We just passed two great nights in this lovely hotel in the heart of Mount Fuji.
I highly recommend coming here, specially if you love Vietnamese food like me haha.
The rooms are big with a good size balcony (unusual in Japan) the amenities are excellent, the bath is big and very functional and the staff is very nice
The location is perfect with just 14 minutes walking from the station and just 10 minutes away from a big shopping mall, supermarkets at just 4 minutes and obviously Mount Fuji just in front of you, everybody wants to wake up with Fuji-San and a coffee.
Also very family friendly from what I saw with multiple families with kids.
The lady boss is friendly and speaks good english. Our room is on the 2nd floor. When we opened our window we could see Mt Fuji, how nice! There are yukata clothes and green tea set for us. We used the shared bathroom on the same level and went to the top floor for hot spring bath (men and women separated places). Note that there is no lift. There are table tennis and board games on the basement. It is very convenient to have lawson (5 min away, many ppl take photo) and eating places nearby and walkable 12mins to the lake. We paid 750yen each and had our western breakfast at the restaurant below., good coffee, see picture. The location is excellently convenient 2 mins to kawaguchiko Station and bus station. I recommend it!
Excellent, I loved it! I definitely have to go back and stay again. The view of Mount Fuji is absolutely stunning, and it's super close to the station. You have to get up early to snap photos of Fuji before it disappears!
The room itself was fantastic, much better than other hotels I've stayed at. I really preferred this one. The room was beautiful, and the bathroom was great, with almost everything a luxury hotel offers. All the amenities you could need were provided, so you don't even have to bring your own. We chose the Japanese-style bedding with two futons, which was perfect for two people.
The environment is clean, and the service attitude is great. The owner is very kind; they upgraded me from a quad room to a single room. Plus, you can rent bicycles, which is super convenient.
Good - The cabins are well insulated for weather & noise. Well appointed with pyjamas, towels, various bathroom supplies (extra can be obtained from snack room) complimentary noodles or frozen meals & bottled water/beer. The beds were soft & comfortable. The cabins were spotless.Equiped with a/c, air purifier & fan heater. In a quiet area of the neighbourhood. Great view of Mt Fuji from the rooftop balcony. Short walk to restaurants & 7/11.
Average - I had difficulty completing the pre arrival registration however the staff quickly responded to emails helping me through the process. There are e-bikes & scooters for hire onsite. But you must have access to a Japanese phone number to register the app to hire them. Tourist Sim & pocket wifi don't allow a phone number it is data only.
Bad - it is further away from the train station than shown on Google maps - allow 1.6klm to either Fujisan or Fuji-Q stations. The carpark is dirt. The cars or wind make a lot of dust. When raining or wet the dirt turns muddy making your shoes & suitcase dirty.
Perfect location with a view of Mt. Fuji right outside our window. The ryokan style accommodation was simple but very comfortable. The management was very trusting of their guests. You could purchase anything that is on sale and leave the money in a money box. They also provided free transfers to and from kawaguchiko bus station from 9 am. But because our bus to Kofu was going to leave at 9 am they were kind enough to drop us at 8:30am. We were very grateful.
If I could suggest any improvement it would be to have a bathroom in all blocks. Right now it’s only in blockB and one has to walk a short distance from the other blocks to have a bath. They could also provide a change of towels after a few days. It’s all right if you’re doing a short stay but not if you’re staying for a week or more with no towel change. But all said we would return to this hotel if we went back to Kawaguchiko.
The hotel is run by an elderly gentlemen, so we couldn’t reach him by e-mail when we wanted to send there our luggage, so we had to send it directly to our next location. The hotel itself is in a rather old building, so it doubtfully will be up to the most comfort-loving travelers‘ taste, but it was clean and neat, and the view from the room was amazing 😍
On the down part, since the building was old, as soon as more lodgers arrived there came a stinking smell from the bathroom with was rather unpleasant.
Also I’d suggest bringing your own slippers, since the lodgers are required to take off their shoes right from the threshold as in the most traditional Japanese houses, so if you have issues with wearing slippers worn by anybody else before you, take your own.
The futon beds were very comfy, however the blanket was rather hot for the weather (we went in April).
All in all, you get all the most necessary things like toothbrushes, bathrobes, towels. For its price it’s very nice :)
And the location is 25 min walk from Kawaguchiko station, and the walk is very nice with view of Fuji-san from many streets.
Villa Lumière is located in the Lake Yamanaka area and consists of one main building and five standalone villas. Surrounded by nature, the property is within walking distance of Lake Yamanaka.
Guest rooms feature spacious layouts and large windows that provide natural light throughout the day. Selected rooms and the second floor of the main building offer views of Mount Fuji, subject to weather conditions.
The property provides complimentary parking and is suitable for families, groups, and travelers visiting the Lake Yamanaka and Mount Fuji area.
Pro
1) clean
2) vending machine accept Alipay+
3) have microwave (at common area)
Cons
1) far from Kofu station
2) cigarette smoke from other rooms enters my room
3) not soundproof, can hear next door
4) no kettle, need to get hot water from lobby
Room type: Small European style hotel, there are tatami rooms in the room, some rooms have open-air or private style, and there are also loans and cut-out styles (chartered styles). [
• Landscape: Many guests like ”Sitting in the living room and seeing Mount Fuji”, the scenery outside the window is very good, suitable for punching in and relaxing.
• New and old equipment: the appearance of the building and the room are slightly old. Some passengers mentioned that the wallpaper cracks and the bathroom is slightly old, but the room is large and clean, and the equipment is complete.
• Note: There are many stairs, which is not suitable for people with mobility problems or pushing a lot of luggage.

WWYLIN00The host was extremely friendly and gave a thorough introduction to every corner of the guesthouse. Breakfast was also provided, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location is very convenient—it's only a 5-minute walk to the famous Lawson Mount Fuji photo spot. From my room, I could even see Mount Fuji directly. For the price, this place offers incredible value for money.
GGuest UserAn excellent experience! The environment is elegant and comfortable, and the guests are all high-quality. There's an open kitchen with great hygiene. Coffee is available daily from 8 AM to 10 AM, and other teas are self-service 24 hours a day. Guests can prepare their own meals here, and everyone is very considerate about washing and returning used utensils. The water pressure is strong, and there's plenty of hot water. The toilets are fully automated. You must change into slippers upon entering. The common areas are quiet, and people rarely speak loudly. The front desk lady, who is *********, speaks Mandarin and is very professional, friendly, and attentive. There are large and small supermarkets nearby, making it very convenient to buy food and other necessities. Bicycles are also available for rent.

GGuest UserThe hotel offers a beautiful lakeside view directly in front of Lake Shoji, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the stay. Although the property is quite old, it is well maintained and full of charming vintage Japanese character. The service was warm and attentive, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious.
The location is especially convenient for travelers driving around the Fuji area, with easy access and a comfortable overall experience. We also reserved a private onsen for bathing, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Please note that the room itself did not include a shower — only a toilet — but this matched the traditional Japanese-style ryokan experience.
Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for travelers seeking an authentic, nostalgic Japanese atmosphere with beautiful scenery and genuine hospitality.
GGuest UserFrom the room, you can see Mount Fuji. It is very fast to go to the shore of Hirano. If you want to see the morning sunshine in Jinshan, you can open the curtains to see the clarity of Mount Fuji today and then decide whether to go downstairs. There is a private bathroom in the room. The room is large and the hotel is not new overall. You have to carry your luggage upstairs without elevator. It takes7-8 minutes to drag your luggage from Hirano bus station to the hotel.
