5-Star Hotels in Fujian, China

Stayed for a night in Fuzhou on the way back from my holiday. Although it was a bit rushed, Fuzhou was definitely the most comfortable stop on my entire trip. The hotel is very close to the subway station, and tourist attractions are just two stops away. Right across the street there's a Laohua (a local noodle soup dish) restaurant with a really unique flavor. All the hotel staff were great, and the guy who helped with luggage storage was super friendly. I had a late flight, so I picked up my bags in the evening after returning from Sanfang Qixiang, and the subway interchange to the airport is less than 200 meters from the hotel entrance. It's a central location, highly recommended!

Location: Super convenient, right next to MixC shopping mall, so all your shopping and dining needs are covered. View: Coming from Qingdao, I wasn't really focused on a sea view, so I chose Andaz. The city view from the high floor was still quite good. Facilities: The hotel's design and aesthetics are really on point, you can take a lot of photos. It has a Nanyang style. Food: Breakfast is a mix of à la carte and buffet, and the satay noodles were absolutely delicious. Service: Every staff member I encountered was wonderful, always smiling. I was particularly impressed by a petite young woman around 2:51 PM on April 25th when I was checking out. While the other doormen were assisting other guests, she rushed over and proactively helped me put my luggage in the trunk. Kudos to her! Butler Service: I did add them on WeChat, but if you need something, it's quicker to just dial '0' yourself.

The hotel feels a bit dated, but the location is excellent. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room offer an unobstructed view of Yuandang Lake. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the noodle station. The clear noodle soup mixed with meat sauce was absolutely delicious.

This hotel is perfectly located right on the main street. I loved that it's just across the road from a morning market and a street full of breakfast stalls. The old town is also within walking distance. The area around is open and quiet, except for the school across the street, which can be a bit noisy in the mornings when they play announcements over the loudspeaker. Other than that, it's very peaceful. The room facilities are new, and the soundproofing is good – I was very satisfied with my stay. It happened to be International Women's Day during my visit, and the hotel even sent up a small taro-flavored cake, which was a thoughtful touch and delicious!

For my trip to Fuzhou, I chose the Sanmar Hilton by the Min River, and overall, the experience was quite reliable. The most unique feature is definitely its 'sky lobby' – check-in is on the 40th floor. As soon as you step out of the elevator, the panoramic view is stunning, and the front desk staff were efficient. I stayed in a high-floor river view room (48th floor), and the full-height windows offered an absolutely fantastic view. By day, you can watch boats on the Min River, and by night, it's the bustling CBD city lights. Being able to take in the entire city's scenery from bed was a huge plus. The room itself was spacious and well-laid out. The bedding had that classic 'cloud-like' feel, and there was a good selection of pillows, ensuring a very comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom had a separate shower and bathtub, which was great for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The housekeeper also thoughtfully checked in daily to ask about any replenishment needs, which was another nice touch.

I booked the 'influencer-favorite' room that offers views of both Jinjiang Bridge and the Ferris Wheel. Upon check-in, the staff told me there's only one room of that type on each floor – and the view outside the window was absolutely unbeatable! In the evening, we took a stroll along the river on the opposite bank, and it was just a short walk to the foot of Jinjiang Bridge, which was super convenient! The complimentary afternoon tea looked great and tasted delicious, and the breakfast was also very rich, allowing me to try almost all of Quanzhou's local specialties! As for the Huian Nü traditional costume experience (1 set): I honestly couldn't appreciate it, so I just tried it on in the room and then changed right out of it. 🤣

For our May Day holiday family trip, I prefer old-fashioned hotels with local character over modern ones, which is why I chose Lujiang Hotel. Upon arrival in the morning for check-in, they offered us hot tea while we waited and even gave the kids little May Day badges, which they absolutely loved! Throughout our stay, they helped us with our luggage to the room, set up birthday decorations, and even gifted a small birthday cake – incredibly thoughtful! The room directly faced Gulangyu Island, offering both sea views and glimpses of Zhongshan Road. Coincidentally, the Xiamen Citizen Festival activities were happening right downstairs during May Day, so we could enjoy the show with a breeze from our room without even stepping outside – very nice. The hotel also offered a complimentary travel photoshoot. It was with Zhuyanjihouse Qipao, located on the first floor near the afternoon tea area, and it was a great experience. If you have plenty of time, I recommend setting aside at least half a day to experience it when there are fewer people, especially if you're an introvert. On our departure day, it happened to be raining. The bellboy was incredibly efficient, helping us meticulously load our luggage into the car. Excellent service overall!

Facilities: Very complete and convenient. Cleanliness: Very clean, not a speck of dust. Environment: The room I booked was very spacious and comfortable. There was enough space for two large 28-inch suitcases. Service: The hotel offers latex pillows and a wake-up service. There's even a clothes drying rack above the bathtub in the room. The location is very close to Jinjiang Airport, making it super convenient for early flights or layovers. The lobby design is distinctive, and the spiral staircase is perfect for photos. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, equipped with a bathtub and a mini-bar, and all the amenities you need. The hotel also has a laundry room, a gym, and a rich variety of options for the self-service breakfast. Overall, it's clean and tidy, with attentive service. It's suitable for both layovers and short trips, highly recommended.

We chose a suite because we were traveling with elderly parents, and we were truly satisfied. The room was clean and comfortable, offering a view of the entire West Lake Grand Park. Accessing the park was also very convenient; we could just swipe our room card right next to the hotel without having to go the long way around. Plus, the suite allowed us to enjoy afternoon tea and happy hour at the 21st-floor executive lounge, which my parents absolutely loved. Another major perk is that the hotel's location is incredibly convenient for getting to Sanfang Qixiang, Shangxiahang, and Yantaishan – whether by subway or taxi.

Specifically booked Conrad for my trip to Xiamen. The hotel boasts an excellent location, offering breathtaking sea and city views from its high floors. The rooms are generally clean and fresh, with a well-thought-out layout, soft bedding, and good soundproofing. The staff are warm and professional, always promptly attending to our daily needs. The hotel maintains its overall high-end standard, and its proximity to shopping areas makes getting around very convenient. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Xiamen.
