Hotel Arts Barcelona

Barceloneta Barcelona|0.92km from El Cacador de Lleons
My daughter is currently studying abroad, and for her spring break we had planned on meeting in Barcelona, where neither of us had visited before. Freezing temperatures and snow in the United States unfortunately tampered with our plans, and I was then detained and unable to join her. At first I was nervous, but the Hotel Arts took amazing care of my daughter as she experienced her first solo vacation - and loved every moment. From all she has told me, it sounds like the Hotel Arts made a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience in every way. Special shout out to the incredible bar staff in the lobby bar who gave her an amazing list of restaurants, bars, and site recommendations. Bartenders Alex, Nicola and Diego, whose service went above and beyond, by her report, were welcoming, gracious, and terrific hosts. My daughter also tells me the woman who helped her with check in and check out was wonderfully friendly and helped her arrange a taxi for her departure and also gave some local tips. Her name, however, seemed Catalan and my daughter cannot remember how to spell it. On check-in my daughter was given both a spa and drink voucher, both of which were very much appreciated, and put to good use. In the room as well, was a lovely gift of fresh clementines, which I am told tasted wonderful. The location of the Hotel Arts is also perfect, sitting on the beach and close to attractions and public transportation. The amenities were also wonderful, and the gym was clean, spacious, and had lovely equipment. The property itself is gorgeous, with astounding views of the Mediterranean. This hotel truly held up to Ritz Carlton and 5 star standard, and every part of her experience far exceeded expectations. She couldn’t have been in safer hands and I am so glad she has such a good experience at the Hotel Art. She recommends it so highly that we are now changing our summer vacation plans from France to Barcelona. we look very much to returning to this amazing property!

Chic & Basic Born Boutique Hotel

Barcelona|0.32km from El Cacador de Lleons
Nicely situated on a quiet street in the Born district. Approx 15-20 min walk from Plaça Cataluña and the Aerobus stop or 2-5 min walk from the metro (Jaume I (L4).) There are plenty of good eateries in the vicinity. The hotel itself is small with not a huge number of rooms so is nice and quiet. A lift is available as the rooms are on the first floor. The decor is on the quirky side (may not be to everyone’s taste). The bed was huge and comfortable. On the down side the toilet space was small and I couldn't flush the toilet (although my husband said there was a knack to it!!). The shower cubicle was in the middle of our room (as stated on the room description) and may not suit everyone but other types of room are available. There is a shared area with seating, art books & good quality tea & coffee making facilities plus a minibar. Reception is located next door along with breakfast/snack area and a small bar/lounge area. We didn’t have breakfast included so can’t comment on what it was like (€9 pp) - we ate at the lovely cafes and bakeries along the street. Our room was clean at first glance but there was an old water bottle and some make up left under the bed (from how long ago we have no idea!) There is a secure facility for leaving bags and suitcases although I didn’t see anything mentioned about a safe facility at all during our stay. Free Wi-fi is available and worked very well. There is a very small “gym” with a couple of pieces of equipment available (we didn’t use it). The room had a tv, air con and shower gel, shampoo and hand wash to use. Staff were always pleasant and helpful and spoke good English. Overall great value for money, excellent location and we’d definitely stay there again.

Motel One Barcelona-Ciutadella

The customer service is young, friendly and lively like Barcelona. The lobby, first floor bar and roof terrace are all modern and comfortable. The rooms are very small but small and are designed to be easy to use. The bedding and chairs are of good quality and very comfortable. The quality of the bedding and furniture is higher than the five-star hotel we stayed in Dubai, and it seems that we are considering the comfort of our customers. There is also a city bus right next to the hotel to Park Guell. It's a shame that the kettle and tea aren't there, but it wasn't a problem as it was about a 10-minute walk to the Bole district where delicious bars and cafes are open until midnight.

A relatively inexpensive hotel for Barcelona with its concept. Very cool location, you can walk to all the main sights, to Barcelona Beach - 20 minutes. Responsive staff, good breakfast. A pleasant compliment in the form of a shopping and chup-chup 🙃

This was one of the best holiday experiences that we've had. The young staff were quietly fantastic. We were given a warm welcome and checked in quickly. The room staff, reception staff and breakfast staff were all great. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they were all warm and friendly. The room was spacious with a good shower room. We had a cosy balcony room. The balcony was small but afforded a nice view of the avenue outside. It was worth the small amount extra as an inside room would have had no view at all. We had heard a lot about pick pockets and did have an experience of one on a local bus (who was summarily hounded off by locals who checked on us - he hasn't actually come near to us!) But this area felt really safe. We travelled a lot in Barcelona and didn't find a nicer area in our opinion. There were loads of fantastic places to eat within yards of the hotel. Great variety for a range of budgets. We were within walking distance of the beach, gothic quarter and other areas. Bus stops were right outside the hotel. We used this for a visit to Sagrada familia and park Guell. The rooftop bar and pool were superb. Although the pool is small, it was never overwhelmed and we spent most afternoons there. We simply could not fault the hotel. This is the only review I've written for anything but felt we had to say thank you.
Ant Hostel Barcelona

Overall I liked the hostel and would have given a higher rating if not for the fact one very basic thing was missing. Locks on the showers. The “shared module” was a small 4 bed space inside a larger room with 2 more modules (and yes you can hear everybody from the other modules too unfortunately). Each module has its own bathroom where the toilet is separate and lockable but the shower area (with a curtain) and sink area is not lockable at all. Nor is the door to your “module” so any of the 12 people that have a key to your room could walk in at any time. This left an uncomfortable feeling for me and not having a lockable door in the module was also not great especially when others in the room were noisy. However, I found the staff very friendly. I liked the 24/7 reception which was reassuring and the location is good. The bed was comfortable. For the sake of adding a lock to the bathroom so that we can have a shower in private I think that wouldn’t cost much and be a big improvement so please do take this onboard. It seems that other reviews have also highlighted not being able to lock their “private module” areas too so hopefully you’ll take feedback and make improvements as it’s a shame that these small things are letting you down. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend to others if these minor improvements (but major concerns) are addressed.

Arc House Barcelona

The ambient is good but you need a decent service as well, especially regarding room and bathroom. I choose to pay more to have a bed in a shared 4 bedroom instead of 8. This what I found: no heating, cold room because the a/c wasn't working properly (daily temperature outside was 9° and 4° in the night), no linen to cover my body under the duvet (it's supposed somebody else used the duvet before me so it's not hygienic I cannot separate my body from the duvet with a linen), no automatic locker (you need a locket but they didn't inform you before when you reserve), the height available under the upper bed is not enough ample (I hit my head hard when I doubled my knees to access the locker under my bed. Same problem when you wake up, if you forget the height is not enough between the 2 beds you inevitably hit your head. Very unpleasant.), no personal bed light as normally available in all other hostel I visited. Bathroom and shower for men are separated, while for women are all together. Why, I wonder this difference? Why women always are treated better? It's not supposed we are equals? Well, I'm really unsatisfied and I suggest you, people, to avoid this hotel. Management is running it with the typical Catalan mentality: very greedy. They give poor services so they can have better profit. Not acceptable!!!
