The hotel is conveniently located near both the airport and the train station, with a large shopping mall nearby. I stay here 3-4 times a year. Most of the rooms are clean, though this time I encountered dirty bed sheets, which the front desk handled very quickly. Usually, I don't eat hotel breakfast, but this time, because I was with family, I ordered it and found it quite good, especially the braised pork and shredded pork with pickled cabbage noodles. However, the cutlery was very dirty; a high percentage of the spoons and forks weren't properly washed. The tea bags and coffee in the room are delicious, especially the rose oolong. The front desk staff has always been hit or miss over the years; some are polite and attentive, while others are cold and indifferent. I've gotten used to it after so many stays. My biggest complaint is the showerhead position in the bathroom. It's simply too high and cannot be adjusted. It's been like this for years; can't they change it?

It's a bit of a walk to the subway, but there's a bus stop right outside that takes you one stop to Loushanguan Road Station on Line 2, or you can just use a shared bike. The room was quite spacious, with a balcony and a washing machine. The front desk even provides laundry detergent, which is super convenient. The main selling point is the price, especially for someone like me who doesn't need breakfast; booking without it makes it even cheaper, which is perfect.

This hotel has a very retro design, reminiscent of Japan's Imperial Hotel, with luxurious elements popular in that era everywhere. Even the elevator buttons feel like a control panel. The room environment is great; wall-to-wall carpeting, which is rare in modern hotels, is a nice touch. The only real drawback is the bathroom, which hasn't been renovated at all, and the shower is still inside the tub.

The location is excellent, about a 30-minute drive to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. Speaking of Hongqiao, this area caters to Japanese residents, with many long-term expats and business travelers. My impression was that a good number of guests at this hotel were Japanese. I'm not sure about dinner, but breakfast is served on the 1st floor and the 33rd floor (business floor?), and the taste is quite mild. Overall, the hotel is clean, but the facilities are showing their age. The bathroom floor would accumulate water, which was a real headache. However, when I reported it to the front desk, they fixed it immediately, so that was good!

The hotel is situated less than a 10-minute walk from the nearest train station, which makes getting around the city extremely easy. In addition, there is a large shopping mall directly opposite the hotel, offering plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. With these amenities so close by, the hotel is within easy reach of almost everything a business traveler might need during their stay. During my visit, my spouse and son accompanied me, and the room setup worked out very well for our small family. The sofa bed provided in the room made it comfortable enough to accommodate three people without feeling cramped. The room itself was spacious, well-organized, and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, which made our stay even more pleasant. Another highlight of the hotel is the excellent service from the staff. The housekeeping team was consistently friendly and attentive, ensuring the room was well maintained each day. The reception staff were also polite, welcoming, and professional, always ready to assist with any questions or requests. Overall, the combination of a great location, comfortable rooms, and attentive service made our stay at Hyatt Place Shanghai Tianshan Plaza a very enjoyable experience.
