The hotel was clean and offered great value for money. While the breakfast selection was a bit limited, it's a good place to stay if you're visiting Hallstatt, and it's also very convenient for exploring the lake district. We actually had a lot of trouble figuring out transportation to Hallstatt initially, going out of our way unnecessarily. Turns out, there's a train station just about 500 meters from the hotel, which offers easy access to many places. This station also doubles as a bus stop. You can take the 542, then transfer to the 543 or 541/544 to reach Hallstatt or Gosau. The train and bus schedules are seamlessly connected, making it super convenient. We wish we had known this earlier, as the transportation issues caused us a lot of stress. I'd suggest the hotel create a Chinese transportation guide to help future guests avoid similar travel difficulties.

yeeqinghewThe view from the room was absolutely stunning and easily the highlight of our stay. We were given two rooms, which made the stay very comfortable for our group of 3. The shower had great water pressure and was honestly one of the best we experienced during our trip.
If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Gosau, this hotel offers great value for money. There’s also a sauna and fitness room available. One thing to note is that the sauna follows the traditional Austrian style, where guests are expected to use it nude.
The bathroom layout was a little unusual, with the toilet and shower located in separate areas, which felt slightly inconvenient at times.
As for the breakfast, there weren’t many options. We also tried the hotel’s dinner buffet (€29 per person), and it was quite decent.

This photo was taken from my lake-view balcony on the third floor. The hotel owner wasn't as fierce as some online reviews suggested; in fact, they greeted us with a smile every day. The room was typical of a European guesthouse – basic facilities, but very clean. It's close to the station and has a beautiful view from the window.

Visibly clean, but dirty if you looked close (moldy shower). In the standard double that I stayed in, you will get two (only 2) outlets in your room and neither will be near the bed. You will have one trashcan in the bathroom that is smaller than a gallon/two liters. Other than that, not horrible.
The restaurant is very expensive if you’re traveling on a budget (€40 Weiner schnitzel, so I would recommend finding something else to eat. If you plan on having more than a coffee for breakfast, definitely get a breakfast plan st the hotel. It is about €12 a morning and a cappuccino will run you about €8 euros in the resturant. A breakfast plan gets you whatever you want in the resturant in the morning for free!
If you’re planning on exploring the area, you’ll definitely want a car or bike, do NOT rely on public transit or you will end up paying a lot for taxis. You also cannot rely on uber because you’re too far away from Salzburg.

Disappointing stay at this hotel.
1. Thermostat not working within the room were the ambient temperature I guess was around 25 degrees.
As front desk to resolve and was advised that none of the thermostats within the hotel worked as it was centrally heated. Advise was to open the window...obviously the front desk rep would not have slept in this room with the window open to the traffic noise.
2. Paid room tax by cash upon arrival and requested receipt for expenses and was advised i would receive this at checkout. So at checkout I was then advised the hotel had emailed the receipt to me and as you can guess I never received.
Front desk then advised it was being resent and likewise never received.
To the manager...I will ensure a return visit to your hotel in the coming weeks and expect you to refund my 4.50 Euros!

It's a little far from Linz station, but it's convenient to move around because there is a bus stop in front of you. There is also a SPAR nearby, so I think it would be nice to have daily necessities there. I think breakfast can be slow because there are not many people and people when I go early.

Guest UserWe were very satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel and its convenient location close to the motorway on our route towards Slovenia. Parking was easy, and the self-check-in via the automated machine was quick and trouble-free. Everything was exactly as expected, making it a very good choice for an overnight stop during a long journey.

FrankfanxiaochengGood: The location is excellent, right in front of the main square. Bus lines 1, 2, 3, and 4 are all within 100 meters, making it very convenient for getting around. There are many dining options downstairs, including a Sichuan restaurant across the alley which was decent but the portions were small.
Okay: This is a hotel in an old European-style building. There's no air conditioning, so it can get quite hot and stuffy with the windows closed. It probably depends on the weather; we didn't really need AC during our stay. We only received one bottle of water on check-in for a three-day stay, and it wasn't replenished afterward (though free water was available in the lobby). Breakfast was very basic, with no hot dishes except for a boiled egg.
Just a side note, the European economy might be struggling. When paying the city tax at the end, they even asked for a tip, which I found a bit off-putting, so I didn't give one.
It probably meets a 3-star standard.

Very enjoyable stay. Easy check in. Plenty of parking and host is extremely kind and hospitable. Property is close to supermarket and bakery which is not open on Sunday. Reminder the ferry into Hallstatt from Obertraun doesnt run in winter. Clean and amazing canopy shower head. Very good stay.

Beautiful setting and a cute town in the heart of the Austrian Alps Lake District. The breakfast was great with many selections. Parking is a bit of a problem with limited space for unloading only near the hotel. Highly recommend this location for easy access to Bad Ischl and Hallstättersee without the crowds.
