Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel

This is a typical 3.5 star European hotel. It is in an excellent location in the middle of the Tallinn Old Town, has comfortable but typically-smallish double rooms, wonderful breakfasts, and warm ac. I would recommend it to couples. However, we would not stay here again. Even though we booked and were fully paid more than 2 months before the hotel stay, we were told on our arrival that our room had been, "double booked". We were dispatched to a room with smaller than single beds positioned end to end in a room that resembled a school camp facility. When I suggested that this was unsatisfactory, the front desk person stated in front of other guests, "That's too bad". After walking the old town and returning, the manager had placed us in a better room for one night and we then had our pre-booked room for the next three nights. Additionally, the lift does not extend to the 4th floor so it was a struggle carrying large suitcases up stairs and across other uneven floors. Finally at check out, the receptionist insisted that our original payment was rejected by "their system" so I had to pay again. She withdrew the allegation after I showed her a stamped receipt. She then retorted, "must have been a system error". In my opinion, two different staff members could benefit from some serious service-industry professional development. However, other staff were very friendly and helpful; it was a very central location; and the breakfasts were delicious.

The location is convenient and close to the nearby sightseeing points, the breakfast was good too.

Quite decent hotel. Rooms are OK and pretty clean, would maybe need some renovation though. There is some room to improve sound insulation, the noices from the neighboring rooms and streets can be heard quite well to the room. Breakfast is average, but does its job. The best thing is definitely the excellent location in the old town, just by a short walking distance from all the key sights. Would recommend, especially if you don't want to spend too much time in the hotel room and if you are looking for a good value for the price.

Bathroom smell was too strong. Whenever I opened the door I smelt pee on the floor. Except that breakfast was good and people at the front dest were really friendly and helpful.

Great location, nice staff, good breakfast, but cold in room, small size of bed, and I found a few long hairs in bath towel.

It was a great location, the room was exactly what I expected. The breakfast was nice, the bed was too soft for my taste, and the room was too hot, even with the window open. All together, I was satisfied.
