An unexpectedly great stay! The room was clean, hygienic, and not at all damp. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, completely contrary to some of the negative reviews I'd read. There's some renovation work happening nearby (see pic 4), which I was warned about when booking, but even as a light sleeper, I wasn't bothered by it at all. The location is excellent, with lots of international guests, making it a perfect choice for business travelers!

《A Leisurely Day at Donghu: Relax, Swim, and Savor》 Donghu Hotel offers elegant twin rooms that are warm and tranquil. The wooden floors, bathed in soft light, complement the clean and refined bathroom. A day spent here feels utterly relaxed and unhurried. Breakfast is simple yet nourishing. Warm soy milk soothes the stomach, while corn, sweet potatoes, and steamed buns provide ample carbs. Stir-fried seasonal vegetables, alongside braised meats and nuts, offer a balanced and wholesome meal, preparing you for the day ahead. In the afternoon, I headed to the hotel's pool for a refreshing swim. The crystal-clear water shimmered with ripples. Underwater, the water enveloped my body, stretching my shoulders and back, relieving the fatigue from prolonged sitting. Switching to breaststroke, the kicking and pulling stretched my core and limbs, my heart and lungs rising and falling rhythmically. Sweat dissipated with the water, washing away all my accumulated weariness. After my swim, I moved to ”Xiji Gangjiu” to try some Cantonese dim sum. Each dish was a delight. Garlic oysters are nourishing and rich in protein, while spring onion chicken replenishes vital energy. Fresh shrimp and coriander dumplings are light and appetizing. Beef balls with choi sum provide excellent protein and dietary fiber, and the two-tone water chestnut cake is delightfully sweet and refreshing. The combination of seafood, poultry, vegetables, and grains was well-balanced—fresh, not greasy, and wonderfully wholesome. A dip in the 'azure waters' stretched my muscles and bones, a 'Cantonese feast' nourished my body, and the elegant room provided a sanctuary for my mind. With a perfect blend of activity and rest, and nourishing food, a day of leisure at Donghu Hotel brought a deep sense of peace, relaxation, and freedom.

The hotel's location is a major plus, with several attractions concentrated nearby, most within an average 15-minute walk, which is super convenient for sightseeing. The standard double room was a bit small but had all the necessary facilities and was kept clean. The service was decent, and there were plenty of dining options in the area. Overall, the value for money is acceptable.

Mallet Villa is a historic and atmospheric accommodation that shouldn't be judged by the standards of a modern luxury hotel. The entire old building has a wonderful ambiance, and my kids absolutely loved it. My only minor regret is that the soundproofing needs improvement. I could hear every movement in the hallway and conversations from the next room very clearly at night. There's a daily historical tour of the villa at 10 AM. On the day we attended, the general manager happened to be there and even corrected some details in the staff's presentation on the spot, demonstrating a rigorous approach to the historical narrative. That left a deep impression on me. I also want to specially commend staff member Xiao Guan for their thoughtful, patient, and meticulous service. Although the old building has objective hardware limitations, the overall stay experience was very unique. You can immerse yourself in old Shanghai's history, and it's truly worth experiencing. I'm giving it a full five-star rating.

The soundproofing, bedding, and toiletries show attention to detail. It offers a quiet atmosphere for business discussions and thoughtful amenities for families with children, ensuring a relaxing and healing travel experience. The experience far surpasses others in the same price range, offering incredible value for money. It will be my first choice for future trips, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Even though the staff were friendly and diligent, the room itself was genuinely bad. My hasty choice really didn't pay off. The promotional photos were a far cry from reality. If I had known beforehand that the window was this tiny, I definitely wouldn't have booked it. The room's ceiling was very low and oppressive. After getting out of the elevator, you still had to climb a steep set of stairs. As soon as I opened the door, I was hit by dampness and a foul smell – perhaps it had something to do with the typhoon? I can't be sure. I tried the AC's cooling, heating, and dehumidifying functions, but to little effect. The moment I walked in, I just wanted to leave, but I gritted my teeth and stayed because I didn't want to waste my money.

The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and odorless. The environment and facilities truly reflect a people-oriented approach, paying attention to the smallest details. However, there's a slight disappointment: I had requested a south-facing room when booking, but unfortunately, my request wasn't fulfilled this time. A south-facing room is my first and only preference when staying at a hotel, as it allows me to open the window for ventilation, fresh air, and a good view.

Our stay at this hotel during our trip was excellent. The room was clean and dry, the facilities were well-maintained, and the mattress was just right—not too soft, not too hard. The front desk service was attentive and responsive. The common areas were clean and elegant, and the environment was quiet. The location is superb, making it convenient for dining and getting around. Overall, it was a comfortable experience with no disappointments; you can tell they put thought into the details. It was a very satisfactory stay, and I highly recommend it to friends who are traveling. It's definitely worth coming back to.

Big thumbs up for the Garden Hotel! I came specifically to stay here for two nights, having heard great things, and I truly experienced the professionalism, warmth, attentiveness, and courtesy of a top-notch hotel. I enjoyed the cleanliness, tranquility, comfort, and a wonderfully unconstrained sense of relaxation. I believe the Garden Hotel has a strong competitive edge in Shanghai, characterized by its approachability and welcoming atmosphere.

The hotel’s location is excellent, right in the city center, making it very convenient to get around. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and provided clear information throughout my stay. The room itself was fairly average and a bit smaller than I expected. I had to change rooms twice, but unfortunately both rooms had the same issue. There was an unpleasant smell coming from either the water or the sink drain, which affected the overall experience. The bathroom does not have a bidet. I visited during a typhoon, so I didn’t have the chance to take many photos. Overall, the location is definitely the hotel’s biggest advantage. If the odor issue can be resolved, the stay would be even more enjoyable.👍🏻👍🏻
