NNaixin17Before coming to Pingyao, I browsed over 10 guesthouses on Trip.com and finally chose this one! The main reason was its excellent location, especially since I was traveling with elderly family members. It's right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, making it super convenient to visit attractions like the Rishengchang Draft Bank, the Armed Escort Agency, and the County Government Office – everything is close by! 👍👍👍
The rooms aren't huge as it's an old house converted into a guesthouse, but they are very clean. All the necessary facilities are there, and both the rooms and the courtyard are spotless and comfortable. 🫰🫰🫰
The service was fantastic. The owner is very welcoming and attentive, always busy making sure everything is perfect. He gave us great recommendations on which attractions were worth visiting, marking them out on a map for us, which saved us a lot of valuable time planning our itinerary! When we left, he even gave us a bottle of their aged vinegar as a gift! 🫶🫶🫶 (Oh, and they offer pick-up and drop-off services; the young man who drove us was incredibly enthusiastic and energetic! 🤭🤭🤭)
Friends planning a trip to Pingyao should definitely contact this guesthouse owner and give it a try – it's excellent! (Lastly, I have to mention that all the restaurants he recommended were delicious, and if you mentioned his phone number, you even got a 15% discount! 🤩🤩🤩)

GGuest UserAs soon as you enter the courtyard, you will see a very exquisite courtyard, which is clean and tidy. The courtyard is particularly quiet. When you enter the room, there is a very wide sofa area, which is very comfortable for watching TV. The space is indeed larger than the standard rooms in other houses in the ancient city. The store lady specially made the bed in the standard room much wider. It is very comfortable for one person to sleep on, and two people can sleep without feeling the space is tight. This detail is really great, I love it. I'm really attracted by her toiletries, they are so easy to use and I really like them. Her home is an ancient courtyard from the Qing Dynasty.

SSergio QuintanillaPingyao Rongchang homestay inside Pingyao city walls was a great choice for us. The hotel was a few steps from the south city wall entrance and short walking distance to Pingyao attractions like west street and museums. The hotel is super nice with a beautiful ancient courtyard. The rooms are new, modern and super clean. The host was the best part. He welcomed us with a platter of fresh assorted delicious fruit. We were allowed to check in way before check-in time. The host provided us with a tourist map of pingyao and several discount coupons for restaurants. Every day our room was serviced and when returning late at night he will greet us with a fresh fruit platter every day. He was always available at the front lobby or via wechat. He assisted us in operating the room washer and drying machine. At check out we received two gifts. Our experience at this hotel was excelent and top notch, I would highly recommend this hotel.

RRoshan_hotmailWe had a fantastic stay here, largely thanks to the incredibly helpful and kind host. The hotel is housed in a 300-year-old building, giving you a beautiful, authentic experience of ancient China, but the interior is fully updated and very calm.
Arrival and Service: The host is highly organized. They arranged a free shuttle to pick us up the moment we stepped out of the Pingyao Gucheng railway station, and provided a free drop-off when it was time to leave. Upon arrival, the host sat down with a map, clearly explained how to navigate the walled city, and gave us great advice on what to prioritize.
The Room: It looks ancient from the outside, but it is a spacious, spotlessly clean, modern hotel room on the inside. It features a large flat-screen TV and a smart voice-control system for the lights. The bathroom was immaculate and entirely modern, complete with an excellent shower and a heated toilet seat. I cannot believe they provide a room of this quality for such an affordable price. It is truly worth it.
Location & Breakfast: The hotel is in a very convenient spot inside the Pingyao city walls, just a 10-minute walk to the evening light show. Breakfast is included. Rather than a standard buffet, they serve a nice traditional set meal featuring millet porridge (xiaomi), fried vegetables, and eggs (see my uploaded pictures).
I highly recommend this place if you want top-tier hospitality and a clean, comfortable blend of ancient atmosphere and modern convenience.

GGuest UserI stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in October, with my friends who booked separate rooms. We had a free transfer from and to the train station which was very handy. The room was clean and very modern looking, with a smart kettle platform (you need to tap twice on the kettle icon to activate it and boil water - it wasn't written anywhere). The receptionist gave us tips about shopping and also shared his own tea with us, so lovely! The only thing I would like to improve is a Wifi coverage, somehow inside the room it was always saying 'no data connection' despite showing the strongest signal. And the other Wifi they set up for me worked only outside of the room, so I would need to open the door each time I wanted a signal. But I had mobile internet as well so I survived.
Just a warning: I think it's unprofessional to play video games without headphones when customers approach you, but maybe the staff's paycheque is low and the manners are not deeply rooted. It just looked unusual to me, because in my country you can lose your job if you behave this way.

GGuest UserExcel·lent place to stay, near the main street and with lots of places to eat nearby. The room was immense, clean and very comfortable and the bathroom was so modern and clean. We had an electric toilet where you could flush the toilet automatically and even warm the seat at a certain temperature. It was an experience! They gave us fresh fruit also and provided us with water and clean towels everyday. The hotel looks a little bit old and maybe it needs generally a bit more maintainacee and ckeanenkess but overall the bedroom was fantastic which is the most importants. The staff also speaks very good English and they helped us when we calked them as we didn't find first the hotel. Turns out that Harmony Hotel and Jade Garden Hotel is the same just in case maps doesn't bring you to the right place. Also the experience of sleeping in a traditional house with the gardens and patios outside it's Soo cool.

”I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The experience started perfectly with a complimentary pickup service at the train station, where the staff was waiting for me with a welcome sign. The hotel owner is incredibly kind and thoughtful, even lending me a portable translator to help with my communication during the trip.
The room is very modern and equipped with high-tech facilities. The bed is soft and comfortable, and the air conditioning system works perfectly for both heating and cooling. I was particularly impressed by the in-room water dispenser (both hot and cold water) and the massive projector screen which provided great entertainment.
The breakfast was delicious, served in a beautifully presented set. Every detail was taken care of with heart. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and hospitable stay!”

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much

Tento nádherný hotel v historickém centru města Pingyao musím vřele doporučit. Hotel je opravdu autentický, dobře vybavený, pokoj byl krásný a během pobytu mi nic nechybělo. Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. Nevybrat si tento hotel pro svůj pobyt by byla velká chyba. Moc děkuji

AAnonymous UserWe ended our five-day trip to Shanxi and were very satisfied with Shanxi, especially this B&B in Pingyao Ancient City. After booking the room, we contacted the inn and reserved a parking space for us. We got off the expressway and arrived at the parking lot smoothly, and someone came over. They were very considerate in picking up my luggage. The location of the inn is very good, just at the intersection of the pedestrian street. It is not noisy at night and is very convenient for traveling. This is the most recommended one. The inn is a typical Shanxi courtyard house, just like living in a TV series. The courtyard is very comfortable, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the service is excellent. I recommend everyone to stay here.

GG HofmannAmazing hotel in the middle of Ancient Pingyao. Only stayed 1 night, but managed to see the major sights within the city walls. The owner was very helpful organising a transfer back to the train station after checking out. The only issue is communication before and after departure as the owner doesn't answer queries sent directly to the hotel. We wanted to arrange a transfer before arrival, but haven't received a reply. Additionally after leaving the hotel we realised that we have left my medication in a portable fridge at reception. Tried calling the hotel several times, but they didn't pick up the phone. Otherwise we had great experience.
