3-Star Hotels in Uva Province, Sri Lanka

The hotel was a bit hard to find. We stopped the car and the driver called for someone to pick us up, but no one came after waiting for about ten minutes, so the driver had to call again. The room was very small, and the swimming pool water was murky. We booked dinner, but it was a very simple buffet with only a few dishes. Among all the accommodations during our 9-day island tour, this guesthouse was the smallest and had the most basic facilities. However, the mountain view from the room was quite nice.

Heaven on earth! Absolutely spoiled every morning with breakfast on their rooftop overlooking the famous Ella Rock. Possibly the best bedroom view I’ve ever seen. We travelled in April which is notoriously muggy and hot, but the electric fans are very powerful and kept us nice and cool in the evenings, they even have a sleep setting on them! Couldn’t have asked for much more. 5 min TukTuk to and from town (500sr or £1.50). Or a peaceful 10 minute walk. 11/10 would recommend

I booked the Double Room with Mountain View for my friend during our stay at Bridge Front Inn Hotel, and just like my previous experience, my friend was also very satisfied with the service and hospitality provided by the hotel. The hotel is located in Ella, very close to the famous Nine Arches Bridge. It is possible to walk from the hotel to the bridge, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch the iconic train passing through. You can even spot the train from the hotel itself. The room had the same great features, including a private dining area and two bean bags, which were perfect for relaxing, resting, or simply enjoying the surrounding views. Overall, my friend was very happy with the stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ella. The experience was well worth the price, especially considering the excellent hospitality and service provided by the team. At the end of our stay, all of us decided to give Yugesh a tip of LKR 6,000 as a token of appreciation for his exceptional service and the extra effort he put into making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay, great hospitality, and good value for money in Ella!

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

J’ai apprécié l’emplacement un peu à l’écart de la grande avenue, mais il est vrai que le soir la rue est sombre. La chambre est grande avec un grand balcon, la literie est confortable. Par contre je n’ai pas aimé que le petit déjeuner soit mentionné et qu’on m’ait averti la veille qu’il ne le servaient pas sans même trouver d’alternative. Le wifi n’est pas du tout stable et la communication avec le gérant est presque inexistante. On ne m’a jamais répondu ni pour le petit déjeuner ni pour le wifi

The hotel is on the hillside, with a good mountain view, the room bathroom is super large, the only room that is not damp in the 20 days of living in Sri Lanka, if there is air conditioning, it will be perfect.  It is more than 20 minutes' drive from Ella Town.  Ella is mostly sloped . It is basically a curved path to various hotels and homestays. It is very suitable for  people who want to be quarantined for a few days to live for a few days. I especially want to praise their service team. A few simple warm and friendly local boys, they really want to be good to every guest staying, thank you for the delicious breakfast.

It’s a little high up on a hill, but the view from my balcony was gorgeous. It’s also right off the main street, so if you don’t mind the trek up and down you’re still relatively well-situated to be near the backpackers’ bars and restaurants and shops. Breakfast had a lot of local Sri Lankan options which I greatly appreciated, and staff was also happy to explain each dish to newcomers. A small piece of advice for the team though: perhaps hire a few female staffers? As a woman traveling alone, one of the first things I noticed was the all-male staff—or at least, I didn’t see a single woman working there in my 2-night stay. I don’t have a problem with it, but newer solo female travelers might unintentionally be scared off

The hostel was so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so Although it's far from the city, I didn't feel inconvenient because I picked up and picked up for free to the city! And it was really comfortable because it was 5 minutes walk from Nine Arch Bridge! If you want to take a tuk-tuk from downtown to the Nine Arch Bridge or from the Nine Arch Bridge to downtown, you can't catch the pick-me-up and you have to take the tuk-tuk there, but it's expensive, so the hotel provides I used the service, so I think it was better than catching accommodation in the city!

The **prime location** was unbeatable – just a **2-minute walk to the main city center**, with easy access to **trending restaurants and vibrant spots**.   What truly made our stay special was the **attentive service and warm atmosphere**. **Great food, fantastic service, and genuinely caring staff** – we couldn’t have asked for more!   **Highly recommend** Alta Vista for travelers seeking **comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality**. **Thank you for a memorable stay One thing which can make more effective is WhatsApp service. WhatsApp will speed up things. Service was prompt if you have a Srilanka number over phone call.

We had a lovely stay at Ella Rawana Den Hotel in Ella. The location is excellent — just a short walk to town, making it very convenient for restaurants, cafes and exploring the area. One of the highlights was the beautiful balcony view overlooking the lush green hills. It was the perfect place to relax in the morning or evening. The room was big, clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. However, it’s important for older guests or anyone with mobility issues to know that the hotel is located up a very steep hill. Cars and tuk-tuks cannot access the property directly, so you need to walk up, which can be challenging — especially with heavy luggage. Because of this, it may not be suitable for elderly or disabled travellers. One small improvement would be for the hotel to provide a hairdryer in the rooms, as this would be very helpful for female guests. Overall, a great stay with beautiful views and kind staff — just be prepared for the steep climb!
