The Grand Palace Hostel

The hotel is generally very good, very clean, and the environment is very good. It is very quiet. There are 2 supermarkets next to it, as well as a flower market and a farmer’s market. It is only more than 10 minutes’ walk from the Grand Palace. The owner’s mother can speak Chinese, very She enthusiastically introduced the scenic spots and helped us to call the taxi. She helped us to call the taxi to the airport and the meter was only 320 Thai plants. When we came from the train station to the Grand Palace, there were only 200 plants without a meter.
Bangkok Bed and Bike

Bangkok Bed and Bike was definitely one of my favorite hostels I’ve stayed at on my travels. Their accommodation is clean, comfortable, and has everything you could need from food and beverages to bike tours and more! The location is at the heart of Old Town, perfect for visiting temples and local markets just steps away. The rooms come with air conditioning and the showers are always hot, which is a huge benefit compared to other hostels in Bangkok. Overall, my stay with Bangkok Bed and Bike has been absolutely wonderful - I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

What's not to like? From the moment that I arrived, everyone was kind and helpful. Actually, that started even before my arrival as they responded to a special request of mine to stay on the 2nd floor. The staff members here are seriously the best; be it the day staff, the evening staff, management, or the housekeeper... they are all a pleasure to be around. Even though I'm a solo traveler, I feel very comfortable going down to the cafe area to do homework and chat. The drinks that they make are also really tasty (I highly recommend the Lychee Italian Soda... yum!) I feel like I've been spoiled by the staff here, too, as they always give me something tasty to try. As for the room: HEAVEN!!! I had what has to be the most comfortable bed in my past 3 months of traveling. I feel like I am on a cloud. The room size is small but not so small that I can't move around. My luggage rolls easily under the table against the wall. If you stay here long, housekeeping is done every 3 days, but if you need anything the staff is quick to help. If you are sensitive to sounds, I suggest bringing earplugs (depending on the location of your room) since there are food vendors next to the poshtel. I don't feel like it's a bother since I enjoy the sounds of Thailand. My room did not have its own bathroom, but there were 3 toilets and 2 shower stalls on my floor that were always clean (note: if you book a room anywhere and it says shared bathroom, expect just that. A shared bathroom). There isn't a laundry facility here for guests but there are several options within minutes. The proximity to various temples and tourist sites is great. Also, if you need something last minute or get sick, there is a 7-Eleven and a pharmacy within 5 minutes of here. I enjoyed my stay here so much that I ended up staying an extra 6 days instead of going to a hostel I had previously booked. For a person who likes privacy when it's time to sleep, this has been prime. I will recommend this place to anyone I know and will definitely return again. :)

I really nailed it by choosing this hostel! From the common areas all the way to my sleeping area I loved everything. The breakfast is awesome and you can also snack some tea or coffee in the dining area. Laundry and dryer machine available at the deck by the way incredible temple and city view from this point! The location is superb, walking distance from Wat Pho Thai Massage School where I took the 5 days general Thai massage certification. I loved at the end of day go back to the hostel, take a shower and rest in the social area on the second floor, quite and comfortable. On the way I also enjoyed fine dining and local foods all in the same area. Don’t forget to visit old Siam mall for local foods. The Indian market is walking distance, you can visit the Sick’s Temple and bargain Indian souvenirs or fancy Saree’s. I will definitely stay there my next time in town!

Enjoyed my stay. Good value for money, friendly and helpful staff and I enjoyed my breakfast a great deal. Staff was particularly helpful in pointing out some good spots to visit on a rainy day where I didn’t have much on the itinerary. Would recommend and plan on staying again once lockdown travel restrictions are lifted. Interestingly, I met the aforementioned former receptionist, Mint Yanisa, in Melbourne, Australia, where she does “massage.” Working under a different name, she will remove all her clothes for $50 ($70 to touch) ) and “darling, you will end happy.” Needless to say this was a bit of a different experience as I came in simply with a sore back and ended up in coming in entirely different way, all for less than the cost of the massage itself! Unfortunately, after getting to know her better, she swindled me into loaning her thousands of a dollars for a visa that have yet to be repaid...I later learned that she already had a pending partner visa with a man who lived with his daughter and her mother. I know she used some of that money for Botox injections, so at least her features match her fake personality. I’ll blame myself for ignorance on that one, but I write this as a warning to just be careful if she ever returns to work at this establishment.
