Residences at the Sun Peaks Grand

A disappointing stay compared to 2023. We were a group of 4 staying in a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 weeks.The room was located on the 2nd floor but unfortunately was above the garage which was noisy in the early hours of the morning as staff moved trolleys around. The coffee machine did not work, the tap over the sink in the kitchen leaked water all over the bench top when turned on and the light over the stove also did not work. The toilet in the ensuite was filthy with faeces still in the toilet bowl. The front desk sent a staff member up to clean it with limited success as the bowl was also stained with caked on residue. (I have a photo but will choose not to share it on this site as it may offend).We were told that someone would contact us within 24 hrs. This did not happen. We were only contacted when we contacted the front desk. The Grand hotel and Residence is classed as 4 star accommodation and promotes itself s the best accommodation in Sunpeaks. It is obvious that a pre arrival check was not carried out on this room - not what is expected from a 4 star accommodation. Some of the house keeping staff would appear to need more training or guidance as they did not seem to know what was required of them. Also there were no sport’s channels on the TV. A message on the TV said that they had been deactivated. When questioned the front office staff said that the system had been upgraded and they had lost the sport channels and management was working with the provider to try to rectify the issue. We asked how long this had been a problem and were told 2-3 months. Surely management could fix a problem in 2-3 months. We were told that the 2 restaurants in the building had coverage so it appeared that there was no problem with delivery of the service to the building. Again this was not what we would expect from 4 star accommodation charging over $800 (AUD) night.

Fabulous location at the base of the slopes. Swimming pool and hot tubs were amazing. Really spacious 2 bed 2 bath suite with full equipped kitchen and comfy beds.

Having a fully stocked kitchen, complete with large pot, baking sheets, and paper towels. Could not access our NHL hockey unfortunately. Pool was cold but 3 hot tubs great! Ski valet service was so convenient, as was access to village and ski lifts!

Great location, easily accessed and good facilities. We loved the ease of ski in ski out from the village which is a very short walking distance from the residences. There are great food and beverage outlets and the village itself is very quaint. All rooms should be checked for old mattresses and these must be replaced as a matter of priority as uncomfortable sleeping in a sinking uncomfortable bed hinders the overall experience.

Really good location in resort, nice atmosphere for Christmas. Great pool and hot tub area. Good kitchen facilities in the residences. Good food in Mantles restaurant. Ski valet and repair shop on ground floor very convenient.

Forced vacation due to evacuation. But we were put in a beautiful place with very lovely people. Was so grateful that they don’t have restrictions on animals. And I really liked that we had a balcony to enjoy!

You enter through a very dirty, dusty, unvacuumed side entry. Get into an elevator with broken flooring, dirty walls and a non functional security system. You arrive to your floor and exit into another dusty unvacuumed hallway with dirty dishes stacked outside doorways. (the dirty dishes where still there the next day) Upon entry to the unit. It smelled ... unused. floor was NOT clean as gravel and sand was visible on the carpet. Kitchen was about as tidy as my 15 yr old would leave it. (counters poorly wiped, stuff missing or put away "sorta") Bedrooms had old beds! The kind of bed where you sleep in the trough on either side and never meet over the ridgeline down the middle. We checked in Thursday and left Monday. Our room was serviced once in that period. They made the bed and tidied, didn't vacuum and didn't clean the bathroom (toilet bowl stains remained the entire visit). The empty shampoo and conditioned containers were not replaced and the empty loo roll was not filled. (ladies bring your own shampoo and conditioner as the ones provided are single use for a couple!) Clearly I wasn't pleased. We paid a premium for a 4*+ resort and got a solid 3* overpriced experience. its just not being maintained! you pay for parking in a parking garage full of dirt and dust from last winters gravel roads. 6 months to sweep up the dirt in the parking garage and its just not done.

Our first time visiting in the summer. It was a fantastic family experience. Despite the wild fire smoke, we had a great time. The resort was also accommodating wild fire evacuees and from what we can tell everyone was well taken care of.

Great location, good accommodations and friendly staff. Really like this place. Great to have a pool both in summer and winter and 2 attached restaurants. Also a plus to have AC in summer. I would recommend it for sure.
