Disappointed with the cleaning service. Stayed for 4 nights and requested only 2 room services. The first one was fine, but after the second, we returned to find that the bed sheets had not been changed (even though it was already the 3rd day), the towels left on the floor were not replaced, and the floor was not cleaned. Either communication with the guest was poor, or something simply went wrong...

The hotel's location is indeed quite good. There's a 7-Eleven about 100 meters walk away, which is convenient for buying water, snacks, and daily necessities. This is the only thing I was somewhat satisfied with. As for hygiene, it's pretty standard for a Thai hotel – overall very mediocre. I found unidentified hairs and black lint on the bed, but I had brought my own disposable sheets, so I didn't dwell on it too much. I booked a king-sized bed room for 3 nights in advance: a deluxe king for the first two nights and a luxury king for the third. However, for all three nights, the hotel assigned me rooms with two single beds pushed together to form a 'fake' king bed. The mattresses kept sliding, so even a slight turn would shift them, and I couldn't get a good night's sleep for three nights. Even more ridiculous was that in the so-called 'luxury king room' on the third day, the toilet had a noticeably smaller seat, similar to one used for child training. It was incredibly awkward to sit on, caused pain in my backside, and was completely unsuitable for adult use. The most basic bathroom facilities weren't even up to par, making for an extremely poor experience. What made it feel even less sincere was the double standard for amenities: For the first two nights, when we asked the front desk for toothbrushes and toothpaste, we were directly told that the hotel doesn't provide these basic items. Since we had just arrived in Thailand and weren't familiar with the local situation, we chose to believe them. However, when we 'upgraded' to the room on the third night, a full set of toiletries was provided. Clearly, the hotel does have them, so I don't understand their reasoning. I'm a very light sleeper, so when I booked, I specifically requested a quiet room away from the elevator. When checking in, I also used a translation app to communicate this again to the front desk, and they readily agreed. Yet, for all three nights, without exception, the rooms assigned were directly opposite the elevator, and the constant noise of the elevator opening and closing severely disrupted my rest. When I went to the front desk to discuss this, the only reason they ever gave was ”this is the last room available.” It was clear that the needs promised to my face were completely disregarded. As the first hotel we stayed at upon arriving in Thailand, I initially fully trusted the hotel's explanations and tried my best to cooperate and be understanding. However, after staying at other hotels in various parts of Thailand later on, I slowly realized that many hotels treat Chinese tourists with similar excuses and methods: the same perfunctory service, the same buck-passing, the same differential treatment. This accumulated feeling over time is truly awful. We are just ordinary tourists traveling, and when we pay for a hotel, we only hope to receive basic respect and for basic promises to be kept. We don't ask for special treatment, but we also shouldn't be casually brushed off or deliberately inconvenienced. This hotel was disappointing in terms of room type, bathroom facilities, service, and integrity, and it left a very bad impression at the start of our entire trip to Thailand.

Hygiene: Good, the room was clean. Environment: Convenient for dining, with a variety of street food stalls and Chinese restaurants at reasonable prices. Service: The front desk staff were very helpful. Facilities: The shower water temperature was difficult to adjust, making it hard to maintain a comfortable temperature.

We enjoyed our stay thanks to the hotel’s excellent location, which still felt pleasantly quiet. Around the small pool, traffic noise was noticeable, but overall the atmosphere remained relaxing. The reception staff were helpful and welcoming, and our room was clean and well maintained. One drawback was the lack of power outlets near the bed, which would have been convenient. We were satisfied with our choice 'pas cher'

I stayed there for 2 nights and it was comfortable and clean. What I liked most was the walking distance to the Saint Louis BTS station and the many restaurants nearby. I had dinner at Pref restaurant which is opposite the hotel. Highly recommended too for the atmosphere as well as the food. For those who are driving, please note that parking lots are limited. Better to reserve and check with the hotel if you intend to park overnight. Other than that, it's definitely value for money.

Almost every time I visit Bangkok, I stay here. The hotel's location is super convenient, right outside Surasak BTS station. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, which is great for grabbing supplies, and a few local food stalls nearby offering delicious and affordable food. Plus, it's only one BTS stop to Saphan Taksin, where you can catch a boat at Sathorn Pier to watch the sunset, visit ICONSIAM, Chinatown, Wat Arun, and the Grand Palace – all very accessible!

Overall, it's pretty good. This place isn't too far from ICONSIAM. I tried walking to the pier and then taking a boat across to ICONSIAM; of course, you could also choose other transportation options. The room itself is decent, though I wish the lighting was a bit brighter. Be careful not to turn on the faucet in the sink too much, or water will splash onto your clothes – that could definitely be improved. The swimming pool is on the 7th floor and is open until 11 PM, so you don't have to worry about missing out on a swim if you get back late from exploring. The front desk was very helpful with check-in; even if you don't speak English or Thai, it's fine because they'll translate and show you directly in Chinese, so no worries there. Breakfast is on the 6th floor and is also quite good.

A clean bed, if you come with friends and family it's fine the rooms are big enough, location is close to the subway few shops near by but still do need to walk around fortunately it's silent until you turn on the air-conditioning it's a bit noisy and the shower water pressure a bit slow. Was told to place a deposit of 500 for the key card and any inconveniences, over all is fine for a few days to unwind.

Excellent stay! We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The reception and all staff members were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful at all times. The hotel was spotlessly clean and extremely hygienic, which made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. On top of that, the location is absolutely perfect — convenient and ideal for exploring the area. Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay here again!

CCK97My wife and I recently celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary with a 3-night stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel and it was an unforgettable experience. Although not so modern, our room was luxurious and well maintained, providing all the comforts and amenities we needed. We especially looked forward to breakfast each morning, eager to enjoy the chef’s special of the day, which never disappointed and added a delightful start to our day. During our stay, we appreciated the convenient location near all the shopping malls and attractions. Overall, our experience at the Grand Hyatt Erawan was wonderful except for an evening where the shower area and all the taps only has hot water regardless turning on the cold or hot water tap. The technician team was quick in resolving the issue about 15-20 mins later. It made our 21st wedding anniversary extra special, and we will still come back for more anniversary celebrations. Highly recommended for couples or anyone seeking a luxurious getaway.

CCurt 常鹰We saved this hotel until last – slightly fancier than the other 3 in our time in Thailand – as a little final night trip, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing of the lot. The price, by global standards, might not be eye-watering. But by Thailand prices, it was certainly higher end, at over 800rmb per night with a ~450 (2000bht) deposit upon arrival. It did not meet those standards, I'm afraid to say. First things first, it should be said that it is fairly easy to get to on the MTR system, just a very short walk from Hwai Khwang, though it should be pointed out that when using Trip to find the location of Google Maps, I was given the wrong spot (further down the road, so actually a nice surprise to see it was closer, and I wont hold this against the hotel as it is likely nothing to do with them.) Serve at check-in was good, bags carried up the stairs for us and taken to the room with the porter stood waiting as we arrived. Check-in staff were as friendly as one would expect at a Marriott-run hotel of this quality, & though I was slightly surprised by the price of the deposit it was ultimately fine. We had booked a deluxe room with a double bed, and were told that since there was none available (?), we'd be upgraded to a Premier. Looking at the app since, I'm struggling to see where they differ. The decor in the Premier is perhaps a bit more modern, but they are the same size with the same bathroom (more on that later), and the lower price-point is on a much higher floor (ergo better view, I'd assume). In truth, had I paid for a Premier & been greeted with our room, I'd have been even more disappointed. The room was fine, but I'm not sure much more than that. A decent size, though by no means surprisingly big. It was at least quite airy, and the bed pretty comfortable, though seriously lacking in plug sockets. I find it rare to see a hotel these days without plug sockets on both sides of the bed, especially a hotel at this price point. It meant that only one phone could be charged nearby, the other on the table on the other side of the room. The bathroom, though, was really, really disappointing (& that's putting it lightly). The bathtub might have been a nice touch, had it not quite clearly had dried on blood stains in it. I've never experienced this in any hotel I've ever stayed at, no matter how cheap. Let alone at one double the price of anywhere else we stayed in Bangkok and Thailand! The sink, too, was clearly scratched up dirty, with two clear globs of dried on mucus. No face washing in there for us. Fortunate perhaps, given the number of towels provided too was pretty light. The bin in the bathroom also came with no bin bag. I'd hope that the inside is therefore cleaned regularly, but given what we'd seen before, I wasn't filled with hope. Elswhere, breakfast was generally of expected quality. Nothing to write home about per se, but a very nice dining area and good service in fairness. The coffee was decent, though again by no means hugely memorable. The swimming pool is a highlight, offering great views across the city (indeed, the view from our room was quite nice too – though can't help thinking it would be better from a higher floor, like in the cheaper rooms!), with ample comfy beds and free towels. It might be a bit small in peak season, but there were only 3 other groups sharing with us, so plenty of space for a swim. We also enjoyed the massage (850bht). The price was not included in the room fee, but I thought 850 seemed a decent price for the quality and the convenience. Each of these things could be the most memorable part of the trip, were we not greeted by the dirtiest bathroom I've ever experienced in a hotel. & that's a real pity, because it was so avoidable too! Especially from a Marriott hotel, I'd really expect better.

GGuest UserPros: The hygiene is excellent. The common areas are right by the Chao Phraya River, and it's fantastic to enjoy a drink while watching the river at night. The staff are very enthusiastic. The bed space is ample, with two power outlets and a small locker with a combination lock. There's also a large storage cabinet in the room that opens with your room card. Cons: The only way to get into the hostel is through a fish market, which has a very strong, fishy smell, though it's bearable. Being close to the river means there are quite a few insects, which is understandable. The toilets don't have air conditioning, so it gets extremely hot when using them. The air conditioning in the rooms is turned off daily from 11 AM to 3 PM, which isn't very friendly for guests who want to rest in bed. Everyone's shoes are piled up on the second floor, and some of them are incredibly smelly, like biohazards. I hope the hotel can improve management and ensure everyone puts their shoes in a shoe cabinet!

BBeishandaxianThis is an older hotel, but it has a great location. The hotel offers a boat shuttle to the pier and metro, making it very convenient to get to Iconsiam with just one transfer. This is my second stay here, and the hotel has been gradually upgrading its facilities over the past couple of years, with noticeable improvements to the room conditions. The breakfast is excellent, and you can enjoy it either outdoors by the river or indoors. There are quite a few European guests. The room I was assigned this time had a nice view looking straight ahead, with a direct view of the river and the Ferris wheel. However, if you looked down, there was a European-style cemetery. I personally don't mind it as it's not part of my cultural beliefs, but if you're bothered by it, I suggest mentioning it to the front desk when you check in.

GGarreth HuntBangkok was the last stop on our trip to Thailand and we booked this hotel as a treat to end our trip given it's 5 star status. We were left very disappointed... The lobby is lovely and is indicative of a high end hotel but that's where it ended unfortunately. The rooms are 3 star at best. We had booked a room with a balcony specifically but the initial room we were given didn't have one. The staff were very helpful and moved us to another room with a balcony, however the balcony was surrounded by fans so we had limited views. We were offered another room on our second day with a better balcony but the room itself was smaller so we opted to stay where we were. From what we could see, none of the balconies are great so I would avoid paying the extra for rooms with them. The pool is cold and in need of some work, the grout is coming away in many areas creating sharp edges in spots. Also not 5 star quality. Breakfast was the nicest setup and offering we had seen in Thailand.

EExpat EDventuresWe had a very pleasant stay at Somerset Sukhumvit 71 Bangkok. Check-in was easy and smooth with welcome infused water, and the on-site café was excellent, with delicious breakfast pastries. The beds were firm and clean, the room was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning and making our beds daily. We also appreciated that both of our rooms were booked next to each other, which made travelling as a family much easier. Our fourteen-year-old’s bed was already made up upon arrival, which was a thoughtful touch. John, the concierge, was outstanding. He managed to book a same-day bike tour for our family of six and also kindly arranged our airport transfer. His service truly stood out and made our stay even better. Our only disappointment was New Year’s Eve. We had planned to ring in the new year at the rooftop venue, but it was fully booked. I had messaged the hotel in advance through the Trip app but didn’t receive a response. Instead, we followed a restaurant recommendation from the front desk, only to arrive 56 minutes before closing and be told the kitchen was already closed. Two other nearby restaurants were also closed, so we ended up grabbing snacks from the 7-Eleven across the street. The hotel kindly unlocked our balcony so we could at least watch the fireworks from our room. The rooftop restaurant is beautiful, and the pool area is also very nice, although the water was quite cold, so we didn’t swim. The location is a bit far out, but overall, we enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it and booked a third night. A great hotel with excellent service, especially from the concierge, and we would happily stay again.

ZZaichuangxintianyaThe location is pretty good, with EM Mall right next door, making dining, shopping, and entertainment incredibly convenient. However, it's a bit of a trek to Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy. While Bangkok has bike-sharing services like Hello Ride, they're not very practical due to the lack of dedicated bike lanes and the requirement to return bikes to fixed locations. The breakfast spread is excellent, and the staff are all very professional and enthusiastic. Although the price was a bit higher during Chinese New Year, it's still a highly recommended hotel offering great value for money in Bangkok's Sukhumvit area.

AAnonymous UserA good location for travellers looking for a quieter neighbourhood compared to the usual sukhumvit experience, but I wouldn’t stay here again. 1. Gets really inaccesible to convenience stores (they do sell limited options of snacks - at a surcharge of course) 2. Engaged their laundry services, almost couldn’t get it back and wanted to bill me an additional fee to get it back in time for me to checkout and catch my flight. Turns out one of my pants was damaged along the way but made no comments about it till I found out. Didn’t pursue this matter as I have to catch a flight, no time to look for resolutions. 3. Was back at the hotel one of the days slightly earlier at 4:30pm, to my dismay the room wasn’t cleaned, the crew only came by at 5:30pm and offered to clean the room but it wasn’t convenient for me (I was half asleep too). Subsequently took a mental note that I can’t be back at the hotel till at least 7pm if I need my room to be cleaned Your experience may vary, but certainly not one of the experience I was thinking I would received.
