Old hotel like everywhere in Laos, “breakfast “ is some eggs and some toast and banana, that’s all you have. The room and bed are so tidy so prepare if you have big suitcases.
The landlord is very friendly, just the facilities are old

The hotel was conveniently located in the center of town, and the location was excellent. It was a little hard to find, as it was behind a tour agency and there was no sign at the entrance. It was simple and not particularly spacious, but it was nice that there were separate toilets and showers, although the showers were a little weak. The water dispenser had both hot and cold water, which was convenient. They said they didn't provide breakfast. The Wi-Fi connection was good.
Offering a garden and a terrace, Chanthavong Hostel in Luang Prabang is close to Mount Phousy and Night Market. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, and free shuttle service, along with free Wifi throughout the property. There's free private parking, and the property provides a paid airport shuttle service.
At the apartment complex, each unit is equipped with a shared bathroom.
There is a coffee shop and bar.
The apartment also features a rooftop pool and a public bath for guests to relax in. Sightseeing tours are available nearby. A car rental service is available at Chanthavong Hostel.
Popular points of interest near the accommodation include Wat Ho Xiang, Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre, and UXO Laos Visitor Center. Luang Prabang International Airport is 3.7 miles away.
The hotel is a family hotel type, the upper and lower duplex buildings, guests from all over the world, the rooms are relatively clean, the mosquitoes on the first floor, the fan and air conditioner are turned on after no effect. Breakfast is given, it is cooked to order, but it is necessary to register one night in advance. The owner also provides bicycle rental services for the accommodation guests free of charge, so there is no need to rent bicycles in the market.

I can say this place is good to stay if you are on budget. They give a good breakfast, location is walking distance to night market, Mekong riverside, restaurant, convenient store, they provide towel, shampoo and body soap, they serve good coffee and lobby where you can rest from long walk. Thanks to friendly Ms.Tian and her team.
Very nice hostel, cool and easy communication, great service, kind employees, no problems, and everything was clean. Would go back again, big recommendation.
It's ok for solo traveler. The slow and limited wifi was never fixed as promised I realized that it was slow probably because the staff is obsessed with their phones, unsure if it's games or whatever. The owner said they've been open for 6 months, staff is young and polite but are inexperienced and focused on their phones even when dealing with my requests or questions. The thin pads on the bed platform is uncomfortable , walls are thin and music can go on pass 11pm.
Also Trip.com algorithm seems to keep changing pricing, the p4ice is different if I'm renewing vs launching a new search, irritating and annoying.
Overall, good value for money.
I like the wooden style and the warmth and security brought by the locked door of the homestay.
The price is still very good.
The problem is that it is far away from the center, and we rely on bamboo bridges during dry seasons. After the bamboo bridges are gone, we mainly look at the feeder boats. The boats leave very late in the morning, and taxis in Laos are very expensive, which is always inconvenient. It doesn't matter if you rent a car.
The room is small, but the hygiene is good.
Bedding was torn. Bathroom shower and toilet cannot be separated.
Really great hotel for the price, we ended up extending our stay twice.
The room was big, with hair dryer, mini fridge, outside seating, towels and shampoo/shower gel.
WiFi was strong, water got super hot really quickly.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, not much English but we used translate app where needed.
Location is about 20/30min walk from the main centre, but there are a lot of restaurants and coffee/tea places along the way.
The room itself was clean and tidy, there were some bed sheets in the closet in a pile that was quite random but as the ones on the bed were clean we weren’t bothered.
With a stay at GuChuan Guesthouse, you'll be all set to unwind after a day of travel.
Experience the flavors of Chinese cuisine at the on-site restaurant.
At this guest house, you'll also find facilities including a garden. This property also offers free luggage storage.
When driving to the property, you can use the free parking lot.

Very Good
YYeeMonThe room is pretty clean and the atmosphere is very pleasant. An absolute 5 stars for location because it’s close to everywhere and you can just walk around if you like. I only have an issue with their tour service. I booked a private tuk tuk to Kuang Si waterfall and everything was fine. However, for the Pak Ou Cave and whiskey village tour, I paid 250k kip as you can see on the receipt. As per the receptionist who helped me booked, the price included all the transportation fees such as pick up from the villa and boat ride. On the day itself, the tuk tuk came 10 mins late to pick me up and waited for other people to arrive at the pier. For your information, from the villa to the pier is about 7 mins ride. After a while, I got on the boat and a staff asked another 30k kip for the ride. And there wasn’t any pick up at the pier when I got back from the cave. So basically, it’s like I paid 250k kip for the 7 mins tuk tuk ride and I wanted to clarify about that. But I didn’t get to meet the same receptionist until I checked out. Overall, it was a total scam and a waste of money. If you are planning to stay there, try not to use those services as they are so overpriced and not worth the money at all.
SSempornaLocated at a central to go the night market and also along the Mekong River. Very quiet and splendid hotel. Opposite is the Huean Chan Historic House museum and a Spa massage centres. Adjacent is the main road and easily accessible to ATM to withdraw cash. Local food stalls and coffee bars are abundant here.
Staff are helpful and my room is clean and change towels everyday. This is an thumbs up to the room service staff. One of the amenities you have to bring is your tooth brush and your tooth paste. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay at thatsaphone hotel.

GGuest UserWe loved Ock Pop Top. All of the staff were so friendly and made us very welcome. Especially Mr Duan who helped us arrange a slow boat and Mr Noi and Mr Air who gave my partner lots of tips for local fishing. We only stayed 1 night but we will be coming back for sure. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. You can learn a lot about Hmong crafts which is very interesting. The food and drink is delicious, I recommend the tamarind margaritas! The rooms are beautiful and full of eco friendly amenities like mosquito spray, shampoo, soap etc and locally crafted decor. The balcony rooms facing the Mekong are amazing. The location is out of the town centre but they offer a free shuttle service via tuk tuk, you may have to wait a while but you can relax in the bar while you wait. The sunset from the restaurant is amazing but be aware that between 5:30-6:30 the mosquitoes come out in full force! Cover up or bring the spray from your room and keep topping up.
GGuest UserLuang Prabang is very small. You can walk to everything. The location is really good. It is right by the Mekong River. There are restaurants, massages and all kinds of food around. It is very close to the night market and Puxi Mountain. The most important thing is that the boss is a kind and enthusiastic Chaoshan handsome man. In the evening, I had a drink and chat with friends from all over the world under the warm hospitality of the boss. I made a lot of friends. There is also a cute little dog, who is very enthusiastic. My daughter had a lot of fun.
GGuest UserSpotless clean and friendly staff, the hotel is located at around 15 minutes walk from downtown. They dispose of free bikes that can be used to roam around town, the place is quiet and with good vibes around the place.

MMsMaiThe hostel is well located and within walking distance of major sites. It is close to a minimarket and a few restaurants. Beds are big, and breakfasts are included in the already very affordable price. The owner is very helpful and hilarious. When I came and was really starving, he offered to cook something for me. As I was worried about not being able to book a car ride to the airport, he eventually drove me there on his scooter. He is very chatty and willing to share his enriching living expériences.
GGuest UserWe loved our stay here !
The Guesthouse is an old wooden building with a lot of character and charm. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful, and they spoke good English which helped a lot.
There is a nice communal balcony that we enjoyed spending time on, with free cold water, hot water, and tea & coffee.
We were also able to book a motorbike rental & organise our transport to the train station via the guesthouse which was also really helpful.
We highly recommend this place !
