We initially only had 3 days visiting Dali, but rarely does a hotel ever influence me in staying longer in a particular city. Dont get me wrong, Dali is VERY BEAUTIFUL. Its got enough offerings for it to convince me to stay longer. But since this is a review of this hotel, I will keep it that way.
For starters, the staff: there are 3 whom we've had the pleasure of meeting
1.) The front desk/lobby gentleman who is very accommodating and knowledgeable. He made sure we were happy with everything and even offered to give my party of 5 credits for our ”didi” rides, one of China's largest ride share.
2.) The young lady housekeeper/tea/greeter/everything, she will provide you with all the necessities you may require. Disposable towels it works, give it a shot before knocking it, bottled water, soap, laundry detergent, anything. She also has the sweetest personality and although I didn't speak Mandarin all too well, we somehow understood each other. Shes simply amazing.
3.) The owner, she is a person of faith. If she senses anything wrong with you, she wont hesitate to offer medicine and food free of charge to make you feel better.
All of the above 3 staff rescued my mom in law when she felt unwell due to altitude sickness. Oxygen bottles were ready at 18rmb each, they even offered to try it first to see if it works before paying. It just goes to show the lengths they are willing to go to ensure their guests are well taken care of.
Now for the hotel: I might have to copy and paste this review because I actually booked 2 rooms. One for my family and another for my inlaws.
I booked the largest two bedroom with bunk bed and really tall ceilings equipped with a living room, and another was a panoramic view of both Cangshan mountain and Erhai lake on the 3rd floor corner. I forgot what it was called but the place was dreamy and well equipped. Not to mention all rooms were decked out with ZEN like decorations beyond compare.
How can I say this in the best way possible...
The location isnt the closest to the ancient city, meaning you cant walk it, but didi is quite affordable that this did not matter to us. The school bells and songs that play during specific hours are oddly satisfying and did not cause any disturbance. Cars will be cars, especially in China, so wherever you stay, hearing horns here and there is inevitable. But the windows, curtains and walls are great for sound absorption.
Combined with the beauty and serene touches this place had to offer like the koi pond, zen garden, traditional pagoda and courtyard aesthetics, along with the decor of each room that surpassed my expectations, I cancelled a more expensive hotel to stay here with the intent of trying only for a night and moving to another. With the cherry on top being served by the most humble staff, our 3 nights in Dali became 5 nights.
The distance to each attraction was never an issue thanks to the affordability of ride share programs in China. Being slightly away from the busy areas, we were welcomed with peace, quiet, and a community like vibe. We walked the back streets, visited a Buddhist temple about 5 minutes away, and dined at actual local restaurants.
The vacation became an eye opener, especially for a westerner like myself.
My family and I, even though we still have 2 nights left, already look forward to our next trip to Dali. And when that time comes, this place will be where we stay without hesitation.
I cancel a lot of hotel bookings because they rarely match what is shown on the app. You know that feeling. But this place, we were brought here for a reason.
My family loves this place. And to the staff, thank you for welcoming us and making us feel comfortable.
Dali, into the awakening place. What a beautiful and appropriate name for such a place of tranquility and hospitality.

Guest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They confirmed my check-in details and the hotel's location in advance. Upon arrival, they immediately offered to help with my luggage and even assisted with purchasing tickets for the Song Dynasty City show (I didn't realize discounted tickets needed to be bought a day in advance, but the hotel managed to get them for me). They were consistently warm and welcoming whenever I saw them.
The breakfast was plentiful and, more importantly, delicious, with a fantastic view from the restaurant.
The room was spacious and modern, featuring a double vanity and a large dressing mirror, perfect for two women to get ready simultaneously. My friend was extremely pleased.
Initially, I was a bit worried based on some user-uploaded photos on Amap, but thankfully, the hotel's photos on Trip.com were accurate and trustworthy, not misleading. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

I used to stay in hotels, but this time, wanting to better experience the local culture in Lijiang Old Town, I chose a guesthouse. From the moment we checked in, the owner, like a friend, brewed us tea and offered us flower cakes and dried beef. As soon as we entered our room, the daily afternoon tea set arrived: tiramisu tarts made with real cream, fresh and crisp strawberries and blueberries, and freshly cut cantaloupe and watermelon. I'm very sensitive to smells, and the room's air freshener and toiletries had a scent similar to Le Labo, which was lovely. The room offered great views of the snow-capped mountains. The guesthouse's location on the main street was perfect – lively but quiet. Even as a light sleeper, I was never disturbed by the street noise. Whenever I stayed elsewhere in Yunnan, I unconsciously compared it to this place. This guesthouse is truly my 'white moonlight' in Yunnan, and I'll never consider another option when I come to Lijiang again. Many thanks to the manager for the pick-up, help with luggage, and recommendations for various local specialty restaurants, and to the owner for her warm hospitality and sophisticated taste. The guesthouse serves breakfast; the auntie's rice noodles were generously topped, and the owner's cat, Aobai, is both cute and sassy :)

This hotel experience was absolutely fantastic, five stars! It's very close to Erhai Airport and offers a free pick-up service, making transportation super convenient. The hotel boasts stunning views; you can admire the beautiful Erhai Lake right from your room. The service is incredibly attentive, with staff who are warm and thoughtful. The biggest surprise was the dining: the homemade breakfast was prepared with great care, the afternoon tea was exquisite, and they thoughtfully provided complimentary fruit and cake, all of which tasted excellent. Room service was also very prompt, making for a truly comfortable stay. In summary, the environment, service, and dining are all impeccable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dali, and I will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

Guest UserBy chance, I booked a stay at the Meishan Inn in Dali Ancient City and ended up staying for 4 days. The entire trip was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. The Bai minority-style courtyard is truly charming and unique. The inn manager was attentive and thoughtful, and the facilities were well-equipped. The room was clean and tidy, and the inn's breakfast was absolutely delicious. The courtyard boasts beautiful flowers and scenery, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling surroundings, yet its excellent location makes getting around very convenient.

Guest UserWe had a very pleasant stay overall. The room was exactly as described: very clean, surprisingly large, and the floor heating in the main area was a welcome feature. The location is truly excellent—easy to find, a short distance from the ancient city, and incredibly convenient for taxis. Having a supermarket right downstairs and access to fantastic local restaurants was a huge plus.
The only area for improvement is the bathroom temperature. As there is no heating element, it became quite cold during the night, which was a bit uncomfortable.
Despite this, we would happily return for the great value and ideal location.

BukubuhanziThe hotel staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to meet our needs during our stay! The hotel's location is also excellent, not far from both Dali Ancient City and Longkan Pier. On our last day, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the hotel is right next to the famous 'Influencer Road'!

Guest UserThis was truly one of the best 民宿 experiences I have ever had.
From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Two gentlemen welcomed us warmly with smiles and immediately helped us carry our luggage, which included two large suitcases and two small suitcases, all the way up to Level 3. We were also given a complimentary room upgrade because a larger room was available, which was such a thoughtful gesture.
After checking in, they patiently guided us through the room facilities and made sure we knew how everything worked. On the first day of our stay, they also prepared a beautiful fruit platter and tea for us, which made us feel so welcomed and well taken care of.
Their service hours are from 8am to midnight, but what impressed us most was how much they went beyond that. Whenever available, they also had a driver who could send us to the nearby Lijiang Old Town, making our trip even more convenient and worry-free.
The level of care and help they provided is honestly beyond words. They made our entire stay comfortable, smooth, and stress-free. Together with the beautiful scenic views, their outstanding service made us fall in love with Lijiang even more and truly made us want to visit again.
On our last day, we had to check out at 7am, which was outside their usual working hours. Even so, the owner personally stayed at the counter and set his own alarm just to help us carry our luggage down. He did not have to do this, but he still went out of his way to assist us. He also helped arrange transport to take us to Lijiang Train Station, which made our departure so easy and comfortable.
The service at this hotel is genuinely excellent. I almost have no words to describe how grateful we are for such a wonderful stay. This is the first time I am putting so much effort into writing such a long review for a hotel, and that says a lot about how amazing the experience was.
If you are visiting Lijiang, I highly, highly recommend this 民宿. The service, hospitality, comfort, and overall experience are truly top-notch. You have to experience it for yourself.
