This a lovely place which I really liked!! Set right on the water. Beautiful views of the mountains and the fjord! Room was perfect for my friend and I. Lady at the front desk very nice! There's even a small museum in the lobby and an underground walkway that goes under the street that brings you out in the restaurant. The underground is done up like your in an old sailing ship with lots to look at. Pretty cool. Breakfast included but not as much to choose from from the other Foss hotels we stayed in.

This is a port in the eastern part of Iceland where you can wash your clothes! From the capital of western Iceland, it is just the middle point of travel. The clothes accumulated in a few days can be washed and dried before going to bed at night. Pay 1600 Icelandic coins (krona), use it casually. The one in front of me needs 4,000 Icelandic coins to wash once.

While the lounging and dining area was large and bright, the kitchen was tiny and poorly laid out. There was no way to have two groups prepare a meal at the same time, the sink was in the way of the fridge and the conduction cooktop did not respond to touch. One of the three days, we had no towels to wash or dry our dishes ( which were hand washed by the guests,poorly!) The bed was hard, lumpy and saggy. The bathrooms were adequately clean, but the air circulation was very poor if the door was shut between users as it often was. Their smells persisted for at least ten minutes after they left the room. The hallways and dining area was extremely echo-y. There was no way to carry on two conversations in the room at the same time. We arrived at the usual time guests would arrive - 2 other parties arrived while we were waiting - we had to ring up an employee who was off site and had to wait quite some time. We had the feeling this place was all about the owner making money and nothing else. They charge 5,000 ISK for one load of laundry! Our smaller room did not have information about the services in town but the larger rooms had all the usual information one would expect to welcome you into a new town. Despite the good breeze outside, the windows did not open enough to let enough air flow through to ventilate the rooms. We decided to leave the guesthouse one day early and forfeit the cost to get new accommodations.

Milk so good and location is convenience! Will visit again for sure!

This restaurant and its family staff was incredible and, to show that, we ended up coming here 4 separate times over a day-and-a-half period to do everything from enjoy some evening drinks, have a few meals, play mini-golf, free of charge, on their course right outside, to having my son play his first game of pool and sink his first-ever shot to the way they turned on their huge television and allowed him to watch himself on a YouTube video he just made, to playing darts (that were cleaned for us) on their multiple dartboards. The food - Icelandic Soup, amazing burgers - filled our stomachs and the hosts genuinely wanted to speak to us wherever we were in the restaurant, and they answered so many of our questions re: our first 2 weeks traveling through the country. They were Lonely Planet's with smiles and great personalities. I would give this restaurant the highest rating I have ever given a restaurant. The food is wonderful. The family is absolutely lovely. Thumbs up with all of the thumbs I can find:)

Guide: From the ring road you will drive from Egilsstaðir to the east and follow the road number 93 (Seyðisfjarðarvegur) about 30 km. A beautiful pass road is going along. Fronts of serpentines are turning up - and downwards on the other side. There are many beautiful views along the path. A few kilometres before Seyðisfjörður you can already look far in the fjord from above. The street is well developed - not a comparison to the streets in the neighbouring fjords. (The street 953 in the Mjóifjörður or the road number 94 to Hafnarólmi, I have felt partly as ”Hellrid”, because it is a steep, only squatted roads or a permanent construction site. ) However, the journey over the passport and down to the Fjord is a rather ”gondolei”. You must like or not. In summer it was possible to drive well. But in winter I'll imagine the route a little adventureful. The Lónsleira Apartments are easily found in Seyðisfjörður. Just right along the Austurvegur. At the end of the lake, the apartments are already recognized by the characteristic yellow and blue color. The car can be stopped right before the entrance to the apartments. ************* Entry/Check-in: We arrived on a Sunday evening and I have to say that I was just lost something. To date, we had the number at our accommodations beforehand either the key box by mail or a phone number we should contact at arrival. Or there was a kind of reception where we could get the key. Here we had no information, How we came to the keys and were something unconcerned. Fortunately, then I found the ”neighbors” in front of the house and asked how the check-in is going. You pointed me to a telephone number, I called and then got the PIN of the key cash. I also received a strange check-out, because there were no specifications here too. In many reviews I had read that the renter had passed over the stay. Okay, I wouldn't have had to do that. But since the booking was made over booking.com but the payment should have been made on the site, I already found it a little irritating that we were not contacted at all. Finally, we just put the key back to the safe when we leave. The cost of stay was cancelled from the credit card - although the credit card information was actually intended to be deposited for security only. Well, no matter. It wasn't bad. Maybe something went wrong - but I didn't find this kind optimal. Friendly and helpful (table reservation in another restaurant) reception. Rooms are OK, for one night everything was available, space conditions for single travelers sufficient, second it becomes a little tight. Breakfast offered was the normal, nothing exceptional, everything of good quality. Parking is sufficiently available (in front and behind the house).

It belongs to a family hotel. When it arrives, the boss puts the key at the door and takes it by name. The door is the famous Rainbow Road, and there is a restaurant next to it, which is very convenient. We chased the aurora here. The staff at the restaurant next to us suggested that we drive out a little bit, and it is easy to see without lights. We drove out for five minutes and stopped on the side of the road. We took a picture in a while. It was not a busy trip.
