"I initially thought this was just another Instagrammable hotel. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed upon check-in, as the service didn't quite measure up to what I've experienced at Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The room's location was just average, with many obstructions in front. I checked in on my birthday but wasn't offered a free room upgrade. The hotel wasn't crowded during my two-day stay, and the low guest density was quite comfortable. However, room maintenance was mediocre; there was a damp smell when I entered, frankly, it felt quite old. Also, the bathtub water didn't get hot enough for a proper soak. What truly deserves high praise is the unlimited complimentary laundry service, and the 24-hour in-room dining, available once a day, which was incredibly convenient – you just scan a QR code to order. Each person gets 2 drinks and 3 food items daily. The portions were ample, and the taste wasn't as bad as some people claim (for a Cantonese palate, it certainly wasn't unappetizing). The design and maintenance of the public pool were also excellent. I asked the manager, and he said the cliff elevator will be open in June, so future guests are in luck! Currently, they offer transportation to two beaches as an alternative, but I'd advise against it! It was super crowded, and the service was terrible – this was the only part of the trip that felt like a letdown. We wasted over an hour on two separate occasions and waited for half an hour standing at that Sunday Beach. In short, staying at the hotel is definitely better than venturing out. And don't worry about food; if you don't feel like eating at the restaurant, you can order takeout. Just inform your butler, and they'll deliver it from the hotel lobby to your door. The most important thing: tip generously (100k every time) and write down your wishes (even with limited English), and they'll usually be fulfilled. For example, asking for bags, toiletries, small gifts, etc. I also received a birthday amenity, a cake, and an aromatherapy diffuser. All in all, I was genuinely surprised and am already looking forward to my next stay!"

Hotel near Ubud,Bali
No. 10 of Luxury Hotels in Indonesia
Inspired by a traditional village Amandari is framed by jungle and rice terraces in Balis cultural heartland. Alang-alang-thatched houses some with pools - all with private tropical gardens - cosset guests under bamboo ceilings their suites elegantly decorated with teak and coconut-wood. The grounds are both sacred and essential to local families; children attend dance classes here and religious processions pass through regularly leading down the steps that spill below Amandari to a 7th-century stone tiger - a motif repeated throughout the property. Follow the road out of the village to hike or bike the emerald-green landscape or head further afield for artisan villages - hidden temples and the palaces and boutiques of Ubud. Overlooking a tranquil lily pond the Spas offerings range from massages and manicures to traditional Balinese treatments. Both Indonesian and Western dishes are specialities at the open-air Restaurant or dine intimately in the rainforest with a private chef. Set amid aromatic frangipani trees and the enveloping warmth of a Balinese village Amandari is perfectly suited to special occasions of all kinds.

"Stepping into a place that has gracefully carried its spirit for nearly 38 years into today was truly an unforgettable experience. Amandari is not just a resort; it is a timeless masterpiece, perfectly harmonized with nature and set in a setting that feels nothing short of miraculous. The villas are breathtaking—every detail thoughtfully designed, offering a sense of privacy, serenity, and understated luxury. From sunrise to sunset, each moment feels like a carefully painted scene, where nature and architecture exist in perfect balance. What truly elevates this experience, however, is your exceptional team. The genuine warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism of every member create an atmosphere that feels both refined and deeply personal. The culinary experience is equally remarkable—each dish reflecting a perfect blend of local character and world-class sophistication. In every sense, this was not just a stay, but a journey—one that touches the soul and leaves a lasting impression. Our hearts are with you. Thank you for this extraordinary experience."

"Stayed at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve with my family. The hotel lobby is grand and absolutely stunning! Our room was spacious, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. We received delicious welcome fruits and snacks, and there was an ample supply of drinking water. Our Chinese butler, Nessa (Honghong), was incredibly helpful during our two-day stay! She was always responsive to our requests, replied promptly, was understanding, patient, and provided attentive and thoughtful service. It happened to be Mother's Day, and Nessa helped my son fulfill his idea of surprising me. I received beautiful flowers, a cake, and a thoughtful card from the hotel! The Indonesian restaurant's breakfast spread was fresh and abundant, offering both buffet and à la carte options. The staff were proactive, polite, and friendly! Nova was particularly understanding; seeing that I liked mangosteen but wasn't sure how to open it, she kindly prepared it for me and brought it over. It was a truly heartwarming gesture! Overall, our stay at the hotel was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family!"

Hotel near Ubud,Bali
No. 11 of Luxury Hotels in Indonesia
Set in the lush wilderness of Buahan village in northern Ubud, one of Bali's most untapped enclaves, the adults-only Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape offers unique discovery experiences with a "no walls, no doors" concept in communion with nature. Each of the 16 bales (villas) features a 180-degree view of the Balinese jungle and majestic mountain peaks, a private pool and naturally sourced materials.

"Book the best valley-view room type! The basic rooms are at the bottom of the valley with average views, and they tend to be damp with cold pool water. The upgraded rooms are halfway up the mountain, offering excellent views, fewer insects, no dampness, and a constant 40-degree (Celsius) heated pool. Dinner has a lot of vegetarian options. The spa has a great ambiance and excellent service. The hotel staff are wonderful, and you can even spot many small squirrels. It's a perfect secluded getaway, a truly unique experience worldwide. Highly recommended! (Be cautious if you're particularly afraid of insects.)"

"This hotel is close to the black beach, the scenery is very beautiful, and there is a rice field view on the other side of the hotel, which is refreshing. The hotel's service staff is very warm, there is Chinese customer service, we have to participate in the hotel's paid activities, Chinese customer service also gave very effective and pertinent suggestions, recommend activities suitable for this season, it turns out that the waterfall hiking activities are very good, thank you very much. The hotel's restaurant has a service staff named Eri, the service is very thoughtful, let us feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the locals in a foreign country. The hotel's pick-up and drop-off service is very good, and the drop-off service is full of details. But it is a pity that the cashier at the front desk of the hotel SPA is not very friendly to the Chinese. The whole poker face let me sign. The Chinese name I signed asked to sign the English name. This required me to cooperate. I didn’t expect her to speak Indonesian. Bad, just recorded by my translation software, This is intolerable! I read Xiaohongshu before and said that Indonesian hotels have discrimination. I didn't expect to be met by myself... a bit speechless. Reflecting the situation with the hotel and Trip.com , I still pay attention to the solution, but in fact, I am a little sad. I think of the warm and thoughtful service of other staff. I don’t want to deny a hotel because of one person, but I hope that this time is not pleasant. The hotel attracts attention. Don't let Chinese like me encounter such situations, affecting the mood of vacation. In addition, the hotel's beach is not a private beach, there is a stray dog, often looking for food on the beach, if you see this comment, you go to this hotel, remember to give it some food. This little yellow 🐶 is very friendly and a bit sticky. Its appearance also brings a lot of joy and good memories to my holiday. Thank you for your kindness. ~❤️ Trip.com platform, in the process of handling problems, very professional and patient, emotional value is full, like."

"It is hard to imagine a hotel that costs RMB 30,000 per night. I was scared to death by this hotel. I didn't sleep all night with my three-year-old child. I called the hotel front desk for four hours but no one answered. It was so hateful. When I needed help, no one answered the phone. I contacted the hotel front desk of the world's top luxury hotel but no one answered. I wanted to call the police but I thought it was better to have less trouble in Bali. Chinese people are really ripped off abroad. The hotel rooms are old and the same as those of Chinese three-star hotels. I posted it so that more Chinese customers can see it. Avoid danger and pitfalls"

"Random thoughts about Potato Head Bali!!! 1. The hotel can add an extra bed. If three people are staying, just book for three, and the hotel will set up the extra bed for you, which is very nice. You'll also get breakfast for three! Upon check-in, each person receives a stainless steel cup, and when you leave, they give you a bracelet, haha. 2. Definitely remember to bring a filtered shower head!!! The water quality at Potato Head is really bad; you'll basically change the filter every day. Please use bottled water for brushing your teeth, not tap water. You don't want to get sick from dirty water. 3. You MUST watch the sunset at the hotel!!!! There are two spots with daybeds for sunset views: one is their beach bar, and the other is their seafood and Western restaurant. The steak and prawns at this restaurant are delicious! If you like a lively atmosphere, go to the beach bar, but I chose to eat at the Western restaurant and asked the staff to reserve a scenic daybed for me. After a delicious meal, I lay down comfortably to watch the sunset. I recommend calling ahead to reserve a daybed. The service staff are very friendly, and since the Western restaurant already includes a service charge, you don't need to tip extra. 4. The hotel's breakfast is à la carte. Personally, I think the fried rice and egg salad croissant are the best. The others are just okay because I'm not a fan of Western breakfast. Also, their iced Americano is too sour for my taste, haha. 5. I want to compliment the hotel's daily cleaning service. Two young men took care of it; they were very quick and thorough, so I gave them an extra 50,000 Indonesian Rupiah tip! 6. Important! Calling a taxi through the hotel is quite expensive. You can use Grab yourself, but if you do, the car can't enter the main lobby area. You'll have to walk out to the main road to catch one. Alternatively, you can call for a shuttle. It's actually a short walk, but if you have luggage, definitely take the shuttle. However, if you're taking a taxi *to* the hotel, just tell the driver you're a hotel guest, and the car will be allowed in. 7. If you need a late check-out, inform the hotel in advance. Standard check-out is 12:00 PM, and extending by about an hour is usually fine. Remember to communicate with the front desk beforehand!"

Seven years ago, I had the pleasure of staying at the St. Regis Bali, and I was absolutely blown away by their breakfast. Now that my children are older, I brought them back for a return visit, and I'm thrilled to say the breakfast is still as abundant and exquisite as ever. Every dish is beautifully plated. We stayed for seven days, and every single day we discovered something new; the daily special hidden menu was constantly innovative. I honestly worried we'd be spoiled! The hotel butler service is incredibly thoughtful. Even though we didn't plan anything, our butler, Adi, provided excellent sightseeing recommendations tailored to our interests. What truly stood out was the Food and Beverage Director, who personally oversaw everything each day, curating dishes perfectly suited for guests. Every dish he created was a feast for the eyes and the palate, with rich flavors and meticulously chosen ingredients. Both of my children absolutely adored him. The hotel suites are spacious, both the interior and the balcony. They were cleaned twice a day, morning and evening, and were impeccably spotless. We were also delightfully surprised each day to find complimentary snacks and drinks thoughtfully left in our room upon our return to the hotel! All the restaurants within the St. Regis consistently offer hygienic and delicious food. We tried almost all of them. Beyond the unparalleled, luxurious breakfast at Boneka, which everyone raves about, there's also Kayuputi, an award-winning fine dining restaurant with breathtaking ocean views. From the decor to the cuisine to the service, it's absolutely flawless! Thank you, St. Regis, for an absolutely perfect holiday. See you next time!

We went for our 20th wedding anniversary and could not have been happier with our choice! This place is stunning both inside and out. We were amazed by how beautiful the surroundings were with every detail well thought out. The room was stunning and well laid out. When we arrived they had cooled down the room and heated the pool which was the absolute perfect temperature the entire time. Having a wam pool was a big part of how much we enjoyed our stay as we spent quite a bit of time in it. The room and outside patio area was very private and we felt as though we were the only ones there at times. The food was also amazing whether we ate at the poolside restaurant, the high end restaurant Aperitif, or eating in the Pinstripes Bar. We really enjoyed the bar and the staff there. They were so attentive and everyone made us feel right at home. We enjoyed great conversations there and got some good recommendations on things to see in the area. The drinks were really next level as these bartenders know their craft. It was fun to watch them mix the drinks and they explained the science behind what flavors they were combining and how some of the spices and other ingredients were locally sourced. The entire staff was also another highlight. Everyone we encountered could not have been more friendly and attentive. The general manager even took the time to sit with us to see how our stay was going and asking other questions that showed he was very committed to the property. We also like that this is a family owned property. They were staying there while we were there and it was clear they too all had a passion for excellence. We researched properties for months before deciding on Viceroy. We did spend a bit more in the end than we may have for other 5 star properties, but after reading some of the reviews at the other places, we kept circling back to Viceroy. We are so glad we did and in the end, the extra money still made the stay seem like a bargain. We have paid about the same for a tiny room in a substandard hotel in New York City and here we were treated like kings in one of the most beautiful spots we have ever stayed in. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special. We will be back! John and Dan

1. Definitely book a pool room, otherwise the garden view is a bit run-down. Pool rooms are shared by a few households, so you might encounter noisy families with kids. 2. The service was excellent – warm and proactive in resolving issues. 3. The hotel's beach club is great. 4. There are many delicious eateries nearby, including popular cafes and a good restaurant called Meimei.

Having visited Bali four times, this cliffside hotel offered the best experience, on par with Amankila, where I stayed a few months ago. With only eight villas in total, we booked a two-bedroom ocean view villa. It had a huge living room and even a game room (though we only played a racing game for a bit, unfortunately). The hotel's environment is beyond words; the ocean view is almost identical to the Alila I stayed at previously. My only regret was being overconfident based on past experience. Previous Chinese New Year trips to Bali were always sunny, but this year, Chinese New Year was late, and by the time we arrived, it was already the rainy season. We stayed for four nights and only got half a day of sunshine to explore the cliffside road; the rest of the time was gloomy and rainy. Important advice repeated three times: NEVER go to Bali during the rainy season, NEVER go to Bali during the rainy season, NEVER go to Bali during the rainy season, or you'll question all your life choices. Special shout-out: The hotel's in-room dining is incredible! The Tomahawk steak was the best I've ever had, far superior to even the most expensive French restaurants in Beijing. The portion was very generous, and the grilled lobster was also excellent; I had it three times. The value for money is exceptional, not expensive at all compared to Icon Bali mall. The only minor drawback was the lack of a Chinese-speaking butler. We've stayed at nearly twenty hotels in Bali, including Four Seasons, Amankila, Soori, and Banyan Tree, and this cliffside hotel would still be our top choice for a return visit.

We really enjoyed our honeymoon at the Four Seasons Sayan. It is the best Bali vacation I have ever been on as it offered the opportunity for my love and I to slow down and enjoy the serenity and beauty of Ubud's tropical rainforest. Review for The Legian Bali, Seminyak– Exceptional Service Beyond Expectations! I cannot say enough about the incredible service at The Legian in Bali. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful surroundings, luxurious accommodations, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What truly set them apart, however, was their unparalleled attention to detail and genuine care for their guests. During our stay, my daughter lost a sentimental earring, and despite searching, we couldn’t find it. We mentioned it in passing to the staff, not expecting much, but to our absolute surprise, two days after we checked out, I received an email from the resort—with an image of the earring they had found! Their dedication to customer service, even after we had left, speaks volumes about their commitment to excellence. It’s rare to find such a thoughtful and proactive team, and this experience alone guarantees that we will be returning to The Legian on our next trip to Bali. If you’re looking for a resort that truly cares about its guests and goes the extra mile, look no further. A huge thank you to the amazing staff—your kindness and attention to detail made all the difference! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my second stay at Jumeirah Bali, and I loved it just as much as the first time. **Amenities:** Although the hotel has been open for several years, the facilities are very well-maintained. The room was incredibly spacious, featuring two bathrooms and separate living and sleeping areas. The outdoor pool is quite large for Bali, and swimming a few laps there is truly enjoyable. **Environment:** The overall ambiance is that of a colonial palace, complemented by lush Southeast Asian vegetation, creating a perfect vacation vibe. The hotel's breakfast is no longer a choice between Middle Eastern, Continental, Japanese, and Chinese; instead, it's a special à la carte menu. Both the dining environment and the taste were excellent 👍. It was incredibly enjoyable to watch the waves from the cliff while having breakfast in the morning! **Hygiene:** It was relatively clean, and the bath towels were also very clean. **Service:** I have to commend the service; responses were prompt, and the staff were enthusiastic and helpful! Ctrip should really collaborate more with hotels on promotions. This time, I pre-booked a Garden Oasis Pool Villa through a group deal, and the value for money was outstanding. Jumeirah Bali has an exclusive area at Dreamland Beach. The sea is very blue, the waves are quite strong, and the sand is fine. The only drawback this time was a strange, inexplicable noise from the ceiling at night. I reported it to the hotel, but didn't receive a response. It wasn't a huge issue, but it did affect my sleep.

Excellent boutique resort located next to a small stream/river deep inside the rain forests of Ubud. The resort staff were simply excellent and made our stay so comfortable that I can't say enough thanks to each of them. My kids simply enjoyed the stay especially the cottage pool. The breakfast in the resort is not a buffet but Al carte and free, which makes it simply amazing. Everything was so organized and clean. Each cottage had its own privacy. Will return for another visit.

I loved this hotel when I first visited over a decade ago, and even though it's a bit older now, it still has its unique charm that can't be replicated. On our first night, we stayed in a three-bedroom cliffside villa, and the view of the magnificent Indian Ocean from the room was breathtaking. The way the pool seamlessly blends with the ocean makes for an endless, stunning panorama! The overall environment is fantastic! It has three bedrooms, a spacious living room, and a kitchen! Definitely worth experiencing! The only minor downsides were some tiny ants in the room and monkeys visiting early in the morning, but I assume these are isolated incidents that don't happen frequently. It was a truly unique experience!

For three adults with three breakfasts, Ctrip's quoted price already included an extra bed. So, upon entering the villa, an extra bed had already been set up in the living room. The private pool in the villa isn't small (pic 3), but there are no lights in the pool, making it unsuitable for swimming at night. The view looking down from the cliff is stunning (pic 2). The elevator down to the bottom of the cliff is fantastic. However, the beach at the bottom isn't great; it's all pebbles (I've been to the paid beach at Uluwatu, and it's also all pebbles). The sand is coarse. The Rock Bar directs villa guests to the topmost circular observation deck (pic 1). However, if you try to book via the Ayana app, you'll find you can't get the good spots. This is because no matter how early you book, the best seats on the circular observation deck are reserved for Europeans. If you're Asian, they won't let you sit in the prime spots. I went very early but was still assigned a seat partially obstructed by a pillar. Europeans who arrived later were directly guided to the best spots. Two Korean couples even got the best seats after arguing. Also, Dava Restaurant (exclusive to villa guests) is located behind the villa lobby, next to the infinity pool. The food is good, and there are live singing performances in the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for villa guests. No reservations are needed; you can just walk in. The buffet in the non-villa area has a decent view, but the food is mediocre, it's crowded, and the restrooms in the restaurant tend to be dirty. If you don't mind, one visit is enough. Another positive point is that the deposit was directly deducted from our expenses (unlike at Bulgari, where they don't deduct the deposit from your bill, and it takes two weeks to get it back).
