Hotel is on the West Exit (bus to Zao/Sendai is on the East Exit) but is less than 10 minutes walk and feels more quiet. Rooms were good size and there were free drinks and ice cream in the lobby from the afternoon. There is a 24 hour supermarket behind the hotel, only negative is, there is no proper crossing in front of the hotel.

The hotel is in a good location. You can go to any attraction by walk. There is a dedicated parking lot near the hotel. The waiter was very attentive in explaining to us how to drive to and use the parking lot. The hotel lobby is beautifully designed. The breakfast is of good quality, rich and delicious.

I had a hot spring, a meal, and a slow meal. It was delicious and there was a volume. To leave, I was able to get the snow of the car and the snow around the car. I've never had an inn that I've been doing so far. I was happy until the end. The ski area was also close and I enjoyed it quite a bit! Thank you very much!

Overall it's very clean. Although the room is a bit small, the bed is quite big. It won't be too crowded for two people to sleep in. The water in the bathroom is a bit small, and the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are quite fragrant.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, staff is friendly and helpful. Limited parking space surrounding the hotel, but they got you covered, just check with the staff and they will sort it out for you. Accommodation comes with free breakfast, and it's really amazing, you will be surprised by the varieties they served.

Small and clean, but the air vent kept making weird knocking noises throughout the night and there's nothing the staff could do to fix that. Seems like those knocking noises came from the wind backflowing into the vents or something? Couldn't get a good night's sleep at all. Nonetheless the staff was very patient with my questions. There's a public bath on the first floor, but it's disappointingly small with only four showers, and the onsen pool gets crowded with only five persons in it.

WWith my shutterIt is a very comfortable place to stay, like being at home. A large hotel. The location for those with cars is good. It is located on a fairly high slope, but it is right next to ski slope number 3. From the hotel, you can walk out to the side and slide down to the ski slope. The advantage is that it is convenient here. The disadvantage is that I do not have a car. At night, I have to go up and down the slope quite far from the main road. But I can walk comfortably because the weather is cold. Pros and cons The hotel has private and public hot springs. The public hot spring is free. Very good. I soaked every day. Book breakfast and dinner. It is delicious and very worthwhile. The hotel has a free shuttle service until 5:30 p.m. If anyone travels, please inform the hotel to pick you up. It is very good.

NNetotrevinoWoah! This is one of the best ryokans we’ve been to. The staff was super attentive and could speak some English, the rooms were amazing (see the photos!). The onsen in the room was fantastic so there was no need for us to go to the public or private onsen downstairs. The hotel is located 3 minutes away from the bus station and conveniently situated near everything. We’ve stayed at other ryokans but this one was top notch! We strongly recommend to stay at this place and will try to come back again with friends and family. Oh! The food was wow, too! We had breakfasts and dinners included and the sukiyaki dinner offered Yamagata A5 meat which was to die for. Breakfast was also great!

AAnonymous UserWhen I made the reservation, there were only a few rooms left. I sent an email to the hotel to ask if it was possible to accommodate three people in a room, as I wanted to add more people, but the hotel did not respond. Later, when I arrived at the hotel, I had to ask my friend to book a hotel nearby. Because the location is very remote and we arrived late, the room we bought included dinner, but the hotel was unwilling to give it to an extra friend to dine together. They were also very strict. Even if we wanted to pay, they were unwilling to give us an extra seat to dine together. They even wanted to kick our friends out. When we asked our friends to stay in the room, someone would come to the room and knock on the door to kick us out. The experience on the first day was not very good. We are very polite guests and we don't make noise or disturb other guests, but it is hard to understand how the hotel treats guests. Still keep saying だめだめだめ

Amazing
II JuWe had an absolutely an amazing stay in Tedoso. First, the hot spring there is amazing. We had never felt so relaxed in a hot spring before. The hot water and the cold weather is completely in harmony. Second, the service is sooooooo nice. They always welcomed us and out in a lot more effort than they needed to. Third, the environment is astounding. The Japanese style and the room is way beyond our expectations. The hotel is so neat and delicate, which made us feel like we’re in a whole new world. Last, the food is spectacular. We had food ranging from big and juicy pieces of sukiyaki beef to nicely cut and flavored sashimi. Our experience at this hotel is exquisite, and the price is highly reasonable, our family highly recommend you to visit Tendoso and give it a try. I’m sure you and your family would have a remarkable experience.

GGuest UserVery close to Yamagata Station, but on the other side of Yamagata Station which is not very busy. Overall, the transportation is very convenient. The hotel has a high occupancy rate. When I went there, it happened to be a Japanese holiday, and even the buffet restaurant had a queue. The room was much better than the one I stayed in Morioka the day before. The bedding was very comfortable. The room was not too small. There is also an artificial hot spring on the top floor, the 14th floor, to take a bath and relieve the cold. This price has free breakfast, artificial hot springs, and this location, which is already a very good value for money. I will stay here again when I come to Yamagata in the future! In addition, I am grateful that there are sanitary napkins in the women's bathroom on the ground floor of the hotel for check-out guests, which really saves many girls who suddenly have their period. The details are perfect.

RRosina KimIt’s quite a big hotel, 3 buildings are connected and there are many rooms. The rooms are a bit outdated but still maintained well. Service was good and flexible. Transportation to the village is quite necessary when the roads are covered by snow, especially with luggage. They have free shuttle bus which is great. Best parts: 1. Dinner semi-buffet has unlimited alcoholic beverages including local sake, draft beer and wines. 2. Ski & board rental shop is right outside of the hotel. Although hotel only accept cash for the lift ticket, you can rent the gear (rental shop accepts credit card) and ski down the hill (20sec) to the cable ticket counter to buy ticket, pay by credit card. The location has lifts 5,6 and cable 4

GGuest UserThis Ryokan was amazing! The rooms were comfortable and very traditional. The room was equipped with an air-conditioner/heater and a kotatsu table, which is a Japanese heated table. The location it wonderful, the hotel is surrounded by resturants and bars. And the owners are the sweetest and kindest couple I've met. When we visited it was cold and rainy, and we thought we had to walk to the train station, when we asked the owner to call us a taxi, he went outside and pulled up in his personal car to drive us there! Besides the very difficult to aquire taste of natto, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everything about my stay here was fantastic! I would absolutely recommend this ryokan!

AAnonymous UserThere was a little bit of a problem with the pick-up at Zao Onsen Station at the beginning. The operator's English was not very good, but we were finally picked up! Then the hotel is relatively old, but very clean! On the last day when we were about to leave, we asked if we needed to pick up guests at the station, and then they just helped us to pick up at the station, so the round-trip pick-up service was very good!

GGazing EyesAfter reading the introduction of this hot spring hotel, Zaimu Sakaeya Hotel was once a hotel in a logging camp and a timber wholesaler with a history of more than 100 years. The entire hot spring hotel uses a large amount of logs for decoration and construction, which is very unique. The single room I stayed in was very new and very clean. Breakfast is a set meal, and miso soup, tea, drinks, etc. are also provided. At this price, it's a great value. Since there is no shuttle bus, it takes about 15 minutes to walk from Kaminoyama Onsen Station to Zaiki Sakaeya.
