Scenic Hotels in Sapporo

"Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay. The hotel's location is excellent, situated in a vibrant and convenient area, making both travel and shopping very easy. Furthermore, the hotel's overall cleanliness was commendable, with both guest rooms and common areas meticulously maintained. However, there were a few aspects that left us disappointed. Firstly, regarding breakfast. We noticed that some items at the breakfast buffet ran out before the serving time ended and were not promptly replenished. For guests who arrived later for breakfast, the food choices were significantly limited, which fell short of our expectations for a hotel of this size. Secondly, concerning the complimentary drink vouchers. We booked three rooms for a two-night stay and received quite a few complimentary drink vouchers, for which we were very grateful. On our last night, we used all remaining vouchers at once, redeeming over 10 drinks. The drinks were delivered smoothly, and the hotel also provided some small servings of mixed nuts to accompany them. However, we only received a total of four small bowls of mixed nuts. When we politely requested more from the staff, we were told that the nuts were ”out of stock.” Frankly, this response left our entire group surprised and speechless. For a hotel of its size, located in a bustling area, to run out of even basic bar snacks was truly puzzling. We understand that mixed nuts are merely complimentary snacks and not a mandatory offering, but such handling inevitably made us feel as if the hotel wasn't particularly welcoming to guests using vouchers. Since the hotel actively distributed so many drink vouchers to guests, we hoped that when guests redeemed them according to the rules, they would receive a service experience consistent with the hotel's standing. Despite these issues, the hotel's excellent location and good hygiene still added a lot of convenience and comfort to our trip. We hope that hotel management will address the issues with breakfast replenishment and bar service to further enhance the overall service quality and provide a more complete guest experience for future visitors."

"We had a wonderful stay at Portom International Hokkaido and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The hotel feels very new and modern, and everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The onsen was one of our favourite parts of the stay. It was beautifully designed, peaceful, and a great way to relax after a long day. We also appreciated having access to a well-equipped gym, which was spotless and had everything needed for a good workout. The room amenities were surprisingly comprehensive. It wasn’t just the usual toiletries—they even provided thoughtful extras like air freshener, onsen pj, actual pj, bedroom slippers which made the stay feel extra comfortable and convenient. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and quality of the facilities really stood out. Portom International Hokkaido made our trip even more enjoyable, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and premium stay near the airport."

"Receptionist was unhelpful. Tried using the self check in kiosk three times but was unable to scan my own passport and asked the receptionist (who was not doing anything) to check me in. Was told to use the kiosk again as though I hadn't just tried for the past 3 times, and only then did she tell me that it does not matter even if the passport couldn't be scanned properly. Then why is that even part of the required process? Cotton pads was as thin as a 2 ply tissue, obvious that hotel skimped on quality. Experienced a mild earthquake during my stay and the hotel was swaying quite a bit. Breakfast lacks variety and is nothing memorable. Bed was comfortable however, and room was bigger than the typical Japan hotels. Blanket was linty though, and there were some stains on the carpet on the floor. Wifi is shared throughout the hotel and was quite weak. Had quite a lot of washers and dryers to do laundry efficiently with minimal wait time."

"This is our second stay at this hotel. We chose it again because of its convenient location. The airport shuttle bus drops you off right across the street, and it's super easy to catch a bus back to the airport from here too. Plus, it's right next to Risho-dori 2, and there are two convenience stores nearby."

"The place is fairly conveniently and centrally located. Easy to get to many places just by walking. There is a bus stop to the Chitose airport that’s fairly close to the hotel. The breakfast is not bad, although seems to have not changed during my stay. The laundry is slightly costly but amazing, works really well. There are two problems. One is that the bathroom smells bad. I cannot really manage this issue after two days. Another issue is that the elevator to the breakfast restaurant seems to be a bit dirty and there’s no one cleaning it."

"The location was just a short walk from Sapporo Station making it incredibly convenient to travel around. The hotel is also surrounded by major shopping malls, offering endless choices for dining and shopping at your doorstep. The quality of the breakfast was outstanding, with highlights including the delicious French toast and the fresh seafood donburi, which was a perfect way to start the day. The onsen facilities were amazing as well."

"Pros: The hotel boasts a great location, well-designed rooms, and good breakfast. Cons: The facilities are incomplete, the room phone was out of order, the duvet was very thin, and the service was particularly poor. The hotel is about a 40-minute walk from the JR station, or two subway stops away. It's situated in a bustling commercial area, making its location quite good. The room size was decent, and the layout was comfortable. Thanks to the front desk for providing a room with a nice view. However, the duvet in the hotel was very thin. Sapporo in late June is still quite cool, ranging from 13-22℃, and it gets quite chilly at night. We requested three extra blankets upon check-in, but I still woke up freezing in the early hours. The room phone wasn't working. When I went down to the front desk, they were reluctant to provide any more blankets, feeling that three blankets for two people was already sufficient. After some persuasion, they grudgingly sent up two more. This service philosophy is very strange. Moreover, the most unacceptable aspect was the breakfast service. We arrived quite late for check-in, already past midnight, so we woke up late. We got to the restaurant at 9:40 AM, and by 10:00 AM, they started repeatedly urging us to finish. At 10:15 AM, they forcibly stopped our meal. While breakfast officially ends at 10:00 AM, we had already taken our food and were eating slowly, not requiring any further service from the hotel. I've been to Japan four or five times before and stayed in over a dozen Japanese hotels. Never once have I experienced being forcibly cleared out at the end of the meal service! They even disallowed us from taking away half-eaten bread. Where is the basic hotel service concept in the female manager of that restaurant? It's utterly outrageous! Given Sapporo's vibrant nightlife, it's common to go to bed late and wake up later, but apparently, that's not allowed at this hotel for breakfast."

"Located right next to Odori Park, which is a long, narrow strip of land surrounded by hotels, this place is really easy to find. The room was quite spacious, and the hotel felt very new. In the lobby, you can help yourself to coffee, hot water, and toiletries. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely stay here again next time!"

"Came b4 check in time and they effortlessly offered to handle our luggage, our room is pretty big even though still hard to open 3 big luggage at the same time, our room directly face the streets but we don't hear lots of noise, breakfast pretty solid, they change several menus every single day, they only clean once for our 5 nights stay, but thats fine they change the towel and emptying the trash bin everyday, they also have washing and drying machine operated by coin, microwave also,location is really good near susukino station, near nikka whisky sign, and also near bus stop to the airport over all very nice"

"10 mins walk to Sapporo station. Chose to stay there because I wanted to take the airport shuttle bus on my return date to Singapore, and their brand of hotel. It was very convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was nice except the one I stayed in facing the train track so TOTALLY NO RESTFUL NIGHTS AT ALL. I asked the front desk they said they couldn’t change the room because of the price I paid for. It was not very cheap but it was less than S$200 per night. I am not sure how to check if the room is facing any noisy direction in the app.?!"
