Location: Strategically located near to The Bund, Nanjing Pedestrian Street and Yuyuan Garden. Nearest metro station is Yuyuan Garden which is about 10-15 mins walk. Or you can take DiDi to the station which costs not more than 15RMB.
Room and toilet: Room is clean and comes with 2 bottles of water daily. You can always ask for more water from the reception. Toilet is also clean. Basic amenities like toothbrush is provided upon request. There is hair dryer, electric kettle, tea and instant coffee, mini fridge provided in the room.
Price: Definitely value for money.
Others: Hot water and tea bags are provided at the hotel lobby. There is also a foosball table at the lobby if you’re up for some games. There is a convenience store next to the hotel where you can get some bread, snacks, all kinds of bottled drinks, ice cream and basic necessities.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel has spacious rooms and a laundry room. The breakfast is a very comprehensive buffet with a touch of Chinese dishes, but everything is delicious. The area where it's located is very financially connected and is just a few kilometers from the metro. The only point for improvement is that there should be non-smoking floors. The smell of cigarettes in the hallways and rooms didn't make for a perfect stay.

Convenient & Comfortable, But Air Conditioning Issues
This hotel has a fantastic location right above Line 8 Dashijie Metro Station, making it extremely easy to explore Shanghai. Car hailing services can pick up and drop off directly in front, which is very convenient.
The beds were comfortable and the shower had strong water pressure, a big plus. The breakfast was decent, though the variety didn’t change much during our stay. The staff were helpful, and a few spoke English, which was great for communication.
A standout feature was the bidet in the toilet, something rare to find in China and much appreciated!
However, the air conditioning wasn’t working during our 3 night stay due to the hotel’s old system requiring maintenance. We were given a table fan, which wasn’t ideal, especially in warmer weather. The hotel did offer us the option to cancel our stay, but we decided to stay because of the many other positives.
Overall, this is a good hotel with great amenities and service, but the AC issue was a significant downside. If that gets fixed, it would be a much smoother experience.

Riverdale Residence Xintiandi is an absolute delight. It’s the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. Its location is unbeatable: just a short walk to major attractions like Xintiandi, Huaihai Road, and the French Concession, yet tucked away from noisy boulevards, making it feel like a peaceful retreat.
The executive studio was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean! I loved the well-equipped kitchenette (great for light meals) and the in-room washing machine, which made longer stays effortless. The AC was a lifesaver in Shanghai’s heat, and I appreciated the strict no-smoking policy (no lingering smells anywhere!🤩).
What truly stood out was the thoughtful layout, smart storage, a comfortable workspace, and a nice bathroom. Housekeeping was consistent and thorough, and the staff were helpful without being intrusive.
Final verdict? I’d happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a central yet serene home base in Shanghai. 10/10!

A nice cozy hotel in the heart of Huangpu, Shanghai. . Close proximity to Dashijie metro station. Room is comfy. A bit smaller than I'm used too but I'm not complaining. It has everything you'll need. Table with wireless charging provided too. Huge TV in the room 😁. Food at breakfast is yummy. My favourite the yogurt snack bar, scallion oil noodles 👍👍👍 and lastly the waffles. They also have a coffee and drinks bar at the lobby. what I find interesting is that they also serve evening snack from 9.30pm to 11pm we tried it on our second night 😋😋😋. They also have self laundry area which is very handy if u need to wash clothes. Last but not least staff really helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again when I come back to Shanghai ❤️

I had a wonderful one-night stay at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi in May. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and up to the high standards you’d expect from a Langham property. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the Xintiandi district, with great access to shopping, dining, and cultural spots.
A special highlight of my stay was the complimentary birthday arrangement thoughtfully prepared by the Guest Relations team for my twin daughters. It was a lovely surprise and truly added a personal touch to the experience. Their attention to detail and warm service made the celebration extra memorable.
Highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers looking for luxury, comfort, and attentive service in Shanghai

When we arrived at the hotel on a day that was nearly 30° C we were informed that there was no air conditioner working in the hotel. I asked for a fan and they said they could not provide one because they’re all lent out to others. They did not give any help or compensation, which is completely unacceptable. The hotel was clean and the space was big but we paid a lot of money for there to be no air conditioner and they didn’t tell us beforehand. Would not come back here, they should have done more for us since this was their own fault.

We had a wonderful stay at the Andaz in Shanghai, made even better by the exceptional service we received from Lynn at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Lynn went out of her way to assist us with our room and check-in, communicating clearly and confidently in English, which made everything smooth and stress-free.
The hotel is ideally located, close to restaurants, shops, and some of Shanghai’s most exciting attractions, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, a true retreat after a day of sightseeing.
The attention to detail, warm hospitality, and high standard of service truly stood out. Thank you, Lynn, for your kindness and professionalism. You made our stay at the Andaz unforgettable.
We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Shanghai!

A Hidden Gem on Wukang Road
The hotel’s location is simply perfect—nestled in the heart of the former French Concession, along the tree-lined Wukang Road. Towering plane trees form a lush green canopy overhead, their branches intertwining like endless emerald tunnels. The neighborhood is dotted with charming boutiques and cafés, making it ideal for leisurely city walks.
The building itself is a masterpiece of architecture—an exquisite work of art. Though compact, it offers just the right amount of space for a tranquil retreat.
Our room was incredibly comfortable, featuring a spacious terrace that opened directly into a small garden. The view was a sea of greenery and blooming flowers. We kept the French doors wide open, letting in the gentle spring breeze. In the evenings, we spent hours on the terrace sipping tea, chatting, and reading. The book left thoughtfully by our bedside, *The Golden Branches and Jade Leaves of Shanghai*, was so engrossing that I couldn’t put it down—even during my bath!
Breakfast the next morning was delightful. Alongside the expected Western-style breakfast set (fitting for a heritage mansion), there was a sweet and unexpected touch: a warm bowl of pumpkin millet congee.
But what truly stood out was the exceptional service. We had ordered two bicycles to bring back to Singapore, but due to reinforced packaging for air transport, they exceeded the airline’s size restrictions. With limited time before our flight, we had to arrange last-minute shipping to a logistics hub in Guangzhou. The front desk staff—Ivy, Ace, and Boris—handled everything with remarkable patience and efficiency. They took charge of the freight arrangements, allowing us to leave for the airport without a single worry.
My only regret? Not finishing that captivating book. I suppose I’ll have to return to the Metropolitan Seclusive Life in Wukang to read the rest.

The hotel’s in a super good spot, just a short walk to two subway lines. There’s a KFC right out front, and tons of places to eat, shop, and grab coffee nearby. Really good! If you take the subway from the airport, use Exit 2. It’s got an escalator, so it’s easier with luggage.

GGuest UserThe experience is very good. You can reach Wutong District when you go out. It is in the city center. Next to it is Sinan Mansion and the former residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The subway station is also very close, about 10 minutes' walk. It is very convenient to go anywhere. There are two large beds, a sofa and a projector, which are very comfortable. The community is full of former residences of celebrities and has a strong cultural atmosphere. The housekeeper Andy said that this is a typical Shanghai-style building, which is indeed very distinctive. The red brick exterior wall is very beautiful, and the interior decoration is also in the style of the Republic of China. The housekeeper is very nice, the service is thoughtful, and the reply is very fast. It will be my first choice next time I come to play. Recommended!

They have free water, Coca-Cola, popcorn, tea, and coffee available 24 hours a day. All free!! Excellent. I stayed 13 days with my family and had no problems. You can go walking to subway station, 71 bus station and also to west Nanjing road.

GGuest Userthe view is so nice, clean and close to train station, Aunfu rd. and Wukang rd. close to big 7-11 and not far from lowson and family mart. The room so small not good to choose upper bed, lil bit too high and hard to go up and down anyway i don’t think it’s bad. i got the room close to WC and shower room lil bit annoying from water pump or something. i really hate the ground floor of the building. It's a steep staircase of about 10 steps. It's very difficult with big luggage. But the receptions are nice they can speak ENG and help anything i asked. i will back to stay there, if i go to shanghai again.

Very comfortable bed and good room temperature. As the hotel warns you, you can hear some late night noise from the bar over the street but it didn’t bother us at all.

Booking a room is honestly incredibly difficult. You need a central location and plenty of beds, which is often difficult to achieve. After looking around for days, I finally booked this place. It was also my first time staying in a B&B in Shanghai. Honestly, I didn't run into any setbacks. The entire experience was excellent. The B&B contact contacted me immediately, sent me the address, and the check-in process was clear and straightforward. We arrived at the door at 8:00 AM and found it easily. We, two adults and two children, all commented on the cozy interior, especially the washing machine with dryer—it was amazing. Traveling with kids, especially with a second child, a washing machine is so important! It even dries! 🫡
I don't need to go into other options. The experience was just as good.

The room is quite small and best for travellers travelling light. I had some trouble with a large suitcase as there's not enough space to open it.
Staffs were super super friendly and accomodating. They were willing to help and assist.
