Hamburg Hotels with Gym

My stay at the Crowne Plaza Hamburg - City Alster was absolutely superb. From the moment I arrived, the elegant and professional atmosphere was noticeable. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a incredibly comfortable bed and a fantastic view. The location is also ideal for both enjoying the beautiful Alster lake and accessing the city center. It’s the attentive service and premium amenities that set this hotel apart. I felt thoroughly pampered and would not hesitate to return for another luxurious stay.

This shouldn't be rated five stars. Compared to hotels in major domestic cities, both the service and hardware are inferior to something like 'All Season Hotel'. It's more on par with an Intercontinental's Holiday Inn. But the service? It's probably worse than a three-star hotel. I dislike bringing up regional differences in service, so I'll just state the objective facts: 1. I've never encountered a hotel, not even a B&B, that would just assign a different room type than what was booked without so much as a greeting or an explanation. I was so exhausted that I didn't even have the energy to communicate or request a room change after entering the room, so I'll just give a bad review. I booked a king-sized bed, but when I walked in, it was clearly two single beds. I don't mind, but at least say something! 2. Hardware: Is this room a renovation? There's a door in the middle of the room connecting to the adjacent room, secured only by two simple locks. It seems the person on the other side could also open it, just like me. If you're going to renovate, why not do it thoroughly? What's the point of having a door that anyone can open? (See picture) 3. Hygiene: There were quite a few towels, but hardly any were clean. Most had disgusting stains. (See picture) 4. The uncle who helped store my luggage at the entrance had a great service attitude. I gave him a 5 euro tip. The front desk staff maintained politeness and respect, but it's nowhere near a five-star hotel experience. 5. The location is acceptable. 6. I booked this quite last minute, and the price was reasonable. Booking in advance might offer better rates. Around 1500 per night in Europe could be considered cheap, but please don't brand it as a 5-star hotel. It's truly misleading.

The hotel is well-located, just a 5-minute walk from the train station and not too far from the city center. Our room overlooked a quiet inner courtyard. The room itself was quite spacious and pleasant. However, the cooling system wasn't very powerful. Also, the double bed is small, and the thick duvet makes a lot of noise and wakes up both people as soon as one moves (and makes you hot).

Overall the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Two points worth noting that guests should be aware of: 1. The curtain pocket (the part at the top that hides the curtain rail) is not deep enough, so plenty of light comes in around it. For people use to full blackout in bedrooms, this may be disturbing - especially when the sun rises in the morning. 2. As noted in some other reviews, the pillows are EXTREMELY low density. They are so low density, that there is close to zero support once lying on them and the weight of your head has compressed the filling (down I think). I fortunately brought my own pillow, however if I had not, this review score would be much lower as it would have made it difficult for me to sleep the pillows are so unusually soft/airy.

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt im Hotel. Das Frühstück war fantastisch und das Familien-Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Leider gab es im Bad und im Zimmer wenig Abstellmöglichkeiten (z.B. einen Schrank oder Hocker) für unsere persönlichen Sachen. Für vier Personen wäre dies wünschenswert. Wir kommen aber gerne wieder.

The location: The hotel is extremely centrally located. All major attractions are easily accessible. The highlight: The view from our room was simply breathtaking and unforgettable. The breakfast: The morning buffet was very extensive and offered a huge selection of fresh dishes. There was something for every taste. Conclusion: An all-around successful weekend. We will definitely come again!

Great Location and Reliable Comfort in Hamburg! I stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Hamburg City Centre for two nights and had a wonderful experience. Location: Very convenient. Can take the city bus from the main train station (Hbf) and stop at Repsoldstraße which is directly infront of the hotel. Rooms: Clean, modern, and well-designed. The bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent despite being central. Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast had a great variety of hot and cold options. Staff: Friendly, welcoming, and quick with the check-in process.

I was very satisfied with the service and the staff. The location is ideal in terms of the subway and commuter rail connections.

Check-in was officially from 3:00 PM. I arrived at 2:15 PM – the room was already ready according to the front desk. Despite this, I was told in an extremely uninterested and unenthusiastic tone that I would have to pay an extra €10 if I wanted to check into the room immediately. So, it wasn't about the room not being available yet, but purely about an additional fee for 45 minutes of early access – even though the room was ready. I find this behavior to be nothing short of a rip-off. After I politely declined to pay, I was demonstrably ignored until shortly before 3:00 PM. No accommodation, no friendliness, no sense of service. I have rarely experienced such disinterest and lack of enthusiasm at a front desk. A successful stay begins with a professional welcome – unfortunately, the opposite was true here. Very disappointing.
