The hotel's location is convenient, making travel and sightseeing very easy. The breakfast quality was great, with fresh and authentic Chinese dishes, pastries, and dairy products. Overall, my trip and stay were secure and comfortable. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time and highly recommend it! The wooden floors, bathed in soft light, complement the clean and refined bathroom. A day spent here feels utterly relaxed and unhurried. Breakfast is simple yet nourishing. Warm soy milk soothes the stomach, while corn, sweet potatoes, and steamed buns provide ample carbs. Stir-fried seasonal vegetables, alongside braised meats and nuts, offer a balanced and wholesome meal, preparing you for the day ahead. In the afternoon, I headed to the hotel's pool for a refreshing swim. The crystal-clear water shimmered with ripples. Underwater, the water enveloped my body, stretching my shoulders and back, relieving the fatigue from prolonged sitting. Switching to breaststroke, the kicking and pulling stretched my core and limbs, my heart and lungs rising and falling rhythmically. Sweat dissipated with the water, washing away all my accumulated weariness. After my swim, I moved to ”Xiji Gangjiu” to try some Cantonese dim sum. Each dish was a delight. Garlic oysters are nourishing and rich in protein, while spring onion chicken replenishes vital energy. Fresh shrimp and coriander dumplings are light and appetizing. Beef balls with choi sum provide excellent protein and dietary fiber, and the two-tone water chestnut cake is delightfully sweet and refreshing. The combination of seafood, poultry, vegetables, and grains was well-balanced—fresh, not greasy, and wonderfully wholesome. A dip in the 'azure waters' stretched my muscles and bones, a 'Cantonese feast' nourished my body, and the elegant room provided a sanctuary for my mind. With a perfect blend of activity and rest, and nourishing food, a day of leisure at Donghu Hotel brought a deep sense of peace, relaxation, and freedom.

The hotel's location is a major plus, with several attractions concentrated nearby, most within an average 15-minute walk, which is super convenient for sightseeing. The standard double room was a bit small but had all the necessary facilities and was kept clean. The service was decent, and there were plenty of dining options in the area. Overall, the value for money is acceptable.

A fairytale castle with a century of history, located in the city center yet surprisingly quiet. The environment is top-notch. At 10 AM, the hotel offers a free guided tour which was excellent; the guide spoke clearly, at a comfortable pace, and it wasn't just an empty narration. Both the front desk and room service staff were warm and attentive. A very satisfying stay, especially with kids.

The soundproofing, bedding, and toiletries show attention to detail. It offers a quiet atmosphere for business discussions and thoughtful amenities for families with children, ensuring a relaxing and healing travel experience. The experience far surpasses others in the same price range, offering incredible value for money. It will be my first choice for future trips, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Even though the staff were friendly and diligent, the room itself was genuinely bad. My hasty choice really didn't pay off. The promotional photos were a far cry from reality. If I had known beforehand that the window was this tiny, I definitely wouldn't have booked it. The room's ceiling was very low and oppressive. After getting out of the elevator, you still had to climb a steep set of stairs. As soon as I opened the door, I was hit by dampness and a foul smell – perhaps it had something to do with the typhoon? I can't be sure. I tried the AC's cooling, heating, and dehumidifying functions, but to little effect. The moment I walked in, I just wanted to leave, but I gritted my teeth and stayed because I didn't want to waste my money.

This hotel is super conveniently located right next to the Dashijie subway station, making it easy to get around to places like People's Square, Nanjing Road, and Jing'an Temple. Plus, Yunnan Road Food Street is just a stone's throw away. The hotel itself has a charming 'old money' vibe, full of character. This time, my room was spotless, the soundproofing was excellent, and I had a lovely view of the Art Park. The hotel breakfast also offers local specialties, and the xiaolongbao were quite good. There's a laundry room with a washer and a dryer, but they were a bit complicated to operate, so I hope they can improve that.

I came specifically to stay here for two nights, having heard great things, and I truly experienced the professionalism, warmth, attentiveness, and courtesy of a top-notch hotel. I enjoyed the cleanliness, tranquility, comfort, and a wonderfully unconstrained sense of relaxation. I believe the Garden Hotel has a strong competitive edge in Shanghai, characterized by its approachability and welcoming atmosphere.

The hotel’s location is excellent, right in the city center, making it very convenient to get around. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and provided clear information throughout my stay. The room itself was fairly average and a bit smaller than I expected. I had to change rooms twice, but unfortunately both rooms had the same issue. There was an unpleasant smell coming from either the water or the sink drain, which affected the overall experience. The bathroom does not have a bidet. I visited during a typhoon, so I didn’t have the chance to take many photos. Overall, the location is definitely the hotel’s biggest advantage.
