"It is well known that hotels in Europe are relatively small. The design of the hotel is very good. The bed is comfortable but it is really too small! The hotel is a bit old and I can't see the canal in the room where I lived. It's a bit sad."

"The rooms are very beautiful and design, the scenery is beautiful next to the canal, the front desk staff is particularly warm and polite, the restaurant downstairs is very Amsterdam style, a large number of handsome men and women drinking and drinking coffee in the restaurant. Not good for parking, the room is small, maybe Amsterdam is so expensive"

"It's a small hotel. There was a great welcome from the friendly and fun reception staff. But the room very small and the room proportions are not good Makes staying in hotels difficult I came with my family which is highly not recommended. "It is value for money, the rate is lower than those hotels nearby central station. Can take bus or tram to central station with few stops only. Not many restaurants and supermarkets nearby and usually went out to central station for meal arrangements. The breakfast is great with various types of food. The hotel facilities were great and new. Nice design in wooden style and high ceiling. Appreciate with the balcony view. Friendly remind to place DND when taking shower as open washroom set up"

"A great room, great location, great staff. I can’t say anything else! A free minibar of cola. water and juice. A great addition. The room was nice and cool to my liking. The bed was soft and the pillows were perfect. The WiFi worked well. The curtains kept out the light so I could sleep late and the elevator only worked with a card to keep out intruders. "Fantastic hotel! Offers a great comfy clean room with all the things you need - except a kettle - you have to go down stairs for hot water - but I learnt take a n insulated water bottle and take it up to my room and make my tea (I had bought with me) in my room. There were cups provided in the room. Excellent breakfast and really easy to get to the central station."

GGuest Userbest hotel during my whole trip! room is clean and big. laundry room is self-service, just buy token at reception. detergent would be added automatically, no need to bring your own. bring seasoning and cooking oil if u plan to cook. they would give u washing liquid, sponge and towel at reception. right next to the metro and train station. some convenience store nearby.

TTravel TrixieFirstly the hotel is located directly in front of a tram which was very convenient for moving around locally in town, the rooms are well maintained and very nice. The breakfast buffet was amazing, would recommend adding it to your reservation as food in Amsterdam is quite expensive. We were checked in by Youssef, who was so nice, helpful and accommodating to my friends and I. Overall a wonderful experience and great customer service

GGuest UserOh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked. The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be. The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a ”taco” that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer. The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study. BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station. I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

GGuest UserI had a mix feeling about this hostel. The location is superb, close to the centraal station although you need to take the ferry to cross the river (don't worry, it's free). Upon arrival, the room is really clean. Bed sheet and cover were provided, thus I needed to make my own bed. Apparently, the room was not cleaned every day. During my 5 days stay, they only cleaned it twice. Also, the soap container in the toilet was broken, so the soap kept falling to the floor, which made an unpleasant mess. Curtains were also broken, so we slept every night with a see-through window. I reported this issue to the receptionist, but nothing was done to fix it. There is no communal kitchen as well, so I could not boil hot water to make my own tea or instant noodles. Everything is charged here. If you want to check in early, you need to pay. If you want to book the lower bunk bed, you also need to pay. I think the positive point of this accommodation is just the location, everything else was meh.

GGuest Userthe floors were disgusting. sticky and oily. i saw the cleaning lady only vacuum randomly and didn't mop the floor or anything. the staircase was narrow and really high. it was unsafe since they only had railing on one side and nothing on the other. i was assigned a room in 4th floor, i had a really hard time carrying my suitcase up and down. the toilet was quite clean, or at least it looked clean since the tiles were all black.

AAnonymous UserThe room was nice and spacious. The cleaning staff only changed the bed sheets and took out the trash, not our towels. The window in my room couldn't be closed tightly so the wind blew quite cold in the evening. The room didn't have a hair dryer as stated, I asked for a hair dryer at the reception but was told there were no available dryers at the moment. This was a bit disappointing.

GGuest UserLocation: it's a great location because it's only a less than 10 minute walk from the Amsterdam Central station. It's so convenient. But the hostel entrance/reception is located inside a pub/restaurant. Personally I have no problem with this. I just find this interesting. There was also a security-looking guy standing at the entrance at night every day too, so it was pretty safe. Cleanliness: it was very clean. Every day someone took out the trash and cleaned the bathroom for us, which I didn't expect. They gave us a new, clean towel every day too. I really like these things about the hostel. Service: It depends on who you meet. The ladies that I talked to were all friendly and helpful. But there was a guy that was rather unhelpful and rude. I asked, ”Do you have data sim cards?” He said, ”No, we don't provide for that.” (Of course I knew the hostel didn't provide sim cards for free; I was asking if the hostel *sells* sim cards.) I asked, ”Do you know where I can get one? I can't get on the internet with the hostel wifi.” He said, ”There's no problem with the hostel wifi, otherwise a lot of people would be complaining about it.” (I wasn't complaining about the hostel wifi wasn't working; I was asking if he knew where I could get a sim card since I couldn't get on the internet to look for them.) Facilities: I like that there was a curtain on each bed. The bed and the room were also spacious enough. The windows were almost soundproof, isolating all the noises from the people drinking downstairs. The bathroom was also very clean. The only thing I didn't like was that there were brown stains on the blanket, which looked disgusting. There was also space for luggages (it's on the 2nd floor) if you don't want to store them in your room. There was, however, no kitchen or common areas. But the room was big enough and had a table. It was ok for me. One thing I really didn't like were the people who stayed in my room. All of them were obnoxious: wouldn't clean up after using the bathroom (hair everywhere), leaving their stuff in the bathroom/on the table so others couldn't use the space/table, kept coughing all night (meaning they were sick) and wouldn't open the windows for ventilation. I hardly had a good night's sleep because they kept coughing at night. But this wasn't the hostel's fault. It's those people's problems. All in all, I recommend staying at this hotel.

LLauraVReview of Our Stay at a Hotel in Amsterdam We recently stayed at a hotel in Amsterdam and had a mix of positive and negative experiences. First, let's start with the positives: What We Liked: The premises were quite nice. There's a bar downstairs, which is a great spot to unwind. Additionally, there are a few supermarkets and a traditional Dutch bakery right across the street, which made grabbing snacks and breakfast super convenient. The location is fantastic—just an 8-minute walk to the train station and a 4-minute walk to the bus and tram stops, making it easy to get around the city. The room was just as shown in the pictures. The mattress was comfortable, and there was ample space to organize our belongings during our stay. The receptionists were really kind and welcoming, which made our check-in and stay more pleasant. We also enjoyed the style of the hotel, especially the lovely lobby with two pianos, a comfortable sofa, and some books and local information to relax and read. What We Didn't Like: While we had read other reviews about noise issues and poor sound isolation, we thought we'd be okay with it, considering our home is located in a town center near nightclubs. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The noise wasn't from people talking but from doors slamming. From 11 pm until 3 am, there was a constant door slamming that made the floor and walls in our room vibrate every two to three minutes. It felt like we were next to a staff room or had a very active neighbor. To be able to sleep, we had to watch a movie until the slamming finally stopped. This constant noise didn't allow us to rest properly, and we woke up later than we wanted the next day. The slamming continued on the following day, so we decided to stay out as late as possible to avoid it. Fortunately, around 2 am, the noise decreased, and we managed to sleep. Additionally, there was a funny smell in the corridors and the toilet. I found it unpleasant, but my husband wasn't bothered by it. If you are sensitive to smells, this might be something to consider. However, if you're not particularly sensitive, like my husband, it might not be an issue. Conclusion: Overall, while the hotel's location, amenities, and staff were great, the noise from door slamming and the smell in the corridors were significant drawbacks for us. If these issues could be addressed, it would make for a much more pleasant stay.

LloreleikvltWe had been really concerned after pre paying this hotel then reading bad reviews that had us convinced we would need to wear plastic suits the entire visit,, so I thought I'd give my review based around the concerns we had read, to try and be helpful ! some of the things were true , the sheets did come off the bed on mine but I wiggle but my friends both stayed on their beds. super annoying but I just slid it back on and you can always throw your cover over it instead and ask for another . Fortunately we didn't come across the bed bugs people mentioned !, the cat seemed happy and not flea ridden.. however the room was clean enough , no obvious mould. The beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was clean and quite nice It wasn't huge but had ample.space for our things in the triple person room . It's an old building with narrow windy stairs I'm glad the elevator worked. it's not a relax and sit in all day hotel..it's a place to sleep , shower ...charge your phone and keep your belongings. The coffee machine was fine as far as basic goes. The staff were fine There was a fifty euro deposit on the desk, we just asked for a receipt after other things mentioned in reviews and were given a written one with no problem on leaving . We were offered one free housekeeping day as we stayed 4 nights but opted not to use it due to theft mentioned in reviews.. We stayed at the main hotel so I don't know if all the bad reviews were from the other or we just got lucky with our room but we had no problems, and when I went rustling down before hours looking for coffee the guy did help me before reception opened. It's no paradise of a place , there are marks on the walls but faint...if you're fussy it's not the place for you but for the price and location, we really didn't mind it . It's a super great location as a base with a trendy area behind it And a really cool vegan restaurant a tiny walk away a pub downstairs and metro train a stone's throw away If you have the option to pay on arrival ask to see.your room first.you could take that route Just to be safe, but all up it was fine..3 women travelling together there was no unsafe feeling there . We didn't find it noisy.
