) in 35m. Metro line 9 is a 15m walk. The service was okay. The staff at the reception did not speak English and they offered no help or guidance about the city: quite essential service. Their attitude was in general detached and seemed quite un-open to communicating. Also, after leaving the room and realizing there were still some clothes left inside, I tried to report it to the reception and they just sent me to the room to check without even communicating to the cleaning service. It ended up that my clothes were not in the room anymore and the staff offered no further help, so I left without these clothes. Also, i had explicitly booked a room with “City View” and I was placed in room 1402 with one very dirty window - out of 2 windows available to enjoy the view. After asking to clean it, they made an unsuccessful attempt and then just left me with the dirty window without any kind of compensation. I was only offered to switch to another room in a lower floor and with no city view, which made no sense considering I had paid more specifically to have a room with “City View”. Breakfast is decent and offers a good variety of food. The staff is understanding if a host is taking few minutes past closing time to finish the food. The staff at the breakfast floor is also very nice and friendly. The main perk of the hotel for me was the cafè at the hall, where a very friendly girl employee works. She was very nice and gave me and my girlfriend some unique advice on places to visit in the city. She was of course also making extremely good flat white and coffee. Balancing everything out though, if was to come back to Shanghai, I would probably choose a different hotel.

The hotel is in a very good location, close to the 80,000-seat stadium and within a ten-minute walk to the subway station; the facilities are very new, it should be newly opened, the overall decoration style is very modern and intelligent, very good. The front desk service is also very good, with a good attitude and timely problem solving. I will stay here again next time if I have the chance.
