Guest UserThis is my second time staying at the Conrad Hotel in Shenyang. The first time, my whole family traveled together and we had a great overall experience, so I chose Conrad again.
After checking in at the front desk, I arrived at the room and found that the refrigerator was under maintenance. I called the front desk, and they immediately upgraded my room and had someone personally escort me to the new room.
This time, I realized that the Conrad's location is truly convenient for getting anywhere. I walked to Xita and it's also very close to Shenyang Station, only 4 subway stops including a transfer, which is very convenient.
The view from the 88th-floor front desk is absolutely stunning at sunset. The rooms are all on high floors, so the views are great, perfect for sitting and enjoying the scenery even on a rainy day.

After many years, I revisited Dalian. I looked at several hotels, but few met my expectations until I found this one. It boasts an unbeatable sea view, and you can enjoy the sunset right from your room and living room. The lobby is on the 66th floor, and the six elevators handle the traffic quite well, not feeling too crowded except during breakfast hours. The staff were proactive in greeting guests, and the cleaning was thorough. There's a small play area on the lobby floor, which was enough to entertain the kids. As for the hot water supply issue that many have complained about, it's perfectly fine if you manage your usage reasonably. Venice Water Town, World Architecture, and Donggang Fifth Street are all within walking distance, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. Food delivery comes right up to your floor, which is super convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and would stay here again if I have the chance.

Anonymous UserFirst off, the location is great, but the hotel is really old! I truly can't believe this is an Intercontinental, given their supposed standards and requirements.
1. They called me the day before to discuss check-in time, and we spent ages on the phone, wasted time, and still didn't clarify anything.
2. During check-in, they started discussing the daily room rate with me. This is the first time a hotel has ever done this with a guest. I thought the price was going to change, and we spent ages clarifying, only to find out the rate was exactly the same. No change at all. Their communication style was very misleading.
3. That evening, I called room service for an extra blanket, and they just flat out said they didn't have any.
4. My friend tried calling customer service from their room multiple times, and no one picked up.
5. The customer service in the lobby was also non-existent. Honestly, it's worse than places like Ya Duo or Quan Ji hotels these days.

Posted on Aug 3, 2026|Boutique Villa - Standard Room with Double Bed (Outdoor Hot Spring)
Guest UserThe hotel's online advertising built up too much anticipation, leading to a significant gap between expectation and reality. I arrived at 10:30 PM, and the lobby was completely dark. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, but the shower drainage was poor; water flowed from the shower enclosure directly into the toilet area. Since it was late and I was only staying one night, I didn't bother calling for service. The vanity area was also uncomfortably close to the bed with no privacy screen. As for the hot spring area, the water activities were fun and my child enjoyed them. However, the scrubbing area and lounge were very mediocre. If you're looking for a good scrubbing experience, I'd advise against it. There wasn't even any water available to drink in the scrubbing area. I finally found some hot water in the main hall, but the air conditioning wasn't sufficient, so I was constantly sweating. Free drinking water wasn't readily available everywhere. The dinner voucher from Ctrip was useless since I arrived so late. When I asked if I could use it the next day, I was told no, it was only valid for the same day – what's the point of giving it then? Overall, the indoor areas felt dim and disorganized, while the outdoor areas were clean, tidy, and interesting.

The hotel room size was decent, but there wasn't even a small sofa. Before showering, my partner and I had to sit uncomfortably on two separate chairs, with no other place to relax.
The pool was terrible – tiny and murky.
The hairdryer was incredibly noisy and ineffective; I'd recommend bringing your own if you need one.
What was both annoying and laughable was the mini-bar setup: four bottles of Pure Water Joy on the left with no price tags, two Voss bottles on the right, each with a price tag of 28. Inside the fridge were several bottles of Pepsi, 7-Up, and Watson's soda water, none of which had price tags. So, of course, after checking out, I received a persistent call chasing me for the soda water cost, insisting they had labels. They also mentioned a pack of Oreo cookies in the fridge that also had no price tag. This isn't my first stay at a Marriott property, but this was by far the worst experience, no exceptions! It was also one of the two worst experiences during my trip to Shenyang. I will not be returning.
The only redeeming factor was the room service attendant – thank you!

Guest UserThe hotel has a very American vibe, and the lobby is quite rock 'n' roll. We upgraded our room with a surcharge, and the view was much better; the room itself was large and clean. On our last night, someone set off fireworks on the beach, and having a sea-view room made it instantly worthwhile! The hotel pool is great; the kids didn't want to get out. The hotel is also very close to the beach, and it's easy to order takeout. Really good!

Datablau LuluThe best hotel of our trip, absolutely loved it! The design is just incredible.
**Location:** Since I was traveling with my 12-year-old, convenience to attractions was a key factor. I hadn't really researched it when booking, but after staying, I found it super convenient for getting to the nearby Forest Zoo (I'll write a separate guide for that later), Lotus Mountain, Haida Tunnel, Cross-sea Bridge, and Xinghai Square.
**Environment:** Built on Lotus Mountain with unique architecture, so the views and scenery are unparalleled.
**Facilities:** The room and amenities were all very complete. The only downside was that there was an event in the sky garden one night, so we couldn't enjoy the night view, but otherwise everything was great.
**Pool:** I went for a swim every day. It was great for exercise and I could also use the steam room, which was very relaxing.
**Gym:** Lots of equipment, but not many people actually working out – more guests were there for a holiday.
**Shuttle service from the foot of the mountain:** Very convenient! Although the journey isn't far, it saved a lot of time and effort. There were always hotel guests waiting there.
**Hotel photoshoot (3 retouched digital photos, requires 24-hour advance booking):** We did this on our last morning, and it was incredibly efficient! Started shooting at 9 AM, finished by 9:20 AM (we couldn't shoot outdoors due to the weather). We then waited 5-10 minutes to choose the photos. Every shot was beautiful, and I reluctantly paid extra for 10 more.
**Breakfast:** Very extensive, and the specialty sea buns and 'dirty' buns were absolutely delicious!
**To sum it up:** You get what you pay for!

Bianselong9196I'd like to commend Yolanda at the front desk. She was incredibly warm and enthusiastic, even when I arrived very late, and patiently guided me through nearby attractions.
The hotel is ideally located: only a 5-minute walk to the Caitang Night Market, and MixC Mall is within walking distance. Being in the city center, it's super convenient whether you're driving, taking the subway, or catching a taxi.
The accommodation itself is outstanding. Formerly a Kempinski, Accor took over and renovated it, so the environment and facilities are all new and very comfortable. The TV allows screen casting, the bathroom has excellent water pressure, and the bedding is very cozy.
Breakfast offers a fantastic variety, including many Northeastern specialties. They even have a version of 'Guo Bao Rou' (sweet and sour pork) made with ketchup, which is worth trying.
Conclusion: Excellent value for money!

This time, I brought my family and kids to Dalian, and we decisively chose to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian. This five-star hotel, highly praised by previous generations, truly lived up to its reputation. The accommodation experience throughout our trip far exceeded expectations. From its prime location and excellent room amenities to the meticulous and thoughtful service, everything left a deep impression. It's truly a Shangri-La!
The Shangri-La Hotel is situated in the core business district of Renmin Road, boasting a unique geographical advantage. It's close to Zhongshan Square, very near the subway station, and surrounded by a wide array of restaurants and shopping malls. Taking a taxi to popular attractions like Donggang and Xinghai Square is incredibly convenient, saving time and effort for both leisure and business. Its transportation advantage is truly outstanding.
As a long-established five-star hotel in Dalian, despite its age, it's evident that the overall maintenance is superb. The cultural ambiance is remarkably rich! Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted by a grand and steady decor with elegant style and soft lighting, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The concierge staff were warm and enthusiastic, proactively helping with luggage and being very polite. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we could feel the five-star hospitality standards!
Lisa, the Guest Relations Manager, provided professional and efficient service. Even during the peak tourist season with large crowds, she managed everything in an orderly manner, processing check-in quickly. She also thoughtfully prepared welcome fruits and snacks, showing great attention to detail.
The guest rooms are spacious and bright with excellent lighting. High-floor rooms offer panoramic views of the city. The bedding is soft and thick, providing an exceptional sleep experience. After a day of exploring, lying down allows for complete relaxation and washes away travel fatigue. The rooms are cleaned spotlessly, with great attention to hygiene details. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, stable hot water supply, and high-quality toiletries. The room's soundproofing is excellent, making for a very quiet night undisturbed by outside noise.
The hotel facilities are comprehensive. The indoor heated pool has clean water and a comfortable environment, and the gym is well-equipped. The buffet breakfast is a major highlight, with a rich variety of dishes, including both Chinese and Western cuisine. There are freshly made noodles, local specialties, fresh fruits, and various pastries and breads. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are excellent, satisfying different dietary preferences. The restaurant staff are friendly and responsive, making for a great dining experience.
The most impressive aspect was Lisa's thoughtful service. She is genuinely warm and friendly, responds quickly to requests, and communicates smoothly. Even our child really liked her!

Guest UserAlthough the hotel is a bit old, it's still pretty good overall. The kids had a great time, and we could see Labor Park across the street. It's very close to Dalian Shopping Mall, just diagonally opposite the hotel, and the first floor of the mall is full of food options where you can buy souvenirs. You can also walk to Zhongshan Square.
