Stayed 2 nights – secure parking + simple comfy rooms in Hobart
We booked Bay Hotel Apartments for the on-site parking, and it was worth it. Driving in Hobart CBD can be stressful, but parking right at the hotel made everything easy. The apartment was simple, clean, and quiet with a comfortable bed. Nothing fancy, but perfect for 2 nights exploring Salamanca and the waterfront on foot.
Easy check-in and out process, good location, could actually walk to Cataract George Reserve. Sufficient parking lot. An interesting place to stay with some activity within the hotel premises. The room was a bit too dim, even though they provided several lights, but all were yellow lights. There is noise (water flow?) that would be quite disturbing if you are a light sleeper.

This hostel was pretty clean, which I appreciated. They even let me check in early around 10 AM, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The only major downside, and it's a big one, is how tiny the kitchen is. When everyone's trying to cook, it gets incredibly crowded. There's also no TV room, so you're stuck socializing in your own room or in that cramped kitchen.
Couldn't find the hotel driving at night, circled around a few times. Had to ask at the restaurant to realize that's where you check in since the front desk was already closed. There are no streetlights here, so the hotel should really put up reflective signs by the road to make it easier for drivers to find at night.
Luckily, there's a restaurant specializing in lobster not far from the hotel which was delicious. It's also very close to the blowholes, so the location is excellent.
The high-end motel built by the lake, the car stops at the door of the room. The furniture is quite new, close to the yacht club, the surrounding scenery is very good, in fact, it is worth staying a few more nights. The reception was warm and I sent sweets when I left, super nice
It was within walking distance to the city center and there was a parking lot, so it was convenient. It's a typical Australian hotel, with a pub on the first floor of the building, which is popular and convenient for people who want to drink. There is a cafe nearby that is open from 6am and the bread was delicious. There was also a Japanese bento shop opposite the hotel.

The motel itself is actually not bad. Based on the reviews, I was expecting it to be worse. But the rooms are fresh and clean.
It lacks air conditioning though. It was cold at night and hot during the day.
Also, a suggestion for the owners – it would be great to have at least a microwave downstairs. Sometimes you just want to heat something up for a quick bite, but...
And there can be issues with parking spots. There aren't many spaces available. It's first-come, first-served.
Amenities: The high-definition TV was great for watching shows, and the capsule coffee machine with complimentary capsules was a perfect touch!
Environment: Pushing open the balcony door, you could see the sea, although it wasn't quite the direct sunrise view I had imagined.
Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Reception couldn’t get in to office as didn’t have her key so had to wait for 30 minutes for the owner to come down to check us in. She said it would be 5-10 minutes before he arrived, after that time passed, she said it would be longer. Wouldn’t give us a dis count when I asked, with owner and receptionist speaking in non English to each other. Under sufferance upgraded to 2 bedroom unit.
I suggested they need to have a spare key kept somewhere.
Excellent site to look over The Nuts and galaxy in the evening. Beautiful sunset and sunrise just in front of my room. Close to Stanley Photo Frame which just locates at the back of the Inn. Thanks to Romeo for booking the Hursey Seafoods which serves tasty crayfish and abalone!!

AAiqinhaixingxingThe room was very nice, the boss was very nice, and he also provided a rich breakfast. It is also very convenient to go to various tourist attractions. It's also very close to the city. The overall feeling of staying here is very relaxing!
DD12428****The room is large, there is breakfast but the taste is generally the same, there is a supermarket nearby for a few minutes, there is free parking space. However, the staff should be very small at the front desk and be responsible for room service.
SShiElaineIt is a cabin in the national park. The room is very cold when you enter. You need to light a fire for several hours to warm it up. It is too hot to sleep at night. The heating lamp in the toilet is broken and it is very cold to go to the toilet. The bedroom is on the second floor and the toilet is on the first floor next to the door, which is a bit inconvenient. The water from the tap is yellow and it is still yellow after a long time. No bottled water is provided.
SShuk Fun KittyGood location, friendly check in and close to the city, go for nearby restaurant for breakfast in walking distance. Small playground for kids. With electric blanket during winter which is very comfortable.

SSuk YeeThis is a very good place and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery place. Quiet, clean and well equipped. Staff members are very helpful & friendly. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserGreat place, good facilities and clean rooms.
Shout out to the ****** who wake up at 5 am stand around talking and wake everyone up and then start their noisy cars and leave to go to another hotel.
GGuest UserNot bad hotel. But there were no tea bags, no milk. Cutlery looks extremely poor. All was from different set, some from hiking set. Also a lot of dust on the bathroom lights. To fix these problems will cost almost nothing, but it will improve the impression. And the final problem is parking. If you return late, there will be no parking place for you.
GGuest UserIt's located in front of the West Coast Wilderness Railway (Queenstown Station) and at the entrance to the main street of the town. The building seems to have historical value, but it was well maintained and the room was comfortable. The bathroom and toilet are shared, but there are many booths so they were never full. I would like to stay at this hotel again next time.
