The property itself was OK with reasonable beds and good heating. Be prepared for blackouts ad make sure you have a torch or light with you at all times. The problem is with the barking dogs who live on the property. After checkin and not long before dinner the two dogs who had been sleeping on the lawn outside my room started to bark extremely loudly and for extended periods. I went to reception and asked them to do something about it but they weren't interested and just repeated the Bhutanese mantra of "they're strays and not our problem". That's OK for dogs that aren't living on your property but unacceptable for dogs that are. Then later that night I tried to get to sleep. I have industrial grade earplugs and have encountered barking dogs the world over that these handle but the barking was so loud and the dogs so close in this case the noise just cut straight through. After an hour or so I went back to reception and then upstairs and asked to talk to the manager who wasn't there. I told them if they didn't do something about the dogs I would and that finally got some action as the staff went outside (where the dogs came up to them like pets - stray dogs my ....) and I then had a couple of hours sleep. That was the last of the sleep though as they were back barking at 1:30 AM and that went on for the rest of the night. The next day I was a complete wreck due to lack of sleep and the management refused to take any responsibility for the issue and really weren't interested in the welfare of me as a guest at all. So, if you stay here be prepared for the noise, lack of sleep and also the complete lack of respect and empathy from the staff about the issue.

Incredible hotel in the middle of Phobjikha Valley. Phobjikha Valley feels like a place where time has stopped, where people still burn wood for heat, cranes fly outside the window, and the nights are extremely silent. The rooms at the hotel are tastefully decorated, large, with comfortable beds and a stove heater. If you like fireplaces, you will enjoy the rooms as well, as the main heat source will be the wood-fired stove. Staff is friendly and efficient. Food provided by the hotel is average and acceptable. The bathroom itself has instant hot water that is powerful and comforting.

Quiet hotel in the valley. Large rooms with wood stove are cozy. Pillows are soft. Kettle and tea/ coffee are provided in room. Large windows overlooking the valley and mountains. Spa services are available. Food is ok.

The hotel is styled like a wood built rustic inn with stunning mountain views. The approach road is bad. Internet is average, the rooms do not have any phone or television and the bathroom is basic but has hot water. The room has an electric heater as well as a wood fired heater which we learnt to light using wooden chips and logs as it was quite cold in the night during our stay (4 degree C). The restaurant is in the main building with average taste and choices. Service is good but you have to come all the way to reception to ask for anything you want.

This is supposed to be one of the best hotels in the Phobjika valley. One wing of the hotel was being renovated when we arrived and we were allocated Room 103 in the opposite wing supposedly one of their better rooms. The room had a KSB, tea and coffee making, a huge panoramic window overlooking the valley, a portable electric heater and a fixed wood burner, the bathroom had fairly cheap toiletries provided and there was a hairdryer. For information there is no aircon, no safe and no TV and very little wardrobe space and the Wifi is not very strong in the room. Our room had recently been renovated and there were electric light cables still waiting to be connected. The wood burner is poorly placed in the room and could easily be bumped into if moving around in the dark. The bathroom was quite basic and the shower floor was very slippery causing my partner to fall over, after which a complaint resulted in the introduction of a non-slip mat! The food for both the evening meal and breakfast was buffet style and fairly limited. While we were there the staff were being trained on how to serve, clear tables etc so service was a bit haphazard.

What a beautiful place, arguably the most romantic and cozy place to stay in Phobjikha Valley. Rooms are massive and the bed is the most comfortable one I have stayed in for a long time. As it was a bit chilly at night, The hotel provided a space heater. Rooms also have a proper firewood stove, but that would be for winter. Rooms are intentionally left without TVs, with the valley views provided a wise choice. Bathrooms are a bit basic, but ok. Food is varied, mostly addressing Indian guests. Do ask for some special desserts. Sadly, the sauna wasn't working, but there a plenty of farmhouse hot stone baths available in the area.

We stayed at Phobjikha for one night and Dewachen was our choice of place. It is located in a beautiful location overlooking the valley. The rooms look quite heritage style and was very comfortable. Service of the staff was also good.

Stayed here for 1 night. This property is beautifully located in the Phibjika valley from where you can have the whole valley view. The hotel was clean and tidy. Staff was polite and friendly. Food had limited options, but it was delicious. The room was very spacious with a good valley view. The washrooms were also clean. Had a pleasant stay at this property. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The resort has one of the nicest rooms, well heated, with comfortable beds, and good interior design. The design and location makes it perfect and the room has a majestic view of the mountains and the valley. I definitely recommend this oasis.
