Tokyu REI Hotel is located at the Okaido Station of Matsuyama City Tram. Just get off and cross the road to the hotel. It is also opposite the Okaido Commercial Street, so you can go shopping downstairs. It is very convenient to take the city tram to the JR station and Matsuyama City Station.
The room was quite small, and the view from the window was a messy cityscape. You couldn't even see Matsuyama Castle from the room. Both the bedding and breakfast were of mediocre quality, which meant it wasn't great value for money.
However, the location was excellent. From Matsuyama Station, you can take tram line 3 or 5 to Okaido, and the hotel is just a two-minute walk from the tram stop. The hotel is surrounded by various dining options and is very close to department stores.
Breakfast spread is good and service staff attentive.
Location is within walking distance to Takashimaya and JR Matsumaya Station.
Bathroom is of decent size by Japanese standard.
Only issue is parking is not within the hotel and had to park 50m away and hence loading/unloading of luggage is a bit troublesome
The bed and breakfast was satisfactory for this trip. The breakfast combines Japanese and Western styles, including curry rice, fried eggs, grilled fish, miso soup, etc. It is rich and delicious, bringing energy to the day. Although the room is not big, it is simple and clean in design, fully equipped, and the lighting and natural light create a comfortable atmosphere. The luggage was neatly placed, indicating a smooth check-in. The overall feeling is warm and relaxing, and it is a pleasant stay experience.
Very impressive arranegment and hospitality. I had a cycling accident in Seto inland sea and requested a delay checkin. The hotel texted me to offer assistance. Upon knowing my injury, the hotel upgraded me to a big private room for which i did not have to walk upstairs to my room and there was a private bath room inside. When i arrived at late night, all food were well prepared on table whilst fresh sushi were stored in the fridge. The hotel is a traditional Japanese hostel with warm hospitality and nice massage facilities. Surely will pick it when travel there again.
Very close to the station, just a few steps away without luggage. The hotel has free drinks, but the selection is relatively small. The hotel opened last year, so everything is new and the design is relatively modern. The bed and toilet are relatively large, but there is not much standing space in the room, and the suitcases are not easy to open. The bathhouse is also designed in a relatively modern way, and the water temperature feels about 43 degrees, which is quite hot. I was the only one eating this morning, and the waiter kept bringing the dishes to my side and asked if I wanted more, which was very enthusiastic. In the end, I really couldn't eat anymore. There are some local cuisines.
Hotel with service planning such as welcome drink and happy hour drink.

Based on this hotel, you can enjoy Uwajima and Nanyo area.
Very well located hotel in Dogo Onsen. Shops and restaurants around the corner. Few minutes walk to the Dogo station (tram and bus). Free good coffee for breakfast (even if you don’t buy breakfast (not expensive)). Helpful staff. Smallish room with excellent bed and shower/bath. Very good Price-Quality.
On the ‘hill’ behind the Honkan Onsen (seen from the hotel) there is an Information. They have some free short walks printed. There is also a free footbath with a view on the Honkan (and the Patio hotel).
Famous temple 51 is 20-30 minutes walk from the hotel or take a bus.
The best central hotel you'll find. Fantastic value for money, the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. It's only a few streets away from a massive shopping district including restaurants, so you won't have to go far when you're hungry. There's a tram station very nearby so you can get to Dogo Onsen easily.
The internet in the room is a godsend. Most hotels skimp on the internet so you can only load one webpage an hour, and it makes looking up day trip ideas and booking things a huge pain. At this hotel I had no issues with it. This made it the best hotel for a 'home base' to plan day trips from.
Beware Google Maps getting here, it points you to the southern side of the block, the entrance to this hotel is on the northern side of the block.

GGuest UserHotel has some distance from the main Dogo mall but it has shuttle bus running every 10 mins from 3-10. Hotel itself is very clean and most of the staff were so friendly and carried traditional Japanese good manner.
My room is Japanese style and I love it. The breakfast was ok but the dinner was abundant, delicious and presented nicely. The staff named Itsuki Deguchi who took care my check in and dining service did a good job worthy to receive compliments.
Onsen was clean and very nice.
Will stay again next time
GGuest UserThe owner's wife and a female staff member gave us a very detailed explanation. The facilities were very clean. There was a designated bicycle parking shed, so we felt safe.
The hostel was nice, so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay.

AAnonymous UserI've stayed at Route Inn hotels many times and have always been very satisfied. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, relatively large, and the hotel has a hot spring, which is very comfortable. There is also a parking lot for those who drive.
GGuest UserWe had a super warm welcome by the owner couples. They are the nicest and inspiring people I ever met!The house is clean and you can find skillful crafts everywhere in it.We had everything we needed. There are manga books in English and Japanese gimmick toys for leisure.Three types of bedrooms all is spacious and cozy.Location is perfect, beautiful sea view from the kitchen window. Beach is steps away.Neighborhood is quiet and nice.
