Hotels in Shanghai

We booked two rooms, one of which was upgraded to a suite for free. Thnak you. The design of the hotel is quite old and dated, but it is clean and neat. The breakfast was not good, this is the only IHG hotel where I have to find my own table and the restaurant was quite full. The breakfast choices are quite limited, not the Crowne Plaza hotel standard I expected.

What we love - its central location, cleanliness, a lot of food choices during breakfast buffet, heated pool. We just had some concerns during booking and check in, it was not indicated that our room has no windows but the reception just gave us this room without windows. Due to winter, temperature control cannot be changed so it tends to be very warm.

Our stay was pleasant and most of the staff were very helpful & friendly. They will greet us whenever we walked pass. Too bad we did not have the chance to enjoy the facilities and dine in the hotel. One feedback I had was during our check-in day on 28 Feb 2024. We were not sure if we had arrived at the right hotel as we do not know the hotel's Chinese name. It was raining and I wanted to alight & make a quick check with an older porter at the hotel entrance/drop-off point. When I asked the older porter ”这里是不是 Okura Garden Hotel?” He just brushed me aside and said ”不知道!”. In the end I had to dashed into the hotel lobby and reconfirmed with the reception on duty. Understand that English may not be a common language for the hotel staff especially the older ones. But won't it make a great difference if the staff at least knows the English name of the hotel that they are working for?

Great location to visit the Bund, Yun Garden and City God Temple anytime. Booked the family suite room as a first timer. The room has two beds, enough space for up to 4 person and a living room. Room facing Landmark view (a sculpture). Top notch bidet toilet bowl, automatic closure and opening plus heating of the pad. Down side is the room was stuffy and hot during cold season. Heating system is centralised and the most the hotel staff can do is to provide an additional fan in the room to help with the ventilation. Presume this will the problem of most hotel who use centralised heating/cooling system. Staff is accommodating when you ask for their help. Standard of service is acceptable for me.

Lovely hotel in a pretty good location. Loved the cloud bar! Staff seemed very confused about the “gifts” included in the hotel booking, and opening times of the bar for new years but Mr Lee was very helpful. The rooms are decent. A little dirty marks on the wall. Could definitely offer better services such as changing bedding pillows or room service. Not worth the money we paid.

Overall, it is an excellent hotel. The location is extremely convenient, right at Xintiandi. The hotel is not brand new, but very well maintained. Two points I would like to make: 1. if you book your trip through third party, you cannot use your stay toward your frequent stay points (not a huge deal). 2. they do not have room to fit our family of 4. We need to reserve two rooms. This is because of the room type, not really anything to do with the hotel itself.

The breakfast is delicious and tastes good. The restaurant wait staff provide excellent service.definitely have to come stay again

Really amazing hotel. Service was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable and there were more than sufficient amenities. The only reason I clicked 4/5 on the cleanliness was because there were one or two stains on the curtains but otherwise it was perfect. At breakfast they were very helpful in making sure I had enough vegetarian food.

This was our first time staying here as a guest. We were lucky that we got upgraded to Club Deluxe River room, which is bigger and better. I love their massive bathroom, very clean. The staffs were friendly and approachable too. I love the view from our room, especially at night. The breakfast buffet has 2 options, western and chinese cuisine. We tried both and it tastes good, good view as well. Everything was great, and we plan to come back again.

The breakfast spread is amazing! They have 2 wings, the newer wing is Oriental and has full length window. This is at the newer Wing. Please wake up early for the breakfast, queue was Long for the count down weekend, would be a waste to miss the breakfast.
