Unique food, impeccable service! I attended a large dinner in the ballroom. The chandeliers and lighting in the room created a beautiful atmosphere. The servers were kind and attentive. Main course was a unique aubergine dish - something out of the ordinary - and it was wonderfully prepared. I’ve eaten at The Alice for dinner as well as tea, and now I know that banquets are as delicious as the restaurant.

Very amazing hotel! In the cold winter, after arriving at the hotel, I saw my name on the parking lot and placed it on a reserved parking space. Very caring. Walk into a low wooden door, the wooden door is full of beautiful branches and dried fruits. Very dreamy. The warm fire that opened the door flashed in the huge fireplace, and there was a feeling in the movie. A hotel that has been remodeled for nearly 300 years. It is normal to walk up and down the stairs. I don't think it is a problem. The rooms are not large, but they are completely prepared according to the standards of five-star luxury hotels, disposable slippers (most hotels in the UK are not available), warm towel racks (all hotels stayed in 7 hotels, only this towel rack really It is so warm and warm). The location is not the most central, but walking to the central area, it is 5-8 minutes, it is also very convenient. Very close to the Bit River Museum, 5 minutes walk. Small and exquisite museums, parents with children should not miss it. The hotel’s own restaurant is very hot. Both morning and evening are full. I took my child to eat dessert at night and it tasted good. highly recommended!

During the summer vacation, the prices are favorable, the rooms are all of the same standard size, and the prices vary depending on the view. Clean and hygienic, not big, but practical. I saw that the price in September is quite expensive, costing 3K. It is very close to the Westgate Shopping Center in Oxford and is very convenient for all kinds of food. On a recent visit to Oxford I decided to stay in one of the prison cells at the Malmaison Oxford which was a former prison. It was a great decision as the rooms were indeed cells and still have the steel doors and brick walls to prove it. Everything else is completely modern with a large bathroom and nice working area. The location in what is actually part of Oxford Castle is within easy walking distance of most of Oxford's main attractions including the Ashmolean Museum, Bodleian Library and the principal colleges as well as the Westgate Mall. The hotel has a lot of nice modern art, much of it with a prison motif, albeit tongue-in-cheek. The staff is young and friendly and the clientele is quite mixed. I saw a Ford Focus parked beside a Ferrari. The dining room and bar are quite small at first glance until you realize there are many side rooms into what were once cells. The full English breakfast was great, but for dinner we went to some of the nearby pubs and the small Italian restaurant Prezzo which literally right next door. My only complaint was that the internet in the rooms is spotty, no doubt because of the thick walls and steel doors. But it works fine everywhere else. This is a luxury hotel, but the prices were definitely quite reasonable for the experience offered.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and it was nice to have extra pillows and blankets in the room, if needed. Bathroom was nice and towels were fluffy! The little extras like bottled water, hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch. The location was great...very close to the train station, which was the deciding factor to book this hotel. We were not disappointed! The little restaurant located off the lobby served a delicious breakfast!

It's clean and an easy walk to everything. It's an old hotel with narrow staircases and small bedrooms. Make sure you are not in the annex if you want a private bathroom. It was immaculately clean and we felt safe. The area is noisy, especially with the construction going on right outside but got quieter during the evening. It's a good budget hotel, not luxury but it met our needs. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance, and the canal leading to the Thames is steps away. A continental breakfast is provided and for a small amount you can order a more substantial breakfast. I'd stay again!

Ideal place to stay in the heart of Oxford. Very clean and”quaint ” couple of rooms. We just stayed for the one night in two rooms , one with an en-suite, but would have been more than happy to stay longer. This is a beautiful building but the low ceilings and narrow stairs might be a problem for some people. The listing on TripAdvisor is a bit misleading as no breakfast is included (we were made aware of this when booking) Would definitely recommend. (Unless your a bit tall and clumsy!!)

I stayed at Ethos Hotel for a few nights. The service was excellent - clean facility, modern and comfortable furniture, very friendly and helpful staff. When I needed things in the room, the response was immediate. The front desk personnel - Bushra and Samira - are both very pleasant, patient and helpful. The cafe/restaurant is also cozy, clean and offers delicious food. I think the only thing that can be more flexible is to accept both card and cash. My card gave me a little trouble upon arrival, and knowing they accept no cash gave me a little scare. Eventually my card worked, but the flexibility would have been appreciated. All else was excellent.

Very very basic. Very little care taken in general. Room was ok but small and stuffy. Decor run down . Corridors cramped and shabby. Desk was unmanned, had to buzz to get staff over road from their “ sister “ hotel. They seemed disinterested. Little local knowledge. Walls paper thin. When i left in the morning , I walked out into a building site - the whole section , including the front door , had been sectioned off workmen - who shouted at me for not wearing a hard-hat 😂 would have been nice to get a heads up from the hotel this was happening. You get what you pay for , and this was cheap , but I won’t be staying again. Recommend avoiding
