The hotel is conveniently located in the northern portion of LiJiang ancient town, easy access to the village within a few mins walk as well as the observation viewpoint high located above the town for a panoramic view of the whole village! The service is impeccable, the hotel staff will help to cart your luggages from the nearest drop off point to the hotel as it is located within the village that is not accessible by car! The location is quiet, cozy, comfortable, and with helpful staff that are ready at your request! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this lovely ancient town!

Songzhuju is one of the nicest homestay I've stayed in. 1. Butler Ah Fei and all staff are very welcoming and friendly. Ah Fei contacted me in advance to arrange pick up and itinerary. He's also the go-to guy for purchase of authentic tea and local produce. 2. Superior location The homestay is situated about 100m from north gate. Considered easy to find but I would still recommend the pick up service as the town is such a maze. It takes around 30mins by car from Lijiang Railway to the ancient town. Restaurants, cafes and shops are everywhere. 3. Spacious and cosy room Room was clean, full amenities like bathrobe, slippers, kettle, shampoo, conditioner etc all provided There are endless options of homestays to choose from but Songzhuju stands out for being so homely and such kind of personal service is really rare. After 3 days of stay, i cannot pinpoint a single negative aspect at all. Would return for sure and highly recommend to all travellers! . Bed and pillows quite comfortable. Breakfast provided from 8am. Laundry room available.

Highly recommended hotel with very caring staff. I had an excellent stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect, including the location, cleanliness, service, and facilities. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. She kindly showed me the way to the famous Starlight Market, which is very near the hotel, making it very easy to visit. What impressed me most was the staff’s honesty and support. I forgot my facewash, which I had brought from my country, and the hotel staff helped send it to me by parcel. I really appreciated this thoughtful help. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I strongly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a bit far from the centre, but the room is splendidly decorated with genuine interior design. The whole area is warmly lit by not only electric appliances but also the traditional stove. So impressive. The room itself is so spacious enough for the whole family. Archaic and delicate timber furniture in the entire space made me feel like I was in a fairy tale. Wooden bathtub is another warm heart element.Staff with sincere smiles are always welcoming and supportive. Finally the breakfast is simple but truly tasteful.I do love the place. It was a wonderful experience.

I had a wonderful experience staying here. The room was exceptionally clean, and the daily cleaning service kept everything spotless throughout my stay. All of the amenities and furnishings in the room were in excellent condition and worked perfectly.What truly set this stay apart was the incredible staff. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and even assisted me with planning my itinerary. I highly appreciate their hospitality and would absolutely stay here again!

I chose this hotel after reading reviews from others on trip. com platform. I would highly recommend this hotel for travellers who wish to be near the most happening area in Xishuangbanna, that is the GaoChuang XingGuang Night market and an ancient magnificent Buddhist temple. Transportation is easy, too. The hotel boss and his staff are kind, friendly and helpful. They provide free pick up service from the airport/railway station, saving us a lot of trouble looking for the hotel. The boss also upgraded our room to a higher floor. The room is kept clean, neat and comfortable for the three nights we were there. Every aspect for a comfortable stay was taken into account. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. Thank you to the hotel boss and staff.

I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin. Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth. They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead. The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed. Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating.

A highly recommended stay in Shangri-La! The rooms are warmly heated, dispelling the high-altitude chill. Free parking is available for those driving, and the terrace offers panoramic views of the White Pagoda and Golden Banners. A complimentary laundry room is a thoughtful touch, and Dukezong Ancient Town is just a short walk away. The rooms are clean and quiet, with soft bedding, and the front desk service is warm and attentive. The location and views are superb, making it a top choice for travelers.

Choosing this hotel for my Kunming trip was an absolutely brilliant decision! My overall stay was perfect, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guandu or Dounan. The room was meticulously cleaned; the desk, corners, and bathroom areas were spotless. The bedding was neat and soft, and the room had excellent natural light and ventilation, making for a very reassuring and comfortable stay. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and polite throughout, handling check-in efficiently and quickly. They even proactively helped us plan our sightseeing routes and patiently answered all our travel questions – truly thoughtful and attentive service. The hotel has its own exclusive parking lot, which is super convenient for self-driving, with plenty of spaces so you don't have to hunt around. The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to the subway station for easy public transport access. You can walk to Guandu Ancient Town, and it's just a short drive to Dounan Flower Market to browse fresh flowers. The most delightful surprise was the complimentary exquisite desserts and fresh fruit provided by the hotel upon check-in – full of thoughtful details that created a wonderful ambiance. This hotel offers incredible value for money, perfect for both leisure travelers and short-term stays. I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in Kunming.

Hygiene: Very clean. The bed, floor, and bathroom were spotless, and the room had no strange odors. The bathroom even has a fan/heater, so it's not cold, and there's plenty of hot water. Facilities: It has a shower, a smart toilet, and a projector (I didn't use it during my stay, so I'm not sure how good it is). There's also a kettle to boil hot water (useful if you're going to the snow mountains, though there's free hot water there too). The hairdryer works well, and the bath towels and regular towels are disposable, which is great. Environment: You can see the snow-capped mountains from the rooftop, and there are many flowers – wow, the environment is lovely. There's also a balcony on the middle floor, perfect for enjoying a drink on a windless and rainless evening. Service: After booking, a butler will call in advance to confirm details and provide some important information, which is excellent. They even helped with my luggage. Yes, very good and enthusiastic. Great service.
