"This is a wonderful hotel to stay at when visiting Fenghuang. Its about 15min taxi ride from train station and right to the hotel front door for 26 yuan. The staff are super friendly and helpful - communicate to them via wechat. I had a 25kg suitcase and staff carried it up 2 flights of stairs for me, theres no lift. The room and view is as pictured - has everything you need for a pleasant stay. 1 full day is enough to see everything - started around 10.30am and went back to hotel by 4.30pm to shower and rest then ventured out after 7pm for dinner and the night lights... got back at 10.30pm. If you pay extra to visit the local historical attractions and watch the show then its best to stay 2 nights - I just wandered the streets, ate and shopped. Theres some very nice and cheap souvenirs here! I really enjoyed my time in Fenghuang thanks to the hotel and staff. Simply amazing! Highly recommend this hotel. It may look far from ancient town centre on the map but only 10min walk. Wear comfy shoes, you will get a good workout exploring here!"

"The guesthouse is located on a commercial street right next to the ancient town. Be aware that the street is quite narrow for vehicles, making it tricky to pass other cars. Upon arrival, the owner thoughtfully led us to parking on an electric scooter and then brought the driver back to the guesthouse, which was very convenient. The highlight for us was the guesthouse's balcony, offering direct, unbeatable views of the ancient town! Even when the bars in the old town were lively at night, the guesthouse remained remarkably quiet with the doors and windows closed, ensuring our rest was completely undisturbed. There are plenty of great food options nearby, and you can step directly into the ancient town from the building. Overall, it was a decent stay. However, a significant drawback was the lack of hot water for showers in the evening. It seemed hot water might not be supplied late at night, as our entire family ended up taking cold showers."

"Upon entering the guesthouse, a subtle floral scent greeted me, immediately lifting my spirits. I absolutely adored the beautiful view from the balcony; it was so captivating that I wished I could sit there all day. While the room wasn't huge, it was perfectly adequate. The guesthouse hosts were incredibly warm and friendly. A special thank you to the lady owner for helping me arrange a taxi. Many thanks! My trip was truly enhanced by meeting all of you."

"The scenic area is in the central area and very convenient. The store clerks are friendly and approachable. The staff helped me to get my luggage from the scenic area entrance and climb the stairs to the room. Be mentally prepared. It’s not easy."

"Firstly, we booked a street side room, but I saw the room with a balcony over the river and it is well-worth the upgrade!! Highly recommend splurging for the river view. The owner/manager was great, spoke English, and was very helpful. He met us where the taxi dropped us and assisted with carrying our luggage. He did the same when we left, which was much appreciated. If you book pretty much any of the hotels along the river, you will need to walk a bit and it might be a bit difficult. One thing to be mindful of is that there are a lot of mosquitoes in the vicinity. That’s just part of the experience being along the river. The hotel provides a plug in device for mosquitoes and once you turn on the a/c, the mosquitoes tend to go away. Still, you may want to bring some bug spray. There were a couple other types of bugs around, but overall not too unpleasant. Again, nothing much any of the river-side inns can do about it. We stayed for just one night so even though the room is small, we managed ok. Overall, we highly recommend this inn, but go for the riverside view with balcony. It’s beautiful and you will be able to take very cute photos there."

"The staff are so lovely. Even if we had no common language to communicate, they added us to wechat and did their best to explain us everything. Location is fantastic and the room has incredible views and is super clean. It may be a bit difficult to get to the scenic area from the train station but dont get fooled. We paid 80rmb and the actual taxi fare is ~30."

"We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great—slightly away from the main tourist areas, so it’s peaceful and less crowded, yet still very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to find food and essentials. The hotel faces the river, offering a nice view, and you don’t have to drag your luggage over any rocky paths—the car can drive right up to the entrance, which is a big plus. We stayed in the rooftop room on the 4th floor. While there’s no elevator, the staff were very helpful and carried our luggage up during check-in and back down when we checked out. The owner and staff were all friendly and accommodating, which made the stay even more enjoyable."

"Our hotel stay was in a suite with a spacious balcony offering a stunning view of Hong Bridge (虹桥, Hóngqiáo) in Fenghuang. At night, the bridge was beautifully illuminated, creating a breathtaking scene. The hotel owner, Ah Ming, provided excellent service, always taking great care of us. He helped carry our luggage and even offered a shuttle service to and from the train station. The heating system, including the room heater, worked perfectly, ensuring a warm and comfortable stay. Ah Ming was incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to assist and provide useful information throughout our stay. This hotel truly offers one of the most spectacular views—an absolutely unforgettable experience!"

"Had a fantastic stay at Jianyun Riverview Hostel. The location is fantastic as it is a minute’s walk from the main road where I got dropped off but it is also by the river and about 20 meters from the tower and about 100 meters from the central bridge. It is right in the middle of the ancient city with attractions in both directions. The room and the bathroom are modern, and well done. The views from the room are perfect and there are comfortable seats with views of the river for relaxing. The front desk staff Xiao Zhang helped with all my queries using WeChat translate and went above and beyond in ensuring a comfortable stay. The only issue was that the noise in the ancient city dies down only after 11pm but that’s not the hotel’s fault. All in all, a fantastic stay that rivals my stay in the Gdansk waterfront and at a fantastic price."

"The Tuojiang River view from the window was spectacular, especially at night. The incredibly thoughtful staff gave us a complimentary upgrade to a spacious family room, and our kids absolutely loved it. Drifting off to sleep with the gentle sound of the river, the whole experience was just perfect. We'll definitely be returning!"
