Guest UserJust a 3-4 minute walk from Kurashiki Station South Exit, this hotel has a lovely European resort style. For a Monday, a twin room at only 330 yen is incredible value for money! The room was quite spacious, and the large public bath in the basement was also very roomy, complete with free massage chairs. You can buy tickets for the Ohara Museum of Art at the front desk for 100 yen less than at the entrance. Plus, there's an affordable supermarket right across from the hotel that's open until 11 PM – perfect for grabbing groceries! I bought a bunch of late-night snacks and breakfast for the next day, all for less than 1500 yen.

While it's a bit of a walk from the station, having so many shops nearby was a big plus. The room was clean and I was happy with it, but the breakfast, unfortunately, was quite disappointing 😢. In the small breakfast area, a staff member was constantly standing there, observing everyone. It felt like we were being watched the whole time, which made it uncomfortable and awkward to get food and eat. Despite their constant presence, no greetings or guidance were offered to guests entering the breakfast area. Given the reasonable price, I suppose I can't complain too much, but as a huge fan of breakfast buffets, I opted to eat elsewhere the following day. This breakfast venue also serves as the welcome drink area during check-in, and I was disappointed to find the floor sticky when I received my drink there.

We needed parking for this road trip, and although the hotel had some, spaces were limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Luckily, the hotel staff provided very detailed parking information for the surrounding area, which was a huge help! (A staff member with a leg injury explained it to us very carefully.) They also have a promotion every day from 6 PM to 8 PM where you can enjoy a soft drink (they also have alcohol), so don't miss it!

Guest UserParking was a little confusing. The entrance is not very obvious. It is an open space parking which you need to pay at the machine with exact change at the point of writing (validate the parking ticket at the reception to enjoy discount). 850 yen per day. I guess driving is not encouraged because it is located at the JR station. Walking distance to the different shopping areas. Room is small but clean.

The hotel's front desk staff had a good service attitude, and it's very close to Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden. However, during my stay, the air conditioning was under maintenance. Every time I manually turned on the heat, it would automatically shut off after about a minute, requiring me to manually restart it again. This led to me waking up cold in the morning. 😢

This was my first time in Okayama, and I chose this hotel. They offer free breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a buffet with both Western and Japanese options, so you can choose what you like. For dinner, there are two choices: a rotating daily set meal or a fixed curry rice dish.
The public bath is a bit small, but it's fine for about four or five people.
The hotel is about an eight-minute walk from Okayama Station. There's a Don Quijote along the way, and plenty of restaurants and izakayas nearby, so there are lots of dining options. Convenience stores are also very close.
The room I stayed in this time was quite spacious, even with my luggage open, there was still plenty of room.
I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Okayama.
The only thing to be aware of is that there are about five or six steps right after you enter, which can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

This was my second time staying at Abest Grande Hotel, and once again, the experience was excellent. The service is extremely good — all staff are very polite, welcoming, and always greet guests with a genuine smile.
We were offered a welcome drink upon arrival, which was a very nice touch. The staff were also very helpful in calling a restaurant on our behalf to assist with making a reservation, which we truly appreciated.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing a relaxing environment after a long day. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby transportation, restaurants, and shopping areas, making it a great base for exploring the city.
Overall, the hospitality made us feel very comfortable and well taken care of throughout the stay. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Guest UserThe hotel is nice and the room was clean (except for the long black hair left all over floor in the bathroom). The breakfast is just a sandwich box, there is no coffee (just instant coffee). I would expect better.
The staff is not accommodating and never seems to be in a good mood. I was also asked several times to pre-check online. After the third email reminder, I tried and the system didn’t let me complete it. But you can be sure that when I showed up at the reception that is the first thing they asked. Why don’t you have a QR code?
Also, they charge you for lockers. I have never been in an hotel where luggage storage wasn’t complementary.
The experience could be different if they improve a few things.

Guest UserThe host was as friendly as a friend, providing a lot of information about the surrounding area (nearby good restaurants and great day-trip hot springs) and island hopping, and the homemade breakfast sandwiches were rich and the coffee was delicious. The accommodation was very good, with a private bathroom, comfortable bed and bathrobes. It was a very pleasant and unforgettable stay!
