Hotels in Hongqiao District, Shanghai

I chose the Intercity Hotel Hongqiao Airport Exhibition Center for this trip for two reasons: firstly, for travel flexibility, as my high-speed train arrival time at Hongqiao was uncertain and could be very late; and secondly, for the convenience of taking the suburban railway to Pudong Airport for my flight. Before the trip, I was already somewhat prepared for the complex route between the Hongqiao Hub and the hotel. 'Front desk agent Xiao Dong' provided guidance via phone and WeChat, giving my family and me a great sense of security and confidence – I'm truly grateful to her. The hotel's front desk and housekeeping services were excellent. Coupled with the fact that it's a brand-new hotel without the smell of new renovations and boasts an unbeatable location, I saw a 'full house' sign at the front desk during my stay, which is truly well-deserved. From the hotel, you take the elevator down to 3F, turn right, then right again, then right again along the wall, and you'll reach the suburban railway security check area. After security, take the escalator down, and you can board the train. This means you can get to Pudong Airport just a few steps from the hotel, which is incredibly convenient! Here’s a tip based on a past mistake, for your reference: When you exit the turnstile from Metro Line 2/10, the suburban railway is to your left, and the terminal building is to your right. You need to go towards the suburban railway. If you see a one-way turnstile, it means you've gone the wrong way. Turn back immediately, don't hesitate! Otherwise, you'll have to walk around the perimeters of various security areas just to see the hotel sign again. I vaguely felt that if you could find the suburban railway signs, you could also find the hotel sign/entrance. The downside is that food and drinks at the Hongqiao Hub are a bit pricey. Also, many delivery drivers are unfamiliar with the delivery routes. During my stay, out of three food deliveries, only one driver delivered directly. One asked me (I didn't know where electric bikes could park or how to deliver without entering restricted areas), and one gave up after being unable to reach anyone. Over time, more delivery drivers will likely become familiar with the routes, so please be a bit more patient. One more thing: getting to areas like the Bund and Jing'an in the city center requires 7 to 10 metro stops, which is a bit far. If you have time to adjust your schedule, it's not bad (I followed the trend and went to Jing'an Kerry to take photos of 'Summer Fishing'). Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

I frequently visit Shanghai, and this was my first time staying at Hongge. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the details, much like a Japanese hotel system. This includes the separate toilet and shower, heated toilet seat, and a water purifier under the drinking basin. The hallway even has a fresh air system, keeping the air clean. The soundproofing on the windows is also quite good. This stay really solved all the problems I usually encounter in Shanghai at this price point (around 300 RMB) – like hotels on busy roads with constant traffic noise at night, poor internal soundproofing, or strange smells. I've stayed at this hotel many times. Even when I'm in Pudong, I make a special trip to stay in Hongqiao. Recently, with the World Cup playing, the breakfast area has a big TV where you can watch the matches. It's so enjoyable to eat breakfast, drink coffee, and watch the World Cup all at the same time. Plus, on weekends, breakfast doesn't end until 11 AM, which is much more flexible than other hotels, so you can sleep in a bit without any problem. Check-in is also very fast. Right outside the hotel entrance, there's a takeout locker, so even if you're grabbing a late-night snack, it's just a few steps away. What really deserves a shout-out is Tom, the front desk/concierge manager. He's warm and polite and even helped me send a package. Honestly, every time I stay here, I find so many good things to praise about this hotel! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I visited Shanghai during the rainy season and chose to stay at the Mercure hotel for the first time, and everything went smoothly. Check-in was a breeze, and the room was clean, comfortable, and free from stuffiness, dampness, or any odd smells. If I needed laundry done, I'd just place my clothes in the laundry bag, hang it outside the door, make a call, and a staff member would come collect it. Within an hour or so, my clean, warm, and dry clothes would be returned – super convenient! I wish I had known, I would have packed fewer clothes. Food deliveries were brought up by a robot, so I didn't have to go to the lobby to pick them up. The room also came with four complimentary bottles of water, tea bags, and drip coffee. But I especially want to rave about the breakfast buffet (see picture below). I'd come back again just for the food; I seriously regret not having a bigger stomach, haha! Plus, all the staff were polite and professional. My stay was excellent, I honestly can't find a single fault.

I used to stay here often over 20 years ago, and coming back now, it still feels so familiar. The facilities are very well-maintained, and even though the hotel's name has changed, the service and cleanliness are still top-notch! The hotel's location is excellent; whether for leisure or business, the surrounding area is very convenient for dining, entertainment, and shopping. The hotel's breakfast is also good, and perhaps because many guests are international, I absolutely loved the row of coffee machines in the restaurant! 💕 I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai. ❤️

I've been traveling for over a decade and rarely leave hotel reviews, but I just have to talk about this place: 1. **Great Location**: It's super convenient, very close to the subway entrance. I was surprised that it only took about 20 minutes to get to Hongqiao from the hotel's breakfast area, and there was no traffic either. 2. **Excellent Environment**: The hotel's atmosphere is lovely, and my child really enjoyed it. The breakfast spread was also fantastic. 3. **Friendly Service**: The front desk staff, including the ladies at the breakfast restaurant, were all incredibly friendly and helpful. 4. **Amazing Value**: The best part is the excellent value for money; it's affordable and practical. 5. **Amenities Nearby**: There are plenty of great restaurants and shopping options around the hotel. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

This last-minute booking at WEJOY Hotel truly exceeded my expectations, I have to praise it! The room was incredibly clean, not a speck of dust in any corner, and the bedding was soft and comfortable for a good night's sleep. The full smart home control system was very convenient to use, no need to search for switches. All the staff were very gentle and kind. Check-in and check-out were quick, and requests were handled promptly. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, and it's very close to Hongqiao Airport and the exhibition center, making travel super convenient. The overall facilities are new, and it offers excellent value for money. I will definitely choose this place again next time I'm in the area!

I highly recommend this hostel! The location is unbeatable, just a 400-meter walk to Weining Road Metro Station, making transfers and getting around incredibly convenient. Right outside, you'll find Binggu Plaza, which has everything you need for dining, entertainment, and shopping, so you don't have to go far for meals or leisure. The interior design is trendy and minimalist, with a futuristic vibe. The common areas are clean and bright, and the bathrooms are regularly cleaned with no unpleasant odors. Each bed comes with a private blackout curtain, a USB charging port, and a reading light. When you pull the curtain, it creates your own private space, ensuring an undisturbed rest. The bedding is changed for every guest, making for a great sleeping experience, and the price is very affordable. The front desk staff are kind and patient. It's perfect whether you're traveling solo, on a short business trip, or a student needing temporary accommodation. Overall, it's a five-star experience that's definitely worth recommending!

Booked a twin room with a friend, and it was fully equipped and very comfortable. The staff were all very nice and would even greet us proactively. The room came with a sofa, a desk, and a chair, so there was always somewhere to sit even if we didn't want to sit on the bed. I've stayed in hotels before where there was only one chair, which I found inconvenient. Overall, it was a great experience.

What a gem of a hotel I found for my business trip to Shanghai! The best part is definitely the location. It's just a 10-minute walk to Loushanguan Road Metro Station, which is only 4 stops from Hongqiao Airport. You can also get directly to Lujiazui and Pudong Airport from there. Eating and shopping options are super convenient too, with three or four malls within a 10-minute walk. The room itself was really spacious, and everything felt brand new. The hotel has a gym, pool, business center... The bedding was fantastic, the room was quiet, and I slept soundly all night long.
