5-Star Hotels in Sichuan, China

I used to stay at the Shudu Mansion near Chunxi Road for business trips with my previous company. This time, revisiting the old stomping grounds, I opted for the City Celebrity Hotel near Tianfu Square. The location is excellent and transportation is convenient, with multiple subway lines converging and a 3-minute walk to the Tianfu Square subway hub. It's perfectly situated, adjacent to the Chengdu Museum, Science and Technology Museum, and People's Park. Chunxi Road, IFS, and Taikoo Li shopping districts are just one subway stop away on Line 2. Cultural landmarks like Kuanzhai Alley, Anshun Covered Bridge, Jiuyan Bridge, and Jinjiang Bar Street are also not far. It's a 15-minute drive to Chengdu East Railway Station, 25 minutes to Shuangliu Airport, and 1 hour to Tianfu International Airport. Although the City Celebrity Hotel is a bit old, its former luxurious charm is still evident. The rooms are spacious, facilities are complete, and sanitation is well-maintained. The service is good, and breakfast is decent. Multiple elevators are in operation, making access convenient. The key highlight is its high value for money.

I came to Chengdu specifically to relax and unwind. After visiting Mount Qingcheng, I returned to the city the next day and booked the Hyatt Centric Chengdu on a whim. It turned out to be an unexpected delight throughout my stay. I especially want to commend Xiaoyan and the several front desk ladies. Their service was friendly and professional. Check-in was efficient and smooth, and all my daily inquiries and requests were handled promptly and appropriately. They struck the perfect balance, avoiding unnecessary pleasantries and simply making me feel comfortable and at ease. The hotel's overall style is young and fashionable, with an excellent aesthetic. The public areas and guest rooms are designed to be clean and sophisticated, never feeling overly flashy or noisy, which perfectly suited my vacation and relaxation mood. The entire process from check-in to check-out was very pleasant, making for a great stay. I'll definitely prioritize choosing this hotel when I visit Chengdu again!

The hotel was a pleasant surprise during our trip; the kids and our dog were very happy with it, as it had a large bathtub and a small garden. Since we were leaving very early the next day, our butler, Jiqing, thoughtfully packed breakfast and provided a lot of information on sightseeing and dining options. Leshan is a treasure trove of a city; besides the Giant Buddha, there are many other fun places to visit. I would definitely choose to cycle solo for a thousand miles again next time.

The environment here is fantastic, with pristine forest right behind the property. On clear days, you can even see snow-capped mountains across the way and behind us, though it's quite atmospheric even on cloudy days. It's truly untouched; we saw wild rabbits hopping around and herders' horses grazing nearby. The breakfast was delicious, and the yak hotpot we had for dinner was pretty good too. I also highly recommend exploring the village down the mountain.

The hotel's scenery is exceptionally beautiful, with a Chinese-inspired design and blessings extended to every guest. The courtyard is adorned with crape myrtle, pomegranates, and magnolia flowers, creating a sense of abundant beauty and prosperity. Flower-lined paths lead to picturesque spots, making every step a delight, and allowing one to forget all worries and simply immerse in the moment. The public hot springs are spacious, available both indoors and outdoors. The rooms are private villas, some with their own hot spring baths, and the温泉 water is natural radon spring water. The front desk managers, Helen and Li Yilin, were very attentive. I would definitely choose Fairmont Chengdu Hot Springs again if I have the chance; it must be even more beautiful in the autumn. This was a wonderful trip.

My overall stay was a mixed bag. While some staff members provided commendable service, there were serious privacy violations and significant safety and hygiene issues. I'd like to specifically commend Kari, Vincent, Emily, and Sophie. They were patient, responsive, and provided professional and attentive service, which greatly enhanced our trip. A special shout-out to Vincent; despite being a manager, he drove us around in the sightseeing buggy and even took us to a different location for a taxi, ensuring we got there comfortably. My service rating is solely for these staff members. However, some unacceptable problems arose: The breakfast hygiene was concerning; we found hair in the food. For a high-end hotel, such hygiene issues are inexcusable and raise serious food safety concerns. The privacy and security in the guest room were severely compromised. While someone was still in the room, a staff member knocked only once before immediately pushing the door open and looking directly towards the closet area. This was a grave infringement on guest privacy and a serious breach of security. When paying for a hotel room, guests are entitled to basic privacy. This incident was so severe it warranted calling the police. I felt a complete lack of security throughout my entire stay. The hotel's hardware and views are good, but the room management processes, breakfast hygiene, and staff entry protocols urgently need a complete overhaul. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers who prioritize privacy and hygiene. I hope the hotel takes this incident seriously, strengthens all-staff training, and prevents other guests from experiencing similar situations.

This hotel is really great! The location is fantastic, super convenient with a shopping mall right downstairs. Food is never an issue with plenty of options both in the mall and at nearby restaurants. The Sichuan Opera House is just across the street. The facilities are excellent too; the washing machine is a washer-dryer combo, and the pool is very clean and well-maintained. They even have a pickleball court and a gym. While the breakfast selection might not be as extensive as some other 5-star hotels, the quality is good, and they offer fresh-squeezed juices, which we really appreciated! We had an overnight train at 7 PM, and the hotel kindly extended our check-out until 2:30 PM. After checking out, we went for a swim, showered, grabbed dinner at the mall, and then headed for our train – it was perfect! This was, by far, the hotel my family unanimously liked the most on this trip.

Choosing the Four Points by Sheraton Chunxi Road for my trip to Chengdu was an excellent decision, five stars all around! First, let's talk about the location. It's right in the heart of the Chunxi Road area. Step downstairs, and you're in a bustling commercial district. IFS and Taikoo Li are within walking distance, and the subway is practically at your doorstep, making getting around incredibly efficient. The hotel facilities are very new, with smart features in the rooms, and the bedding is comfortable. There are many lounge areas on the first floor perfect for working, making it suitable for both business and leisure. The cleanliness is impeccable; every corner is neat and tidy, which made my stay very reassuring. The environment is a true oasis of calm amidst the bustling city, with old city views from the high-floor windows complementing the simple yet cozy interior. I particularly want to praise the service – from the warm and efficient reception at the front desk, to the meticulous cleaning by the housekeeping staff, and the thoughtful greetings from the restaurant personnel. Everyone had a genuine smile, and they responded to requests incredibly quickly, making me feel truly welcome. The chicken noodle soup for breakfast was authentic and delicious, and dining in the high-altitude restaurant was also a big plus. To have such a high-value stay experience in the city center is truly rare. Whether for business travel or leisure, this is an excellent choice. Next time I'm in Chengdu, I won't hesitate – I'll be staying here again!

For my trip to Jiuzhaigou, I ended up choosing the family room at this hotel. It's the third closest hotel to the park entrance, less than a 10-minute walk, so you don't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic. The large hot tub was a nice bonus too. Breakfast was just okay, but the room was clean and there's a laundry room available. Overall, I think it's a pretty good hotel for the Jiuzhaigou Valley entrance area.

The Xishang Hotel offers an amazing experience with attentive and prompt butler service. The food is made with fresh local ingredients and tastes authentic and delicious. The private hot spring is secluded and quiet, and the environment is tranquil and a great escape from the summer heat. Overall, the stay was very comfortable and I highly recommend it.
