I extended my stay in Modena by Fraser at Wujiaochang because I had a good stay here. This is my second review of this place, which should be read with my first review. My first review (one of the first three reviews of this place) forgot to mention about the breakfast, room price, and to provide photos. These will be covered by my second review now. First, about the breakfast. This place is so new that the breakfast comes in a set meal bento box delivered directly to your room by a robot at a time of your preference. The breakfast dining area was not yet open for meals during my stay so I was unable to try or review it. But Leo from the hotel says that the dining area should open sometime next week. In any case, the seat meal breakfast was filling and decent as an interim breakfast solution. Second, the room price. I paid around CNY 512 per night, breakfast being complimentary. I find this to be value for money. I enjoyed the facilities of the hotel/service apartment, especially the in-room washer and dryer, which is very convenient. Many other hotels do not have a washer and dryer in the room itself, but this place does. Third, the photos. These will show that the room provides a good amount of storage space for clothes, shoes, and more. The mirror in the bathroom has its own light and defrosting function: I found it useful! A modern table lamp is provided on the desk for work. That lamp has a wireless charging pad. Other wired charging power outlets are placed around the room, including USB-C and USB-A outlets.

We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were excellent - well-maintained, clean and comfortable. What really stood out was the staff, who spoke good English and were consistently attentive throughout our visit. They were always helpful and quick to respond to any requests. The location is also very convenient, situated close to a metro station which made exploring Shanghai much easier. The hotel restaurant was decent but not exceptional - we found better options at local restaurants nearby. Overall, it’s a solid choice for staying in Shanghai. The combination of comfortable rooms, helpful staff, and great location makes it a reliable base for exploring the city. We’d happily stay here again on our next visit.

I spent 5 days and 4 nights at this hotel and had a generally good experience. The room was spacious and equipped with basic amenities, though it’s worth noting that toothbrushes and toothpaste need to be requested upon check-in. Similarly, while daily cleaning services are provided, drinking water is replenished automatically, but other items require a specific request. One feature I truly appreciated was the self-service laundry room, which added great convenience during my stay. Location might not be centrally located and a distance away from the train station. Traveller pls take note and plan your trip accordingly.

I really want to give this Business Hotel a thumbs up! As someone who stays in hotels frequently, I'm absolutely delighted. First of all, the location is perfect for me. It's close to the subway station and a small shopping district nearby, making it super convenient for late-night snacks and groceries. There's also a fruit vendor nearby, so you don't have to walk far. Takeout is delivered by robot—perfect for lazy people! The room has a desk, and the Wi-Fi is fast and seamless, which is far superior to many similarly priced hotels. The bedding is also fantastic—just the right firmness and softness, with two pillows to choose from. After a tiring day out, I slept soundly and woke up feeling refreshed the next day. The bathroom has a nice, dry/wet area, and the hot water comes quickly and at a consistent temperature, so you don't have to wait for ages to shower. The service is also very attentive. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were quick, and the staff were very kind and patient. They proactively asked about my room preferences and even asked if I needed help with my luggage. They even had a special bonus offer at the front desk, hahaha! The cleaning lady who cleaned the room during my stay was also incredibly nice! I forgot my charger in the room and I didn't even notice it until the hotel called me and said they could send it to me. It was so worry-free. Overall, this hotel is really good and very cost-effective. It's a pity that I didn't take any photos, so I'll attach some photos of the scenery. I will definitely stay here again when I come here next time!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ramada by Wyndham in Shanghai Wujiaochang. The room's comfort was immediately noticeable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day exploring the city. What stood out even more was the warmth and kindness of fellow guests, who were quick to assist with my luggage. The hotel staff were proficient in English, and their prompt responses to any inquiries I had were truly commendable. All in all, my stay was made memorable by this foreigner-friendly hotel in China. I can't recommend this hotel enough for international travelers.
Absolutely fantastic! 👍 This is truly a hidden gem hotel I discovered in Shanghai! The location is incredibly convenient, right next to the subway station, and the entire building is very luxurious. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even upgraded my room for free. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was extremely comfortable. The night view was beautiful, and it was very quiet at night. I didn't want to leave after just one night, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed.
Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free.
The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all.
Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!
GGuest UserThis Bund hotel stay was absolutely amazing! It's just a 5-minute walk to the riverside, and my room had floor-to-ceiling windows with a perfect view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' – I could watch the Oriental Pearl Tower light up at night right from my bed. The smart toilet and automatic curtains were super convenient, and soaking in the bathtub while enjoying the river view was just heavenly! The freshly baked croissants at breakfast were so good they were practically addictive. The rooftop bar had incredible night views, and the cocktails created a fantastic ambiance. The front desk even proactively upgraded my room and sent welcome fruits, and the robot delivering food was adorable. The soundproofing was excellent; I slept like a baby until I woke up naturally. Plus, free laundry and drying service was such a thoughtful touch! The location is unbeatable – Yu Garden and Nanjing Road are within walking distance, and the subway station is right outside. For around 400+ RMB per person, it felt like a thousand-yuan experience. As a detail-oriented person, I was completely won over. I'm definitely booking this place again on my next trip to Shanghai!
MMenglitanle. The facilities are great, and the room is spacious. Every time I come to Shanghai, I stay at this hotel. The front desk service is excellent, and the cleaning staff do a thorough and meticulous job. I highly recommend this place; they even have free popcorn at the front desk and complimentary whiskey. My girlfriend and I always stay here. The movies are also great, and there's a free membership that allows screen casting. Rooms with windows offer a view of the plane trees.
IimnotminFrom the moment you step into the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, the elegant charm of Old Shanghai beautifully intertwines with the Bund's vibrant bustle. From your room, you can take in the Lujiazui skyline, with the Huangpu River's day and night flow just outside your window. The personalized concierge service from Aaron Echole was incredibly meticulous, and the entire staff, from concierge to the front desk, exuded the calm sophistication of a long-standing luxury hotel. Enjoying a 'Shanghai Club' cocktail at the Long Bar in the evening felt like stepping back in time to the social scene of a century ago. An absolutely impeccable stay.
GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!
AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus!
However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices.
Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort.
On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.
EElianaCThis review is long overdue! I was in Shanghai for a business trip in early March, and it happened to be raining heavily then. The underfloor heating gave me the warmest, most comfortable night's sleep, and the duvet cover felt incredibly soft. It was my first time staying in a Shikumen building, and the courtyard was so unique and stylish. Both the courtyard and the room's interior design were absolutely beautiful. The unit I stayed in was located on West Yan'an Road, very close to Xintiandi and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was perfect – I could just stroll back after dinner in Bei Li. Check-in was also a breeze. I saw that the host manages several other unique B&Bs, so I'd love to try them out sometime!
JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined.
First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience.
Now, for the less satisfying aspects:
1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one.
2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them.
3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.
GGuest UserThe room was spotless, smelled fresh, and came with all the amenities you could need. The bedding was super soft, making for a really comfortable sleep. It had great natural light and good ventilation. The owner was incredibly warm and attentive. Fantastic value for money – a perfect stay, highly recommend!
GGuest UserThe facilities are complete, clean, and tidy. You can check in with just your bags. It's very close to the city center, practically within walking distance, making it very convenient for getting around. The price is also excellent, offering great value for money overall.
