Llangoed Hall was one of the best hotels we have ever visited because of its ambiance of peace and dignity, its position and the total commi**ent of its staff. We wanted to spoil ourselves after some traumatic times and visited for 3 days staying in a suite and included dinner each night. It was like stepping back in time walking around the gardens with incredible views stretching in three directions. The new owners are still refurbishing bits of it but nothing can detract from its majesty beauty. On a most important point the head chef and his team create delicious carefully chosen menus. Thank you to the manager Jeremy who steers this grand old house with complete dedication. If you think I am over exuberant stay a few days there .

Wow!! What a beautiful establishment. Set back from the road in pretty gardens with a maze, this lovely old building is just gorgeous. I had a very spacious room and bathroom with lovely views. Their is plenty safe parking and the restaurant served excellent meals. A very special experience to have spent the night here. Thank you.

Unfortunately it seems to be very much style over substance. Beautiful location and property. Short on staff which reflects on what should be a wonderful experience. We have already brought our recent stays shortcomings to the managements attention but the excuse of a shortage of local staff, when you have travelled a distance and looked forward to a night away, doesn't make it all better. In particular a full buffet style breakfast, including drinks, is more in tune with a motel than a country house with a helipad. It might have been tolerable if there was actually anything left other than crumbs and odd ends and no signs of staff to ask if there were going to be any replenishment. The list of misses is extensive.

A beautiful, snowy weekend with a fantastic room and dinner. An exhilarating walk to the local pub and a wonderful deep sleep, what can be better! The room was beautiful with White Stuff toiletries and complimentary biscuits and alcohol. The local pub, the Griffin, was busy with locals a log fire and a warm welcome.

I'm writing this review because I am incensed at the feedback this hotel provided on my wife's review. We booked Sunday lunch via the website for 2pm. On arrival we were told that our booking was for afternoon tea, that lunch ended at 1.30pm and it wasn't possible to book lunch for 2pm via the website and that the kitchens were closed. We showed the confirmation email but we're told that it must have been a glitch on the website. We were offered no apology. In their feedback the hotel claim they offered us various solutions, namely: to reschedule our lunch; afternoon tea at a discounted rate; and to make us lunch if we were prepared to wait. None of this is true. We were offered no option other than to take up the booking they had for afternoon tea. No mention of a discount was made although we wouldn't have taken up the offer anyway as we wanted lunch not tea. The offer to reschedule or wait to have lunch made are pure fabrications. We were effectively told we were lying in claiming to book lunch for 2pm even though it was still possible to do so when I checked their website later. I am not a serial complainer as my TripAdvisor history will confirm. I genuinely have never experienced this sort of dishonesty from a hotel or restaurant. Visit at your own risk.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Llangoed Hall that exceeded our expectations. The staff are all very friendly, with special mentions to 3 staff members in particular: The manager Jeremy, who lightened our mood with his warm welcome and good humour after our long journey. Abbie, who when booking our stay, was warm and very efficient and worked hard to tailor our visit to suit our needs. And finally the housekeeper, (I think was called Kay??), who kindly took time away from her busy schedule to show us around a couple of the bedrooms and share some of the hotels rich history. The food was superb. We especially savored the vegetarian Wellington with butternut squash and mushrooms. Though we passed on dessert, the offerings looked delectable. We're already eagerly anticipating our return visit to celebrate our anniversary later this year!

My wife and I got married at this stunning venue in March '24. We had an incredible day and any and all of our requests were met with enthusiasm and a smile. Abbie and Jeremy were always available in the run-up to the event which made the whole process very easy on us. On the evening itself, Margo was brilliant at ensuring the reception went as smoothly as possible and tailoring everything to give us the most personalised experience. Whether it was giving our greyhounds love and attention, sorting 75 doughnuts into vegan/not vegan or fetching granny a late-night coffee with 6 sugars (we were shocked as well!), there was no ask too big and that was our favourite part about Llangoed. Thank you all!

This is the most beautiful house in an idyllic setting. We came to celebrate a 70th birthday, albeit a bit early. It was a great offer including dinner. On arrival, we waited for someone to come to the reception desk. It then appeared we only had a booking for one room. However, this was quickly sorted and we had the most beautiful rooms. Dinner was uneventful even though we had decorated our table. There was literally one waitress on a busy night and were disappointed with the service and unfortunately with the food. The next morning, we did get an apology and on our second evening, we had lovely service and a much better dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and would recommend the hotel to anyone. But with more staff and a bit more attention to detail, it would be outstanding.

We have frequently visited Llangoed Hall for overnight stays, delicious afternoon tea and most recently for morning coffee. With its warming charm and understated elegance, it truly feels like a home away from home, made even more magical by the outstanding service. Jeremy, Abbie and all of the thoughtful staff make us feel like cherished family on each visit. Their warm hospitality and personalised care transform an already fabulous hotel into our absolute favourite countryside retreat. If you’re looking for a relaxing escape with a personal touch, look no further than the wonderful Llangoed Hall.
