Special thanks to Xiao Wen for her friendliness and attention throughout our four days there — she made us feel truly welcome. The room was spotless, and towels were changed regularly. The location is very convenient: you will find bike rentals, Luckin Coffee, CoCo, FamilyMart, and several cozy local restaurants with great Chinese food just around the corner. It was also a nice touch that the reception provides free laundry capsules — super handy! Thank you so much for the hospitality. We would be happy to come back again! 🌸"

"We thought the value for money here was great. They were very helpful in letting us store our bags before check in. We were happy with the location which was close to yummy food places and the metro station. The only downside is that we booked a non-smokers room and it and the towels smelled of cigarettes. But otherwise we were very happy."

"The first room we were given was on the 6th floor, it was very run down and the the bed was rock hard. (We can normally sleep anywhere but this was extremely bad). We stayed for 2 nights before asking to move rooms. We upgraded for the remaining 3 nights for 50yuan per night and were moved to the 7th floor. The bed was much more comfortable. The location was superb and the staff were friendly and helpful, it’s just a shame we were charged more to upgrade the room because the bed wasn’t comfortable. This should be provided to every room. Wouldn’t stay again for this reason"

Walkable distance. - Low cost Budget friendly - Daily cleaning - bread and boiled egg minimal breakfast - recommend if you are a solo traveler and a comfy place to sleep - front desk person PIPI checks with you how is your stay. Thanks Pipi Cons: - The entrance to the hotel looks shady. They need to improve it for getting good customer feedback. - small rooms. But it's okay for budget hotels."

"Room was big enough for the two of us, location was great as well, just a 5-10minutes walk depending on speed. 小王 and colleagues were all very nice and friendly. Wechat enquires was replied quickly. Would stat again!"

"The place is a bit hidden on the 4th floor of an old building. However, the interior is really modern and comfy. The room is small but functional with all appliances and amenities that you need. In addition, the place is in a prime location, very close to the Bund, Nanjing pedestrian street and just a few minutes walk away from the metro station"

"Overall the lane house is decent set within a lively Shanghai Lane House experience. We lived in 2 for 2 months when we first moved to Shanghai. This was our return trip to revisit our home of 4 yrs. The initial photos for Guisu Homestay with the charming window view doesn’t match the initial sell, but the detailed photos of the actual space does. However it’s smaller than it looks, as the top loft and kitchen counts within the measurement. So if you’re a family of 4 then this is perfect since the middle room will give you space to sit. But if you are 5 with the sofa permanently done up as a bed then it’s tight. All was good except the the shower doors were a little run down and shower was gunky and could use a little redo. All in all a good experience. The host was responsive to our needs but strict on the 12noon checkout. The neighborhood and overall location is unbeatable. Close to great food and served as our center base to revisit the French Concession from Jing An. Definitely a good place if this is your first time in Shanghai."

"Liked this place! The location is super convenient — just about 300 meters from East Nanjing Road Station. You can take Exit 1, 2, or 3, but I highly recommend Exit 2 since it has escalators both up and down, and you pop up right inside the Hengji Celebrity Shopping Center, which makes it super easy, especially if you're carrying bags. The walk from the station to the hotel is nice too — lots of local food spots along the way. There are two small streets (Tianjin Rd and Ningbo Rd) with tons of restaurants, probably around 20 in total. Good prices and great variety. At the front desk, only one staff member spoke English, but they were all really helpful and friendly. Google Translate worked fine with the rest. Big shout-out to the housekeeping team — they were amazing. The room was cleaned daily, towels changed, and water refilled — very on point. We stayed in a family room, which is a duplex (two floors). The first room we got didn’t have a window and was a bit tight — hard to open luggage — but luckily the AC wasn’t working, so we got moved to another room with a window facing the street. That room was much better — clean, bright, and spacious enough for 3–4 people comfortably, just like in the photos. The air conditioning was super cold, which was great after a long day out, and the bed and pillows were soooo soft and comfy! There was a slight cigarette smell at first, but it went away after a day or two. Blackout curtains were great. Even though our room faced the street, it wasn’t noisy at night — Beijing Rd is surprisingly quiet, especially late. There’s a Lawson right next to the hotel, open 24/7, which was super handy. Also, there are a ton of shared bikes parked right outside the entrance — every color and brand you can think of — so getting around was easy. The bus stop is close, and you can get a Didi taxi right from the front door."

"Is a short walk of about 5 minutes to the nearest Metro which call Tian Tong station. At this station, is a direct station to Hongqiao Railway as well as the Hongqiao Airport. And only 1 stop to the famous Nanking Road East. Easy to find the place and lots of eateries and shopping just around the corner. The room we chose was exactly the same as what they offered in Trip.com. Check in and out is hassle free and staff are very attentive and gives clear instruction. Will stay there again if we are back in Shanghai."

"We stayed here as a family for three nights, and it was an excellent experience overall. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and well equipped. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the water pressure in the shower was strong. We especially appreciated the generous supply of fresh towels and bottled water, which were replenished daily. Having a washing machine was also a big plus. The apartment had a kitchen, which is a great option, although it didn’t come with cutlery or cooking utensils by default. That said, they made it clear that anything needed for cooking could be provided on request. The location was fantastic—very central and close to everything, with an amazing view of the Bund that we really enjoyed. Check-in and check-out were both incredibly smooth and simple, and the staff were very accommodating, even allowing us to check in earlier than the official time. The only small downside was the initial entrance experience. Since there’s no dedicated reception area, you walk into a general office space that feels a bit odd as the “welcome point.” It worked fine, and the staff were kind (even storing our luggage before check-in), but a more welcoming designated area would improve first impressions. Overall, though, this was a very comfortable and convenient stay. The apartment had everything we needed, the location was perfect, and the staff were helpful—I’d definitely recommend it."
