Hotels near 1930 International Design Park in Shanghai

The hotel is located in the heart of the North Bund. The hotel has 315 luxurious guest rooms and elegant suites, as well as a number of high-end banquet halls and multi-functional meeting rooms. I had chosen this hotel based on it's location in the financial district. The nearest metro station, Hailun Road, is approx. 15 minutes walking. Downtown Shanghai is only a few metro stations away. It is an older hotel with relative large hotel room. Our room was on the 18th floor and quiet. Unfortunately only one staff member speaks English and she was working on the evening of arrival and the morning of departure. Other staff only speaks Chinese. This is a challenge as Google Translate is blocked. The internet connection in our room wasn't working during our stay. We were advised to use the internet of other hotel rooms (less strong and fast).

Happy trip to Shanghai. The hotel is close to the subway 🚇, which is convenient for our travel. We were moved by the enthusiastic service of the hotel front desk guy and service staff. The hotel accommodation conditions and the price during the Chinese New Year are very cost-effective. In short, we are very satisfied.

We spent 5 days in Shanghai, and the Zhenyue hotel was the perfect location to explore the city from. It is a short walk to the metro station, close to Nanjing Road, The Bund Sightseeing Avenue, and people's square. The hotel itself was all we needed: comfortable and clean. The staff were lovely and so welcoming. We were very happy with our experience staying at this hotel.

Check-in wasn’t a good experience, but the hotel was okay after that. When I first checked-in, the room key cards I was given didn’t work, which was frustrating as the room was one of the furthest from reception. This meant I had to go all the way back for new keys after a long day. I just wanted to relax! Then the second room I was given didn’t match the photos on Trip.com, in particular it didn’t have a real window, looking over the dining area rather than outside. But when finally settled into the third room, the stay was okay. It was supposedly an upgrade, but it only looked like the room I had booked. The location is the big plus: right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street which leads to the Bund, both iconic locations that are great to visit. I didn’t have the breakfast as there were no spare seats, so I went to a nearby McDonald’s instead. The hotel needs to enlarge its dining area.

As soon as we arrived from our evening flight, the hotel front desk staff was very attentive and quickly prepared us for check-in and room rest. The room is warm and comfortable like home. The hotel has many breakfast options. The lobby manager was responsible for storing our luggage and guiding us in picking up our luggage. Excellent location! required

We stayed in the most expensive room in the hotel (rooftop suite with the bathtub). It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either - it's pretty worn in parts. The were strange stains all over the walls (it looked like someone had been fighting and throwing drinks at each other, or kicking a dirty football against the walls), and the bottom of the sofas and chairs pretty dirty too (most of these could be cleaned with a deep clean) and much of the furniture was worn with scuffs. It looks like the guests that stayed there recently just had their feet all over the sofas and stuff. The shower head doesn't move which would make it hard to shower if you wanted to wash your hair. Breakfast was very Chinese style but it looked good (we weren't hungry though and just grabbed a coffee). The mini bar was basic but there was lots of bottled water available. There was old water in a milk jug too, which made me feel like it hand' t been cleaned properly. We also had to give the bath a good clean ourselves before we used it as it hadn't been cleaned properly (there were some black grease marks on the bath which only build up over time of not being cleaned well). We cleaned this off ourselves before using it and gave the whole bath a good scrub with soap. I grew up with horses so I'm by no means a germaphobe, but it was grubby even by my standards. It wasn't disgusting, but not what I'd expect at this price point. The staff were mostly friendly however we acted like we didn't know Chinese to see how they acted and they were a little impolite at times (just a little, but this is kind of common in China). As an example, we asked for some champagne glasses and in Chinese one girl said to the other 'I don't know where the champagne glasses are, just give them wine glasses'. It's small, and champagne glasses did turn up in the end, but the tone was almost irritated and it felt a little rude in context. Is it rude if they think you can't understand? I don't know! We also had to request hair and toothbrushes as they weren't in the room. I feel a little petty writing it, but at 3000 RMB per night I would expect a pretty seamless, high end experience. We had a great time, but the room needs a little TLC and a good clean.

Strategic location! Hotel is just along Nanjing Pedestrian Street. Walkable to the Bund. We requested for a room with Oriental Pearl Tower view and hotel was accommodative to the request :) Buffet Breakfast is nothing to shout about though, at times might be full and hotel guests have to wait for table. Might want to skip and try some local shops instead.

There are some steps leading up to the lift lobby which brings you to the hotel lobby located upstairs. There are many malls, food and amenities within walking distance of the hotel so it is very convenient. The hotel is also very clean and the hotel staff are helpful too. Would recommend 👍

The view from our hotel room was spectacular. The service was good as well. Our room was on the 34th floor and we could see the bund as well, lower floor would be obstructed. Breakfast has a wide variety but taste is okay. We had issue calling for taxi on the checkout day due to an event in the hotel that caused a massive jam in the vicinity of the hotel. The hotel should work on traffic control to avoid causing delay to hotel guest due to such events. We were lucky we left early else we could have missed our flight.
