It was overall a great stay. The lobby is cozy, fragrant and dimly lit with soft yellow lighting. The room is not very big but there was enough space to move around comfortably. Love the shower with instant heating and water temperature digitally displayed and the hairdryer has good wind strength. The toilet seat is electronically kept warm and wash basin tap comes with hot water, which really made a difference during cold weather. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with variety enough for a nutritious start to the day. The noodles made by the robot was unexpectedly quite tasty. The complimentary late night porridge was also a warm touch to end the day for guests. There are books spread out throughout the public spaces for guests to borrow (all Chinese books though). The location is rather convenient, about 10-15min walk to 2 metro stations, Jing An Temple Station and Nanjing West Rd station, lots of eateries nearby and a few shopping malls like Kerry Centre are also within walking distance, plus the beautiful Jing An Temple of course. Special thanks to the kind staff named Weekend (Zhou Mo) who extended complimentary late check out till 4pm in view of my late flight.
The hotel was very comfortable to stay in. The bed and pillows were cozy, and the blackout curtains effectively blocked out light. The air conditioning was cool and adjustable. I stayed for a total of 6 nights. Although the hotel staff couldn’t speak English, they were kind and tried their best to communicate. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day.
The bathroom was automatic, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. But everything else exceeded my expectations. Complimentary drinks like water, cola, and Sprite were unlimited. Popcorn, tea, and coffee were also provided for free.
The hotel is small, with only 3 floors. There’s a projector, but it only displays content in Chinese, so I couldn’t understand it. The hotel is actually closer to Middle Huaihai Road Station than West Nanjing Station—both are within a relaxed walking distance, just about one traffic light away. Both stations are located in very walkable areas, with lots of cute shops and a calm vibe, unlike the busy pedestrian zone around East Nanjing Road.
The area around the hotel becomes a nightlife spot in the evening, so there are lots of people around and it doesn’t feel deserted.
Amazing place with great location. Stayed here twice already and planning to stay again. Sometimes got noisy neighbors, but always got my earplugs just in case. Love it here, the style, the cleanliness, the stuff. Thank you!

As a business traveller, when I go to a hotel, I crave familiarity, as there are often enough surprises at work. At the Radisson Xing Guo, I had high expectations, check-in process was smooth and the room was nice. However, when I came back after work, the dirty cups were still inside my room and when I called down to front desk, they sent replacement glasses from room service without any spoons after a long wait. On my second day returning from work, there was only half the normal nunber of bottles of water. The continuous little errors were unfortuante as I never knew what else would go wrong. Hotel overall was nice, and should definitely spend more time training room servicing staff.
The most comfortable hotel I stayed in when I was on a business trip in Shanghai. It is very close to the company. I saw the photos online and thought it was okay, so I booked it.
It felt very good to stay here. The hotel is like a villa or a garden. There is a large yard where you can park your car. It is also very well isolated from the noise of the road and it is quite quiet;
The room is very spacious. I like the washbasin very much. It is particularly bright and spacious. The toilet can be heated by itself, which is more comfortable when it is cold;
I recommend you to try the breakfast. It is a very warm and stylish restaurant with rich dishes and very comfortable to eat!
Overall, I am quite satisfied and will stay there again next time I go on a business trip!
Outstanding services, staffs extremely friendly and helpful, great attitude. Thank you the elderly aunty always helped us to dry and folded our clothes after done washing. My gratitude to all reception staff and housekeeping person.
Room has complimentary coke & bottles green teas, at night 9:30pm has porridge at dining area L3.
Washing machine, dryer machine and ironing board are definitely plus points, as comfortable as own home. Room is equipped with high tech facilities. Warm toilet seat, automatic curtains, working table, dyson look like hair dryer. International sockets, usb charging.
Location is around old shop house and restaurant, luckin/starbuck coffee, family mart, few minutes away is subway exit 5 link to line 14 and line. Easy to get around or walk 18 mins to Nanjing Pedestrians Walking Street and The Bund.
What i don’t like the most is the road of location, look old, but for all the service mentioned above its worth to go back staying again if go Shanghai.
This is a newish hotel targeting the younger business/leisure travellers in China, the employees were all friendly and helpful, the room and amenities were adequate, clean and functional, the location was central. Overall I have had a lovely stay, will return.
After the Mariah Carey concert, myself and my friend booked a room at the Howard Johnson. We got upgraded to the 16th floor which was fantastic because this floor has Nescafé Espresso coffee machines. We loved this spacious room, copious bottles of water and the l’occitane toiletries. Thanks to Maggie for help with our food delivery! It’s a home away from home and I will never falter to book again.
The location was great. Breakfast had a lot of options. Loved the modern room and amenities. Their blow drier was imitating the Dyson but worked just as well as my Dyson blow drier from home. Even though we didn't use the laundry facilities, it looked the nicest of all the 4-star hotels we stayed at and the availability was displayed on our room's tv screen. Highly recommend and would stay again!
It was a nice hotel to stay, close to the train station and walking distance to a lot of local shops and restaurants. The hotel entrance is a bit inconvenient to get to, but someone was at the entrance to help us with carrying the suitcases to the lift. The reception is on the 6th floor. There are laundromat available and you can rent vinyls to your room, just need to pay the deposit. The room is spacious and has everything we need. The bed was comfortable, I personally don't like soft beds and it was perfectly fine. The staff doesn't speak English at all but they were helpful and we managed to communicate with them with just google translate. We also like that their checkout time is later than most hotels and we also get to leave our suitcases there to explore more of the city before our departure.

GGuest UserThe experience is very good. You can reach Wutong District when you go out. It is in the city center. Next to it is Sinan Mansion and the former residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The subway station is also very close, about 10 minutes' walk. It is very convenient to go anywhere. There are two large beds, a sofa and a projector, which are very comfortable. The community is full of former residences of celebrities and has a strong cultural atmosphere. The housekeeper Andy said that this is a typical Shanghai-style building, which is indeed very distinctive. The red brick exterior wall is very beautiful, and the interior decoration is also in the style of the Republic of China. The housekeeper is very nice, the service is thoughtful, and the reply is very fast. It will be my first choice next time I come to play. Recommended!
SSoloTravelAnnaI had a lovely two-night stay at this hotel over the weekend! It’s super convenient, just a short walk from Changshu Road station on Line 7 and Line 1, and only about 10 minutes to Shanghai Library station on Line 10.
When I arrived at 11 PM, I found it a bit tricky to locate the entrance, but then I noticed a big lemon 🍋 outside the building—just hop in the elevator there!
The room was cozy and inviting, perfect for a good night’s sleep. It was dark and peaceful at night, which I really appreciated. The bathroom was clean and well-kept, and there was always a friendly staff member around to help out. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which was a nice touch!
You can do laundry on-site, and they have hairdryers available during the day—just keep in mind they’re not out at night. Overall, it was a great experience!
GGuest UserThe room was OK. The experience was good on the first two days, but average on the third day. The service attitude was super good. The surrounding area was a residential area, and we didn't know how to walk at first, so we walked a long way. In fact, it is very close to Jing'an Temple subway station, and it takes about 10 minutes including the time to wait for the traffic light. Very close to Jing'an Temple!
I found that there are so many traffic lights in Shanghai...
KKaixinyouThe room is large and tidy, and the street is outside the second-floor window, which is suitable for friends who like the style of old houses. The key is the excellent location, surrounded by Anfu Road, Wukang Road and Changle Road, you can go shopping at any time, especially to feel the quiet shade of the sycamore trees at night, the experience is full!
AAnonymous UserThe location is superb. Metro and shops are all extremely near. However the space is actually quite small and a bit hard to find. Asking around will help you find the hostel easily.
The room is quite small and best for travellers travelling light. I had some trouble with a large suitcase as there's not enough space to open it.
Staffs were super super friendly and accomodating. They were willing to help and assist.
GGuest UserDown side: there's bed bugs found on both of the beds even though the person in charge was quite helpful and even helped us changed the sheets and covers at midnight when we found the bed bugs and the sheets has a little bit of the cigarette/smoke smell but overall cleanliness still needs improvement. The wall outside of the toilet were black and has mold like spots on them. The room needs more light even with all the lights on it was still a little bit dark. Good side: it's near the metro and bus stop, super good location easy to take the public transport and go around shanghai. It's also a 10 min car ride to the shanghai railway train station perfect for those who plan to go outside of the city. They do provide a water station for you to refill your water either hot or room temperature. There's also air conditioning provided in the room that also act as a heater.
