Always lovely to be back. What makes it worthwhile is that the staff are friendly and very conscious of the guests. Many have been working here a long time so that really says a lot about the company.
I got the room across from the park which is very nice when it’s blue skies!
If you have food needs - do try the local places around the corner from different types of cuisines and also the other side of the cross roads.
It was great to get a small fridge this time - but apparently you do need to ask for one if you are staying longer periods. They will bring it to you.

The Metro Line 10 is super convenient, and there are several Japanese restaurants right downstairs, so dining out is a breeze. The hotel itself is great too – it's brand new with really nice decor. Gubei is full of Japanese restaurants, though I noticed exhibition materials were quite a bit more expensive.

I want to express my special thanks to Ms. Amandawang at the front desk for her truly wonderful service during my stay. This was my first time staying here, and she patiently explained all the hotel facilities, including the gym and pool, during check-in. The overall hotel environment is excellent, and it's very close to Hongqiao Airport and the high-speed rail station. The room hygiene was very comforting; this old brand hotel certainly does a great job in that regard. I've already recommended it to my friends. It's definitely my top choice for business trips and travel. Thank you, Amanda!

A perfect stay! The hotel's location is excellent, the room was spacious, quiet, and very clean, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and varied.
On the day I checked in, I missed dinner and ended up with low blood sugar. The restaurant was busy with a group of Indian guests who had pre-booked a meal. A staff member, perhaps noticing I was very hungry, very kindly brought me two bowls of millet porridge.
As someone who travels frequently for business, it's rare and truly appreciated to find a hotel where the staff are so kind and provide prompt service. After all, this wasn't part of the hotel staff's duties, especially since the hotel doesn't even offer dinner service. Yet, this staff member, despite clearly being very busy, immediately noticed a guest's need and went above and beyond their job scope. This is the greatest kindness you can show a guest. I believe this reflects the great care and culture instilled by the company, truly a hallmark of an excellent establishment.
I extend my sincere thanks to all the hotel's management and staff, especially that particular team member 🙏.

This hotel is a hidden gem, offering a tranquil escape right in the heart of the city. The entrance is unassuming, but once you step inside, it's like entering a different world with beautiful gardens and water features. It's a shame the weather wasn't great, so I couldn't explore them much. The hotel service was absolutely impeccable. Mia at the front desk was fantastic and even helped me get a complimentary upgrade. The room was truly excellent – spacious and very comfortable, and the night view was simply unbeatable. CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed.
Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free.
The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all.
Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

We booked 2 Queen-sized rooms for family of 3 adults & 3 children, and got 1 room free-upgraded to King-sized for more convinience. We were warmly welcomed by Lucas from FO - the only person can speak English we met during the whole trip to Shanghai. He managed to help us arrange the best room & offered reakfast for my 8-year-old kid.
Delivery service is modern with the help of robot.
It’s quite pity that when we arrived under heavy rain, there’s no bellman assisting us with luggages.

Right after checking in, the front desk staff, with a smile, handed me a welcome snack – fragrant popcorn, and even two extra bottles of drinks. This feeling of being valued was especially nice. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable and soft, and you could see the care in every detail. When you're traveling, the last thing you want is to be hungry or thirsty, and I never expected the hotel to have thought of these little things ahead of time. Although they were just small complimentary items, they perfectly reflect the warmth of their service. Next time I'm in this city, this will definitely still be my first choice!

The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus!
However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices.
Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort.
On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.

JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined.
First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience.
Now, for the less satisfying aspects:
1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one.
2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them.
3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.
