Family-friendly Hotels in Kunming

Walking distance to green lake. Hotel reception provides baguette for free so that you can use it to feed the seagulls at green lake. Staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. They helped me to receive my taobao parcels and recommended places that I can visit, not just in kunming but for my next leg in dali as well. Super clean and spacious room. Love it.

Great place to be based in to check out Kunming. There are daily planned activities which we didn’t participate in due to the lack of time. We needed up paying for breakfast despite the booking saying breakfast was included so we would recommend to clarify that beforehand. The restaurant has ample vegetarian options and although we only ate breakfast at the restaurant it seemed like a great option for lunch and dinner. We went to bed early as we weren’t feeling well and the hostel was a bit noisy until about midnight. After that it was quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

I would definitely recommend CitiGo hotel. The service staff were all very friendly and helpful. My sister and her friend arrived in the early hour of the morning to the hotel. The staff was very kind to arrange an early check in for them so that they could take a nap comfortably in the room instead of resting at the sofa area of the hotel. The staff also arranged access to its gym for my daughter at 7.30am although the gym opens only at 10am. There was a wide spread of food at their buffet breakfast. Little gestures by the hotel like provision of small tube of hand cream (placed at the staff counter) was very much appreciated and it shows the hospitality and generosity of the hotel owner. We also realised that they serve wanton soup for supper to its guests. We were full from dinner to try it although it does look and smell delicious. Yes would come back to this hotel if I visit Kunming again.

The hotel is in a good location however, the staff are professional but not very helpful except one lady at the front desk and the housekeeping staff they are amazing. Everyone else kinda stuck up and not willing to answer questions or even help with simple delivery address. But if your not the easily upset type it's a good hotel in a great part of town.

Hotel ammenties are good and the room is spacious. . Hotel is located very close to train station. Hotel staff are very friendly. Hotel staff Mr Jesse helped me with Tour arrangements and he communicated promptly. Really appreciate that. The buffet breakfast is good with a wide selection. The staff always offered to make coffee for me when I stepped into the restaurant. Highly recommended hotel stay for all.

I've stayed in dozens of ”5-star” hotels throughout China (inc. one in Hangzhou that was horrifying!); Kunming's Intercontinental is a TRUE 5-star hotel. The service, amenities, extensive grounds, and rooms are all top tier. The location is great for the West Lake scenic spot (other than that it's quite far from the city hubbub... to be expected when the hotel grounds require a fold-out map!). The dinner & breakfast were excellent (although all the fanciest dinner options were seafood, if that matters to you). Pay the little bit extra, stay at this hotel, you won't regret it.

I spent the Spring Festival in Kunming this year and chose the Howard Johnson Hotel in Kunming for three nights and four days. Overall, it was very good. First, the location is more than 10 kilometers and more than 20 minutes away from the city center by car, which is relatively far, but it is not bad to take a taxi; second, the hotel facilities are relatively complete, and there are many people staying during the Spring Festival; the hotel itself has a large shopping mall, but there is not much to visit, and many are sold to group tourists staying in. There is a local cross-bridge rice noodle restaurant that has good reviews; third, the hotel is more suitable for family travel, and there is a large playground, which is very good for bringing young children; fourth, the hotel room type is relatively old, but the stay experience is not bad, the breakfast is also relatively rich, and there are some activities during holidays. The most praiseworthy thing is that the hotel service is particularly good. In general, it is worth recommending.

Crown plaza brand hotels have always been good. However, a lot of things are wrong now. We stayed at this hotel and felt discomfort. It was very cold in the room. The air conditioner could not heat our hotel room. People go to breakfast in winter clothes because it is very cold there too and the food is not tasty as it always gets cold very quickly.

I and my 15 yo son had stayed in Jinjiang Hotel in the beginning of my trip in Yunnan and the end of my trip. It was my first time visiting China. We don't speak Mandarin Location: very close to Kunming Railway Station, around 10 minutes walk carrying luggage. Close to everywhere, around 2 km or 15-17 RMB by taxi to Shuncheng Shopping Centre, Nanping Pedestrian Street, Shuncheng Mosque, halal restaurant (only 5 minutes walk from restaurant), nearby shopping centre and department store. Service: excellent services, they went above and beyond especially Manager Ms Mei. She helped me so much to organise tour. All staff were helpful assisting me to get a taxi, show me the halal restaurant on the back of the hotel, show me the way to station. The hotel also provide welcome fruit and soup upon check in. Cleanliness; very clean Value for money: 4 star hotel yet very affordable with excellent 5 star hotel services. I would love to stay again in the future if I visit Yunnan.

Very family friendly hotel, great service, beautiful scenarios and delicious breakfast. My kid enjoyed their swimming pools and garden area so much and kept mentioning them after we left. I should also mention that the photography package came along with the hotel reservation was such an excellent deal. Our photographer 梨子 from 恒壹旅拍 was super professional and patient with kids. We are really satisfied with the experience and enjoyed the beautiful photos we got to take home with.
