We received warm welcome. Overall excellent service from hotel staff to the restaurants. We had a happy and enjoyable stay at the Hang Zhou Banyan Tree. Highly recommend this place.
After staying at the Hang Zhou Banyan Tree for 3 nights, we went on to stay at the Shanghai on the bund Bayan Tree. We experienced a stark contrast in service from the front desk staff from the bund Banyan Tree. We wondered why they kept stopping us from getting into the room that we have booked for. In the end, we went through changing 3 rooms before they finally gave us the correct facing room. So, beware of the Shanghai on the Bund Banyan Tree and do not believe in the free upgrade or upsize room. We rejected the first corner room only to be given another corner room at the other end that were both warm and uncomfortable. The staff kept assuring us that they were bigger rooms and better view than the Panorama Riverside Retreat-King room that we have booked for but we want the room that we have booked. Why can't they give us the right room in the first place and have to made us go through changing from one room to another. A clear dishonest play here.
We missed the Hang Zhou Banyan Tree front desk staff.

Our party of 3 adults spent 3 nights at the Fuchun Mountain Golf Resort in early 12/2024. We came to Fuchun to see the scenaries that had inspired the famous 富春山居圖 painting. We booked 2 basic rooms (Linyin Garden View), but received free upgrades (Guizhou Lake View) at check in. I must admit our initial feelings as we arrived was one of creeping doubt, because the Fuyang city streets we had driven through (we drove in from the Hangzhou Xihu area) were very industrial, just giant factories one after another and the immediate area outside the property was just a bunch of small suburban farm homes and shops. Furthermore, as our car pulled up to the front lobby entrance, no one greeted us. Not a soul was in sight. Our driver had to poke his head inside and announce guests are here and service is needed. From there on, however, things only got better and better. So, yes, this was a quiet property. There wasn’t a lot of staff standing about. But, there was enough personnel to provide all the basic services expected. And I found they were very friendly, quick to respond, and efficient. During our 3.5 days here, we explored and enjoyed this beautiful hotel inside and out. The hotel itself (the main building) was simply grand. Its design and decor was a perfect balance of East Meets West, modernized traditional, understated elegance. The layout was a bit of a labyrinth. There were wings, corridors, and stairs you can go down to find restaurants, spa/gym/pool, conference rooms, sitting nooks, a small boat dock, and even an impressive collection of embroidery art on display. Our rooms were large and airy, spotless, the ceiling was high, and the windows opened onto the lake. The bathroom was spacious with a double sink and lots of counter space. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, definitely in line with 5 star international standards. Outside, there was a man-made lake with 2 groups of swans (or were they white geese?). They crisscrossed the lake during the day and slept below our windows at night. There was also a little children’s playground (with a pair of ducks) and what looked like a small amphitheater. Several short paths allowed us to walk the sizable grounds. Early one morning, we followed one across a little brook to the edge of the tea terrace. Another morning, we strolled down a road flanked by bamboo that led to the beautiful villas that stood apart from the main hotel. Everywhere, the atmosphere was tranquil and the views spectacular. We ate most of our meals at the hotel since we were unfamiliar with the area and didn’t really want to go out looking (this was the end of a 2 week trip). We tried both of the restaurants on-site (the Chinese and the Western/Fusion) and thought they were fine overall, since food/ingredients were fresh and of good quality. Taste and craft were okay, not great but acceptable. In truth, we were probably not too demanding at this point, as we had already gorged out during our previous stay in the HZ/Xihu area. In summary, our family really liked the Fuchun Mountain Golf Resort. We were very comfortable during our short stay. We really appreciated the quiet calmness of the place as well as the warm service provided by the entire staff. We would love to return. It was an easy car ride from the HZ city area, and it was easy to hire cars to nearby and more distant attractions. Lastly, for those interested in the 富春山居圖, there is a replica of the painting (both parts and to scale) displayed downstairs in the spa :)

Lovely hotel in the middle of West Creek/ Xixi National Wetlands Park in Hangzhou. The hotel and service offerings are excellent, located in a very secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle, great for relaxation and enjoying the serene and tranquil surroundings. There is a small lake in the middle of the hotel, which I understand is owned and managed by the hotel. The views are wonderful and better than going to the famed West Lake (way too touristy and crowded). I think this hotel has a lot going for it, even though it’s not a known brand.
I would say some things for improvement are as follows:
Must, must open a spa. AmanFayun, Banyan Tree, Anh Luh and Four Seasons all have spa’s and they’re at roughly the same price point. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but for some people this would put them off from booking here.
Gym. This place needs an on-site gym for obsessed exercise freaks like me (and other health obsessives that want to go to an all-inclusive resort). Also, with the yummy high calorie food offerings in the restaurant, I would like to work those calories off and not worry about getting home fatter than when I left!
Restaurant – Excellent service from the wonderful manager, who I forgot to ask her name and all her staff. Very good manners from all the staff, very quiet voices, barely can hear them speak amongst themselves. However there needs to be more of an international offering for people that visit from outside China (US/ Europe, India/ South East Asia/ Gulf countries, who all would probably stay here in the future). There should be another restaurant that offers international fayre, as well as the traditional Chinese restaurant, so both sets of visitors are catered for, and more choice is always good for people that stay longer than 3 days. And vegetarian/ vegan options would be very appreciated.
The “Savoir resort” is not mentioned on Didi maps or on Baidu maps, and the Chinese name bears absolutely no resemblance to the English name 杭州所见 – 西溪度假酒店. Foreign people may have problems finding this location on their maps/ getting here without help (the less help that is required, the better).
The two top-end rooms (6999 yuan a night and 15,000 yuan a night) cannot be booked on
携程 (Ctrip) or Trip.com. I think there should be 5 – 10 pictures on the site showing these rooms as bookable. I take a long time researching a hotel before booking, so the more information available, the better.
The boat trip in the hotel is way better than the boat trip offered outside the hotel. I really enjoyed it, but I don’t think many people use it, which is a shame of a great resource. The fact this hotel has its own private lake is something that makes it stand out from the other hotels.
PS , I cannot upload my videos of the boat trip inside the hotel's lake because the file is too big :'(

A very distinctive hotel. The environment is quiet, the rooms are large, and the decoration is Chinese style, which is very grand. I booked 2 rooms of the same price, but the room layouts are completely different. I asked the housekeeper, and the housekeeper said that each room type of Zixuan is different. The housekeeper service is very thoughtful, especially when checking in, the room introduction is very detailed. Dinner was eaten at the hotel's Jiexianglou (one Michelin star, two black pearl diamonds), which was fine except that it was expensive. The hotel's breakfast is very rich, with Chinese, Japanese, Western and other set meals to choose from, which are thoughtful and rich. We are a family traveler, and Zixuan's environment, food and thoughtful service make the elders and children very satisfied, so it must be highly praised!

The Amanfayun (Hangzhou Fayun Anman) lies hidden in a valley to the west of West Lake. The 20-minute drive from the center of Hangzhou takes one along densely wooded bamboo and tree-lined avenues, past the botanical gardens and inner waterways of West Lake, to the temples and village of Tianzhu. The resort and its surrounding tea fields lie just beyond Tianzhu, below North Peak and adjacent to Lingyin and Yongfu Temples, occupying an area of 14 hectares. Access to Amanfayun's Reception House is via a narrow roadway that is bordered by thick forest and groves of bamboo.Housed in a complex of buildings, some of which have a 100 year history, all rooms are unique and feature underfloor heating, air conditioning and Internet plus domestic and international direct-dial phones, umbrellas, hairdryers, safes, coffee/tea makers, mini bars and refrigerators. Ipod/iPhone docks and televisions are available on request. Furniture is inpired by classic China and given an updated twist. Most accommodation units are open to private or semi-private courtyards with informal outdoor dining and lounging areas. The Restaurant is tucked away behind a grove of evergreens and offers picturesque views. This is the only outlet which serves Western cuisine. The menu features a number of classic international dishes, in essence offering guests finely-crafted comfort food. The Restaurant also houses the Bar which is suitable for informal dining throughout the day as well as pre- or post-dinner drinks. The Amanfayun's Aman Spa consists of five separate buildings surrounded by bamboo groves, tea bushes and Magnolia trees. The Spa offers eight treatment rooms, a reflexology room, a fitness centre, a room dedicated to tai chi, yoga and meditation, and a Finishing Salon. Massage and body treatments draw from traditional Chinese massage and reflexology, as well as from ancient Asian healing therapies. The Finishing Salon provides hair spa treatments, manicures, pedic

Aman in Hangzhou is the perfect staycation destination. The environment is calming and beautiful, relaxing and natural. The staff and service at Amanfayun is probably the best second only to the hotel grounds itself. The room was beautiful and had probably the best sleep I’ve had in a long time as the room becomes completely pitch black and the bed is super comfortable. The spa was unreal, with an ensuite for every service (1 or 2 people). The spa is located next to the pool which had to be my favorite thing about staying there - the afternoon tea by the pool was amazing, delicious, and so cute. It wasn’t hard to feel comfortable or communicate because the majority of staff speaks English. The hotel has 6 places to eat, but I will say as someone who doesn’t eat meat it was a little hard to find options at the hotel but super easy to order food in! If you do eat meat, no problem, there are many options. Definitely recommend Amanfayun to anyone but especially anyone looking for a weekend away with family, a friend, or a loved one. Thanks Aman!

Generally speaking, there are not many shortcomings in the hardware. The room is a bit small, the view of West Lake is great, and the mattress is really comfortable. But the service of the whole hotel made me feel terrible. I have never experienced such outrageous service in a hotel at this price. It is really not appropriate.
1: The entire hotel is not renovated at all. Traces of renovation can be seen everywhere, and there are always construction workers in the guest elevator. I could actually hear the sound of renovation at 8/9 in the morning. It was unimaginable to be woken up by the sound of wall smashing in the hotel... After I talked to the staff, they told me that they needed a small costume so I could wait? ?
The entire hotel except the lobby and 5L is full of decoration garbage. There are messy tables and chairs on the floor of the RF, and kitchen utensils waiting to be put away next to them. The gym downstairs was filled with ceramics wrapped in plastic bags, and the garden outside the hotel was completely dirty.
2: Basically, all the service staff made me feel that they were untrained, had no sense of boundaries and provided excessive service. During dinner, the waiter saw the content on the phone and started chatting with us about our pets without our permission. After asking me about my dining experience, I didn't get any feedback at all (the hamburger I ordered had the whole bun soaked in water and it was so unpalatable that it was not as good as the one made by Xiao Li's grandmother. The waiter said that the chef who had worked at Mi San was Mi San's restaurant/Mi San's chef). He also deliberately mixed Chinese and English when ordering and introducing the dishes. The same thing happened during breakfast. Even after we clearly expressed that we didn't want to eat anymore, she still insisted that we try the bread she recommended. At the same time, she spent almost half an hour helping us to remake the room card... During check-out/the incense experience, she kept chatting with us (should it be the lobby manager?), which was even worse than Haidilao. She even asked me if she could give me a good review on Ctrip before leaving. After I answered negatively, she asked me if she could not write a bad review instead of asking what bad experiences she had during the trip. This was beyond my expectation.
3: There are problems with the basic facilities in the room/the private butler's response was not timely. I can understand that the purpose of setting up a private butler is to enhance the user experience, but it seems that it is obviously not as convenient as communicating by phone. The reply speed is very slow. It takes 20 minutes to reply to basic cleaning or inquiries (not during non-working hours). The layout of the room is simply not as good as Marriott, and the price list of the most basic minibar is not even given. Then the room that was asked to be decorated was not decorated at all.
There are indeed advantages, the scenery is great, the colors are novel, the room facilities are new, and there are experience activities that can be freely chosen.
In general, this hotel is far from worth the current room rate (4k+). If it is around 2k, I would still be willing to come and experience it. The overall service team and hotel facilities are not up to the standard to be able to operate. I haven't stayed in Shangri-La for a long time, and I probably won't come again.

Our stay at 西湖國賓館 was an extraordinary experience. Located beside the serene West Lake, the resort offers stunning views, including a direct sightline to the iconic 雷峰塔. The private, impeccably maintained grounds, brimming with vibrant greenery and colorful flowers, create a picturesque and inviting atmosphere.
What makes this resort truly unforgettable is the exceptional service. Ms. 阮, who graciously served us during our delightful complimentary afternoon tea, and Daniel, who kindly drove us on the hotel cart, added personal touches to our visit, even with their brief interactions. The housekeeping team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort—keeping our rooms impeccably clean, delivering fresh fruit daily, and warmly greeting us at every opportunity, as though we were part of their family.
One particularly heartwarming moment occurred on our final day. When I expressed a simple desire to smell the magnolia flowers blooming in the lobby, the hotel manager kindly asked the gardener, who was tending to the lobby planters, to cut a small branch for me. To my surprise, the gardener also gifted me a lotus flower bud with a warm smile. The bud blossomed beautifully at our next destination, serving as a lasting reminder of the kindness and thoughtfulness we experienced here.
As first-time visitors to China, we are deeply impressed not only by the country’s rich history and stunning landscapes but also by the genuine warmth of its people. 西湖國賓館 exemplifies hospitality at its finest, blending meticulous care with heartfelt service, making our stay an experience we will cherish forever.

Let me talk about the disadvantages first. The only thing: Park the car at B3, exit from parking lot 205. It is difficult to find the hotel entrance in this row of parking lots. There is no sign and no one to guide. And from B3 to the 1st floor, take an elevator, then change another elevator to the 10th floor, check in and change another elevator to the room. I have a lot of things in my hands, which is a bit troublesome. The rest are advantages: This hotel actually has a pregnancy pillow. We brought our own, but I didn't expect the hotel to have one. My wife, a pregnant woman, was very touched. They really consider the needs of customers. When checking out, they actually gave me a Four Seasons bib. This is really a surprise. It's amazing. Last year's anniversary came, and they also prepared a cake and hand-painted a picture on the glass with a marker. It's really top-notch 👍 The room feels the same as always. It's arranged on the top floor. It's not noisy. It's very friendly to pregnant women. The deposit is refunded in seconds. The deposit ratio is also reasonable, which is higher than most hotels in Shanghai. The check-in is polite, and it doesn't make people feel unfamiliar or cold. They won't neglect the service attitude because we have stayed once. The reception downstairs is also very good. Open and close the door, the license plate will be charged for the car fee, and it is locked. I hope Four Seasons will make a fortune.

Excellent
GGuest User3 really good things about the hotel - location, ambience, and service.
Location - not exactly central to city center, but it's closeby, and accessible to most of the tourist spots. Getting a Didi to & fro the hotel is no issue at all, and rides are usually approx. 15mins traveling duration, depending on traffic & destination.
Ambience - located higher up in the hill separates the hotel from the hustle and bustle of the city and the roads. It's secluded and well insulated, separating us from the traffic, and and the streets.
Service - the front of house is immaculate. All very well-mannered and professional. They're very flexible as well as they waived the deposit from us due to an international payment issue, prioritizing the check in experience over the procedures.
Overall if given a chance, we would definitely return for another stay!

HHuifeidebeijixiongFrom April 26th to 27th, I took advantage of the May Day holiday to travel off-peak. I drove from Shanghai for 3 and a half hours, took a boat from Gantan Ferry to enjoy the scenery of Xujiang River and arrived at the hotel. On the first day of my stay, I experienced the paper umbrella handmade activities, afternoon tea, and fishing in the hotel, and experienced the hot spring in the evening. I got up early the next day. The air was especially fresh in the morning after the rain. I couldn't help but take a few deep breaths. I ran 11km on the greenway along the Fuchun River. The scenery was so beautiful. After breakfast, I went hiking on the greenway again and enjoyed the scenery of Sanjiangkou in the cafe. Accommodation: The hotel provides room upgrade services. The Tingyu Suite Villa has its own courtyard and is very comfortable. The minibar provides free drinks, which is more than enough for two people. The hotel as a whole was very quiet and there were few people. The restaurant tastes very good, but the price is indeed expensive, the portion size is average, there are not many breakfast varieties, but the taste is online. I recommend the tofu buns and ** noodles. The infinity pool at the door is under construction and it is said to be completed in June. It is worth looking forward to. Lishi Jiaojiao provides considerate service. She responds promptly to any questions and gives me souvenirs before I leave. I will come to check in again next time.

TTemsiri ChaiphanichapanThe hotel is very beautiful and equipped it with all amenities needed. Oliver, the concierge, was very helpful and suggesting us with a lot of useful information with warmth and sincerity.
One shortcoming was the housekeeping service that the third night during our stay, we went back to the room around 8 PM and our two rooms were not cleaned. I wonder about that because I believed that I did not turn on Do Not Disturb button. After a long day of traveling, we've got to wait for the housekeeping to clean the room for another hour to use the rooms.
However, the overall experience was good and we wish to go back again next time.

GGuest UserThe hotel is generally good. It is very convenient to get there just after turning a corner after getting off the highway. The scenery is very good, and the room view is superb! The housekeeper Ethan is very enthusiastic and responsive! The hotel room is very spacious and the balcony is also very large! When the weather is good, sitting on the balcony to enjoy the lake and mountains, listening to the birds and insects, I suddenly feel that life should be wasted in this beautiful place! The hotel's Chinese restaurant is very delicious, the pecan veal and crispy fried chicken are super delicious! There are not many varieties of breakfast, but each tastes very good, and the coffee is also great! The hotel staff will say hello when they see each other, and they are very warm and friendly! Except that it is a bit far from Shanghai and the small details of hygiene need to be improved, everything else is impeccable! Worth recommending!
GGuest UserI went there for my birthday. The housekeeper LEO added me on WeChat early to communicate the details. On my birthday, he not only sent me a delicious cake but also decorated the room. Each employee in the housekeeping department also wrote a handwritten greeting card. After dinner, he sent me egg noodles. It was really a surprise. When we left, he was worried that we would be hungry on the way, so he not only sent us souvenirs but also prepared food. The room, especially the bathroom, was surprisingly large. The housekeeping service was responsive. The most important thing was that I could completely relax. I have never slept so well when traveling or on business trips. I will go there again in the future.

GGuest UserIt took 8 hours to drive from Shanghai to Qiandao Lake during the Qingming Festival. When I arrived at the hotel, the fatigue was relieved by the warm atmosphere in front of me, and even turned into excitement.
The three-day and two-night stay was very good, and the holiday feeling was full.
This is a very attentive hotel, with a low-key design and natural beauty (the photos were taken from the hotel). The hardware and ingredients are of high quality, and the subtle and warm service is a plus. I will choose Keren next time.
