"My stay here was a delightful surprise! The hotel kindly upgraded me to a premium king room free of charge. My room was on a high floor with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offering a fantastic view. The space inside was bright and spacious, with plenty of natural light, and everything was spotlessly clean with no strange odors. Free parking downstairs was a huge plus, making it super convenient for those traveling by car. The facilities were excellent and made for a comfortable stay, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. It offers incredible value for money. This will definitely be my top choice for accommodation whenever I'm in town again!"

RRaolunvwangSea View: 100 points! The panoramic view of Gulangyu, Yanwu Bridge, and the illuminated Twin Towers all add to its charm. It's beautiful both day and night. Service: A butler contacted us in advance to inquire about our needs and arrange the room. Any issues during our stay were promptly resolved. Breakfast: The breakfast view was excellent, and the variety of dishes was rich. It was a standard, good quality breakfast. Transportation: Very convenient indeed. It's only about twenty minutes to the airport. The beach, Xiamen University, and Nanputuo Temple are all nearby. It's just a five-minute walk to Shapowei, and getting a taxi is easy.

YYemingmingmingI stayed for three nights, and the room was cleaned promptly by the staff every day. The Western restaurant's breakfast had slight variations daily, and I enjoyed some unique local Minnan specialties like 'mianxian' (thin rice noodles), 'caiguo' (vegetable dumpling), and 'gongtang' (peanut brittle). The hotel is conveniently located opposite the BRICS Convention Center and just a five-minute walk to the beach, making it a great choice for a relaxing getaway. Getting around is easy too, with Metro Line 2 nearby. Taxis to other places are affordable; it's about 20-30 RMB to Zhongshan Road and only about 10 kilometers to the high-speed train station. There were plenty of welcome perks, including complimentary drinks and a travel photo shoot. I didn't get a chance to use the complimentary sailing experience due to time constraints, so I'll save that for my next visit.

GGuest UserOur experience was fantastic! As soon as we drove up, a bellhop jogged over to open the door, immediately helped with our luggage, and directed us to parking. When checking in, the front desk agent, Sophia, noticed I had a child and proactively upgraded our room and brought over kids' toiletries. After checking out, I realized I'd forgotten a book, and when I called, they found it right away. Their perfectly balanced enthusiasm made us feel incredibly welcome. The bedding was high-thread-count and super comfortable, making for a very refreshing sleep. The double vanity, separate walk-in closet, and extra-large bathtub all exuded comfort. As for breakfast, it was incredibly rich and varied; everything you could want was there. We had a great time eating with the kids.

The location is absolutely perfect – it's just a few minutes' walk along the coast from the Sanchietian Pier, so you don't have to drag your luggage up hills. Plus, the hotel staff meet you upon arrival, which saves a lot of effort and worry. Just a few steps outside, and you're on Longtou Road Snack Street, making exploring and eating incredibly convenient. It’s lively yet quiet, and not noisy at all. The century-old banyan tree in front of the hotel stands as a witness to the passage of time. The room was clean, dry, and free of dampness. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the smart toilet was a nice touch. The bedding was soft, ensuring a very restful sleep. The front desk service was gentle and attentive. They patiently recommended lesser-known spots and authentic local snacks on the island. Luggage storage and travel guidance were all perfectly arranged. This trip to Gulangyu was exceptionally comfortable. The sea view, environment, service, and location were all top-notch. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time, and I strongly recommend it to any friends visiting Gulangyu to stay for a few nights!

GGuobao^_^Overall, it was pretty good. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. The pier is about 500 meters from the entrance, and it's just a fifteen-minute boat ride to Xiamen No. 1 Pier, making it easy to go anywhere. A concierge even proactively helped us with directions to the pier; he was really enthusiastic 👍. The ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island was only 35 RMB, and the hotel breakfast was decent too. Regarding the upgrade to a deluxe sea-view room (subject to availability on the day): I booked a superior sea-view room, and the front desk upgraded us to a deluxe sea-view family room. For the mini-bar, you need to proactively contact the front desk for refills. Also, for the cute little souvenir doll included in the package, you need to ask the front desk for it. It's a really adorable doll 🥰

IIain13This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again. The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy. The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning. The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere. I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance. This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in our room offered breathtaking, expansive views of Gulangyu Island, perfect for catching both sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed the clear blue sea by day and the twinkling lights by night. The staff were incredibly attentive and warm throughout our stay, providing meticulous service. They even extended our check-out time so we wouldn't have to rush for our train, which was a thoughtful touch. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel's location made getting around a breeze. With amazing views and heartwarming, personalized service, it's convenient for all your travel needs. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Xiamen! A big thank you to the front desk lady, to the cleaning staff for their late-night service, and to the welcoming and departing gentleman!

AAmy D。This ended up being our favorite stop in all of the China trip. The hotel was fantastic. This is the first adjoining rooms hotel that was conceptualized to be a family hotel as opposed to just mean two rooms next to each other. It was amazing to have the ability to have the kids run between the two rooms have but double bathrooms great closet space good floor plan. The location is also really nice. We look forward to coming back in seen another time this was a great hotel. I cannot emphasize how much we enjoyed this hotel.

GGuest UserThis trip to Xiamen, I chose the Chunguang Hotel on Zhongshan Road, and it was a true hidden gem! The front desk lady was incredibly thoughtful; not only did she help us plan our Gulangyu itinerary, but she also reminded us to buy ferry tickets during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds. Those little details really added to the experience! The location is absolutely unbeatable—turn left out of the hotel and you're right on Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, with famous old eateries like Huang Zehe Peanut Soup and 1980 Shaorou Zong (roasted pork dumplings) just a stone's throw away. Turn right, and in 5 minutes you're at the Eighth Market (Bashi), and I'm still dreaming about the golden crispiness of Ah Jie Wuxiang (five-spice fritters). The biggest surprise was that the hotel faces the Gulangyu ferry terminal directly. Strolling at night, watching the lights across the water, I instantly 'got' the romance of old Xiamen.
