"On a business trip to Dalian, I chose the Mercure Dalian Friendly Hotel. The location is great, making it easy to get around, and the hotel service is excellent. They even provide complimentary fruit upon check-in, and all the staff are warm and friendly. The room is also well-maintained, with a clean toilet and shower, and good ventilation. If I get the chance to visit Dalian again, I'll definitely choose this place."

"I'd highly recommend this hotel to everyone! It's easy to find and super convenient for food, drinks, and entertainment. I booked it for my friend, and they told me it was excellent – spacious, not cramped at all, and with great soundproofing, so they had a really peaceful night's sleep. The staff were warm and attentive, genuinely caring and thoughtful. Overall, the hotel is clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. It'll definitely be my top choice for every trip!"

"I had a very satisfying stay. The location is excellent, making it convenient to get to various places. There's a direct passage on the fourth floor to the mall, which is entirely dedicated to restaurants and an IMAX cinema. On the first basement floor, there's a supermarket and a florist. I bought live seafood from the supermarket and had the vendor steam it for me to take back to my room – the flower crabs and conches were absolutely amazing. Parking is available right outside, free of charge. The room facilities are great; the shower head and water temperature were perfect, and I used the washer and dryer multiple times. The hairdryer is also high-speed. Overall, everything was ideal."

"The location is excellent, just an eight-minute walk from Dalian Station. Downstairs is Qingniwaqiao Subway Station, directly opposite Pavilion shopping mall, and next to Dashang. From the bus stop in front of Pavilion, you can take a direct bus to Forest Zoo and Yinshatan Beach, and even reach a good photo spot for the cross-sea bridge. Taking the subway to Xinghai Square, Xinghai Park, and Sea-rhyme Park is also very convenient. It's definitely my top choice for accommodation."

"Booked 2 rooms on a higher floor to enjoy the city views. Unfortunately there was a noticeable toilet smell in both rooms. Reporting this to the hotel staff we were allocated alternative rooms. They still had a smell but it was less pungent than the others. Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago, its showing signs of tiredness in fixtures, fittings and facilities. We were told the hotel will be refurbished in the year ahead. Breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection of western and Asian cuisines. It gets busy, especially at the weekend. There is a decent sized pool though the changing rooms are in need of refurbishment to bring it up to the standard of other 5 star properties in the city. Room rates are currently low to reflect the hotels current situation, as told by a manager when the room smell was reported. Still a great stay thanks to its location and breakfast offering and the room rates. Look forward to its refurbishment in the future."

"The front desk staff were very friendly, and the hotel's cleanliness was basic but acceptable for the price – no major issues that would prevent a five-star rating. However, there are a few things I need to mention. On the first day of my stay, I requested two disposable razors. One of them was already opened, had no shaving cream inside, and the blade was even assembled. I'm not sure if it had been used before. Also, the tissues by the bed in the room – I counted them, and only nine had been used before they ran out. The toilet paper in the bathroom was also a small roll when I checked in, and after just four uses, it was gone. It seems these consumables weren't replaced with every new guest. I also want to complain about how thin the bedside tissues are; they're about one-third the thickness of normal tissues and really poor quality – thin and easily fall apart. Then, when checking in, I specifically said I didn't need housekeeping. Yet, at 10 AM the next morning, I was woken up by loud knocking. The cleaning lady said she was there to clean, which ruined any chance of sleeping in afterward. Furthermore, the TV in the room was hit or miss. The first few times I tried to turn it on, the remote control didn't respond, and the set-top box flashed red, indicating a fault. Later, it suddenly started working, but only if you were very close to the TV; otherwise, the remote wouldn't respond. Finally, there's the issue of sound insulation between rooms and the ceiling. The soundproofing isn't great; I could clearly hear conversations from the adjacent room and the upstairs guests. However, the window insulation is good – being double-paned, it blocked out most of the outside noise."

Breakfast offered a rich and diverse selection of both Chinese and Western dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and the taste was great, perfectly satisfying different dietary needs. The cleaning staff were meticulous and attentive, cleaning promptly and quietly without disturbing guests. Any requests made to the front desk were quickly responded to and resolved efficiently and courteously – their service efficiency and attitude were flawless. The location is also superb, with convenient transportation. Nearby, there are supermarkets, shops, and various dining options, making it incredibly convenient whether you're traveling for sightseeing, shopping, or business. The value for money is definitely among the best in its class. I will choose this hotel first next time I'm in the area and will recommend it to my friends. A hotel that puts such care into its service and pays attention to details truly deserves a perfect rating!"
