Gulong Stay Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
I recently stayed near Gulong Canyon and had a wonderful experience overall. The area is surrounded by lush green mountains and rivers, so the views are absolutely stunning, especially in the early morning with mist in the valley. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had a rustic charm that fit the natural setting.
The main attraction — the glass bridge and skywalk — was breathtaking (and a little scary if you’re afraid of heights). Staff were friendly and helpful, though English was limited, so having a translation app helped. Local food was fresh and tasty, especially the river fish dishes.
One tip: bring comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some steep climbs. It’s best to visit on weekdays to avoid heavy crowds.
Would I come back? Definitely — especially to enjoy more hiking trails and maybe try the zipline next time.

The bedding in the room was soft and comfortable, offering great value for money. Front desk staff Xiao Xiao and Xiao Wu were very warm and helpful, and we received a complimentary upgrade to a larger room with a window. The value for money is excellent, and they offer luggage storage after check-out, which is really convenient for travelers and doesn't disrupt your plans at all.

This stay far exceeded my expectations, a full five stars are a must! As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the enthusiastic front desk lady, who guided me through check-in with a constant smile and thoughtfully informed me about nearby facilities. It instantly washed away my travel fatigue.
The room's cleanliness was what impressed me most. The sheets and bedding were spotless and odorless, the desk and floor were dust-free, and even the bathroom corners were sparkling clean. It made for a truly reassuring stay.

I have stayed at the Wyndham Baise Resort a few times during the past couple of years. This past week I stayed two nights with friends to celebrate my birthday. The hotel staff delivered a cake and card to my room, which was a sweet surprise. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is always someone available who can speak English if you need it. We enjoy eating at the restaurant on the first floor which has a variety of good food to choose from. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a pool and a sauna that we use every time we go. I love the view of the city and river from the window. A mall and some restaurants are in walking distance.

Located opposite a pretty lake, nice for a walk, the hotel is good for leisure and business travellers. The rooms are large and well equipped. The shower was particularly nice and the bed is comfortable. The hotel is very clean.
Fortunately I was with my Chinese speaking partner otherwise check in may have been a longer process. The breakfast was also fine but more orientated to local audience - albeit there is bread, fruit, eggs. Coffee at breakfast is not so good.
A perfect place to stay in Yangshuo, I regret not booking more days!
This hotel in Yangshuo is absolutely divine! I originally only booked two nights, but as soon as I checked in, I regretted not extending my stay. The experience was truly amazing!
Its location is superb – not far from West Street but just enough to avoid the noise, so it's very peaceful at night. It's only about a ten-minute walk to the Li River trail. If you want to visit attractions, the front desk can even help arrange a car, with transparent pricing so you won't get ripped off. My favorite part was the room's viewing balcony. Sitting on the rattan chair in the evening, enjoying the breeze and admiring the silhouettes of the distant mountains while sipping the complimentary osmanthus wine from the hotel, the ambiance was just perfect.
The service was incredibly thoughtful! They proactively helped us with our luggage upon check-in, and seeing that we had elderly family with us, they even upgraded us to a family room with a sofa. Fresh breakfast was delivered to our room every morning; the aroma of the Guilin rice noodles' gravy was intoxicating, and the freshly baked waffles with fruit were so delicious I couldn't stop eating them. The housekeeping auntie was also very meticulous, tidying up the room perfectly every day and even helping to collect and fold our dried laundry.
The facilities are also top-notch. The bedding in the room was super soft and comfortable, the bathroom was clean with a good wet/dry separation, and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel's small garden is exquisitely maintained, filled with bougainvillea and hydrangeas, making every photo a masterpiece. In the evening, small tables and chairs are set up in the garden, offering complimentary tea. Sitting there chatting with family and friends was simply delightful.
When we checked out, the hotel even gave us local Yangshuo osmanthus cakes as a gift, which was incredibly heartwarming! Next time I visit Yangshuo, I will definitely choose this hotel again. I genuinely recommend it to all friends visiting Yangshuo!

I called the hotel yesterday before checking in to ask if I could fish by the Li River, and they confirmed they provide a full set of fishing gear. While not top-of-the-line lure rods, they were perfectly fine for a good experience. I brought my daughter along, and we also tried the hotel's travel photography service; the photographer was great at guiding us with poses. The hotel is right by the Li River, and this morning we even saw cormorants fishing – the hotel said it's a special sight only during Chinese New Year! The room facilities are complete, and all the minibar food and drinks are free. The breakfast rice noodles were also delicious. The location is excellent, making it convenient to visit many attractions. I highly recommend everyone to come and stay!

I was very satisfied with my stay at the Guilin Lijiang Waterfall Hotel, the tallest and largest five-star hotel within the Elephant Trunk Hill scenic area in Guilin. I booked a river view room through Trip.com, and from my room, I could enjoy beautiful views of Elephant Trunk Hill, Folded Brocade Hill, and the Sun and Moon Pagodas. Downstairs, there's a food street, and it's also very close to the Jingjiang Princes' Palace. The breakfast was rich and delicious, especially the Guilin rice noodles. The floor staff were very warm and attentive, and the bedding was clean and comfortable.

My kids absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave, allowing this mom to relax and enjoy the trip.
We stayed in the Little Yellow Duck family room, which came with a tent, plush toys, and various cartoon-themed soft furnishings. They also provided exclusive children's amenities, showing incredible attention to detail – it was so thoughtful! Right outside our room was the hotel's kids' playground, featuring a ball pit slide, a play kitchen area, and a dress-up corner that my daughter adored. She went wild as soon as we entered and I literally couldn't pull her away; she just wanted to stay and play at the hotel!
The hotel also has a gym, an outdoor pool, an outdoor bar, and a self-service laundry room with sterilization and drying functions. Breakfast is served at the Nai Garden Restaurant, and the ambiance speaks for itself – just look at the pictures! It was incredibly picturesque, especially with a bit of rain, giving off strong Monet vibes. The atmosphere was just perfect! I have to praise the hotel breakfast; the value for money is absolutely amazing. For this price, the breakfast spread was so rich, including Guilin's famous oil tea, rice noodles, Western pastries, and Chinese breakfast items. They even offered cups for free takeaway coffee – as a coffee addict, I had two cups to get my day started ☕️.
On the first floor, the hotel lobby also had a Chinese New Year event where my child experienced making hand-printed good fortune paper, and they even framed her artwork as a gift. My daughter was thrilled!
Across from the hotel is a department store, making shopping and exploring very convenient. It's also very close to Elephant Trunk Hill, Two Rivers and Four Lakes, and the Li River scenic area. Elephant Hill Scenic Area, East-West Alley, and Zheng Yang Pedestrian Street are all within walking distance. Guilin, this picturesque and poetic little city, is truly chill and always uplifting. It's super suitable for a city walk with kids!

After booking, I received a call asking about any special requests. I mentioned wanting to avoid a room at the end of the hall, and during check-in, they thoroughly explained that the hotel has a circular layout, so there's no such thing as a 'room at the end of the hall.' Seeing that I was a Diamond member, they proactively upgraded me to a high-floor deluxe king room, which was great!
Parking was convenient, and upon check-in, I found fruit, coffee, and tea readily available. This hotel really broke my preconceived notions about traditional five-star hotels; it has a bit of a St. Regis or Park Hyatt vibe.
The independent cafe next door, 'Daydream,' is truly a hidden gem, especially their cold brew. It has a rich flavor with almost no bitterness – absolutely delicious!

HHaoyunlailyyThis hotel in Yangshuo was such a pleasant surprise! You get amazing mountain views right from your room. The rooftop 'Sky Mirror' offers stunning panoramic views of the winding Li River – it's like a built-in filter for your photos, every shot looks professional! The hotel's location is excellent, right next to West Street, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. Plus, there's free parking, which is a huge bonus if you're driving.
They offer a complimentary buffet breakfast, and the rooms are spacious. I loved relaxing on the balcony sofa during the day, just unwinding and enjoying the mountain scenery, and then watching the sunset in the evening – it felt like time just slowed down. The room I booked even had a soaking tub, and bathing while looking at the mountains was incredibly relaxing! For anyone looking to escape the city for a bit, a weekend here is truly rejuvenating!

GGuest UserRegarding this hotel, I'd advise against checking in with the bespectacled front desk staff member. The first room I was given was a corner room. After going downstairs to discuss it, I requested a more 'standard' shaped room. What I got instead was a room where the TV completely blocked the view, I mean, seriously??? And the bed was incredibly small, as shown in picture 1.
She also told me that because I'm a member, I could have a late checkout until 2 PM. I really appreciate that – what kind of benefit is that?
It took a third complaint to finally get a standard-shaped room. My Trip.com Gold and IHG membership meant absolutely nothing.
This hotel has a very poor service mentality. When checking out, an employee even asked for a positive review, saying it was a task requirement and to remember to write her name. I replied, 'You're just checking me out; it's not like I received any special service, right?'

GGuest UserThe room was spacious, and the bathroom was also quite large. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially Wan Xiaofeng from the mini zoo, who was incredibly enthusiastic and taught the children about the animals' lives. The kids loved interacting with the animals and had a fantastic time. The breakfast selection was extensive, and they even had the local specialty, Guilin rice noodles. Thumbs up to the hotel!

GGuest UserFantastic stay! The room had a lovely minimalist yet cozy wooden aesthetic, feeling spacious and airy. The bathtub and projector really added to the vacation vibe. Soft, warm lighting filled the entire room, and the bedding was clean and skin-friendly, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. The service was thoughtful and attentive, with careful attention to every detail. It's truly an excellent choice for a trip to Yangshuo!

KKonna_liuThis was my first hotel in Chongzuo, and honestly, it set the bar so high that I'm worried subsequent hotels won't measure up. I only managed to book one night here, and after experiencing it, I completely understand why it's so hard to get a reservation!
The hotel's architectural style, design aesthetics, seamless integration of natural scenery, home furnishings, and meticulously chosen selections—everything you see makes you feel truly cared for and satisfied.
The service was both exceptional and understated, making guests feel comfortable without being overwhelmed. From the welcoming ceremony upon arrival, the fresh ingredients for the tea ceremony around the stove, A-jie's (sister's) evening ritual, to the turndown service and sweet soup at night, it all showcased the fiery passion of ethnic minorities. The self-service access to the gathering space, fitness center, pool, and movie room with a swipe card was a dream for introverts like me!
I especially want to commend our butler, Sherry, for her incredible thoughtfulness. Even before check-in, she was actively helping with our itinerary, coordinating my check-in time and photoshoot schedule, which resulted in a perfect set of souvenir photos. When she learned our next day's plan was to visit Tongling Grand Canyon, she thoughtfully prepared raincoats for us. This extended level of service truly enhanced my travel experience. Thank you, Sherry, you're as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside!
Oh, and a special shout-out to Liangshi Restaurant—both dinner and breakfast. It completely changed my preconceived notion that resort hotel restaurants are usually mediocre. I ordered blindly and everything was fantastic; no duds at all. You absolutely have to try it!
GGuest UserWe arrived by boat from Guilin, so we chose this hotel because it's just a 10-minute walk from the pier. The hotel's facilities are great, and both the Western and Chinese restaurants serve delicious food. The rooftop view is lovely, and you can even see the Li River from the third-floor rooms. They have everything you could need, including washing machines, dryers, and even a shoe washer. But the best part was the incredible service: they folded our dry clothes after we went out, reheated our takeout, and even mailed forgotten children's items to our next hotel after we checked out. It was a very satisfying experience!
AAnkasunamuThis hotel is absolutely fantastic! The room is incredibly beautiful and spacious, with brand-new facilities. Both the fixtures and furnishings are top-notch, and you can tell a lot of thought and care went into every little detail. The towels are super soft, clean, and lint-free, and the bed is huge, soft, and incredibly comfortable for sleeping. The hotel's location is also excellent – it's a 5-minute walk to Elephant Trunk Hill and a 3-minute walk to Zheng Yang Pedestrian Street, a food paradise. Right outside is Shan Lake, and you can see the Sun and Moon Pagodas right from your window. It's also just a 13-minute taxi ride from Guilin Station. My kids absolutely loved the intangible cultural heritage craft activities offered by the hotel, and on Valentine's Day, we even received complimentary strawberry tarts. It truly offers the high-end facilities of an international chain hotel, combined with the flexibility and warmth of a small, private hotel's service. My two kids have traveled all over with me, and they've rated this as their favorite hotel – they can't wait to come back and stay again!
