The hotel was located right in the center of Bergen. Although there was reception staff we had to pick up the hotel key in a box another time (went well but was a bit strange I think). In the hallway itself there was a slightly strange smell. But the room itself was perfectly fine. There is a lot to do in the center of Bergen if you want it. Lots of dining areas / bars etc. We did not get breakfast there due to. we woke up today (May 17), which in Norway is considered a Sunday. Then they did not have breakfast there. So we had to take another place. What was minus it was that they did NOT have luggage storage there. So there the hotel has something they need to fix right away.

Was greeted by a very nice receptionist when I checked in. He saw that I was a member of their chain and offered me the benefits it provides. Then gave the information I needed and explained the way to the elevator. All with kindness and a big smile. It gave a very good start to a good stay. Asked at check in for room with view and high up. I got it in room 616 which had a balcony. I think most rooms do not have a balcony or that view. So a tip is to ask and if they are available, you will get enough. The room was clean. And that's the most important thing for me. Not very big and the bathroom was even smaller. But it is more than enough for two people visiting this city. Even though the room is clean, it appears to be somewhat worn over time. You can see it on the scraped panel stove, scraper and other things on the walls, the bedding has some smaller holes and is worn (but comfortable to sleep in). When there are better times for the hotel industry, it would not cost much to raise the standard a little. Breakfast has everything you need, but does not appear very exciting. You can see there are some measures taken that raise it from basic, and there is a lot of staff at work. But it's a long way up to the city's best breakfast and there is constantly empty for some products during the breakfast. Then it is important to know that the Comfort hotels at Nordic Choice Hotels are the most affordable. I have often stayed in Quality hotels in the past and the standard is one notch or two up. So for what you pay here for the rooms with breakfast it is very good value! And the very best value here is those who work here. Whether it is night guards, cleaners or others. There are always positive answers if you want something. And accompanying smile. Otherwise there is a bar here if you wish. And from Bybanen it may be around 10-15 minutes to walk. So it is centrally located in Bergen. Can definitely recommend this hotel for the price against the standard one gets.

The location is great, right in the centre of Reykjavík, 5 minutes walk to reach the main attractions. The room was clean and tidy and there was a complimentary breakfast offered which was great.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. Self check-in/out. Min human interaction. Location is not bad. Near the Skyss stop. There's a supermarket across the building. A bit further there's a Rema 1000. The room is small. Two sides of the bed are agaisnt the wall. There are about 80cm space between the bed and each sides of the walls. There is a long table along the wall on one side and a puff. This really crowds the room. Don't bring big luggage here, there is not enough space. No TV. The window cannot be opened. The bathroom is a nice surprise. It is spacious, as big as the bedroom area, with heated floor. The common room is quite spacious, right next to the restaurant. The restaurant downstairs is quite busy. Breakfast is available for extra fee. You can find microwave, fridge, kettle, and paper utensils in the common room. Coffee vending machine is also here. Overall this is a good budget hotel, good value hotel.

The first thing to say is to praise the staff; both by email in advance, and in person, they were super helpful and friendly. Inside, the building is undergoing renovation. Whilst the corridors are still a work in progress, our apartment had been recently redecorated and was nicely decorated. There are nice modern touches, too; plenty of sockets, a smart TV, good WiFi. The location is good, and there's washer/drier facilities for use (seemingly for free, but the welcome sheet suggested there may be a cost). However, things quickly fall apart. Presented with apparently endless, unmarked light switches, we can only conclude the electrics were designed by a machiavellian evil genius. Highlights include a switch that does nothing, and the bathroom light you can only turn on by turning on all the lights in the entire apartment. The kitchen appliances are tired, and clearly haven't been replaced along with the rest of the internal. The kettle lid didn't shut, and the coffee machine had no lid meaning it wouldn't brew without being jerry rigged open with a spoon. The kitchen fan, even when 'off' is incredibly loud, and as the bedroom and kitchen all join onto one another, it will definitely impact a light sleeper. Much of this would be easily rectifiable and would have made the stay much better.

Great hotel with a 100+ years history in Odda. The perfect place to stay if you want to spend some time locally in Odda or want a base camp for exploring all the attractions in the area like Trolltunga, Buerbreen, Cider farms, Folgefonna, Fjord Cruises, one of the many festivals and much more. The host is from the original family of owners, is very friendly, and has slowly but surely restored the hotel inside since he bought it back 27 years ago. He has invested and restored the rooms, built an extra floor on top with large Superior Rooms with a great view from the balconies. He is also an avid art collector and throughout the hotel, you will find a lot of great art on display. The hotel operates as a bed and breakfast, with a popular bar in addition to the core services. From time to time, they also offer cultural events. Across the street, you will find the best gourmet dining in Odda at Agas Bistro.

Very well situated near the Fish Market and city center. There are stores and restaurants behind the hotel as well as a grocery store just down the road. Not modern but has most of the things you need in the room and bathroom. Bring ear plugs and an eye mask if you're a light sleeper since it's close to the wharf and a busy street. Our airline lost our luggage so we had no clothes for 5 days. The free washer/dryer on the 4th floor saved us! The hotel has nice touches like free tea/coffee in a side lobby area, as well as a small wine/beer bar at reception (not the Altona bar next door). The breakfast is pretty great and even has vegan options (mostly carbs). The staff is attentive and helpful. If you're looking for somewhere economical and close to the city center, I recommend this place.

It was awful and not worth the money. Not worth a 4 star rating! We call this in Dutch: gone glory. It probably had its days, but has been neglected and needs a very high investment to get it back on track. Let me share our experience with you: The arrival (hospitality): When arriving we entered the hotel. It all looked nice in the lobby. There were no people at the reception except for two staff members. These teo guys were behind a single computer together. We were waiting at the desk, with two heavy bags on our back. After 10 minutes waiting (and another person entering the queue) I decided to take my heavy backpack off. Then he asked me if he could help me. It was quite rude. But that’s not it…… We got our cards and went to the room. The stairwell looks like that of a hostel. You know, the one you pay 25 Euros or dollars per night for, where you went to when you were 17-18 years old. The windows were utterly filthy (like in your dorm). And when I entered the room, the electricity circuit was the same as it probably was in 1961. I would declare it to be unsafe if I were a fireman. I know a hairdryer qualifies for points to get stars, but….. does it have to be hanging in the area of the wardrobe? In this case yes! Because there is no electricity available in the bathroom (or anywhere close to a mirror). So we charged our iPhones, but needed to take the lamps out first. No other piints of electricity. The bathroom; It has white tiles, a shower curtain, a shower head dating from the nineties. My student dorm was way more luxurious. There were black hairs on the floor (since I have long blond hair, they couldn’t have been instantly mine). The ceiling is made of glassfiber wall wallpaper, which probably was necessary to hide the fungus, due to bad ventilation. And be able to paint over and over again. Then there's the balcony. The doors probably have been painted in the early 2000’s for the last time. And when looking at the view, it’s like going back to east Germany before the wall fell. But then with a nice lake and beautifull mountains to fill the view. I booked this hotel on our way back to get some rest, and make sure we would travel back home fit and well rested. Well……… The neighbours on the right were trying to maximize the beats per minute they could generate together by bouncing the bed very agressively to the wall for some reason, and enjoyed making funny noises, one usually hears when wat hung nature movies. The neighbours on the left found it the right time to start a heavy debate, don’t know what about, but it lasted for hours. The neighbours above really liked doing some chair moving aerobics. They probably needed to achieve their Fitbit goal on steps needed, to met their target. Well, at around mid ight, the hotel went quiet. Check out: When we checked out, I gave my cards to the receptionist. She said: thank you and have a nice day. I asked my son:”what didn’t she ask, what is usually being asked when you check ou

Pros : • Modern and spacious hotel • Great room with kitchen • Free parking • Free breakfast room and good breakfast buffet Cons : • No AC (but we didn't need that) • Maybe some “extraordinary” but not the room. This modern building in a S-shaped style is located on the Roldal Lake just outside the small center of Roldal and near the ski area. I suspect that the focus is on skiing in the winter period: we were here in mid-June and the hotel was not half-full yet. All rooms in the 3-verdiepingen hotel have views of the Roldalmeer, except the residential tower behind the S-shaped building (which I am not sure is still part of the hotel). The hotel is located on the E134 connection road between Oslo and Stavanger and gets some traffic but this is still best. Free parking, covered or not. 1 lift. Our standard room 212 was a large studio (30m2) with laminated parquet, seating corner, dining corner, kitchenette and large balcony with beautiful view of the Roldal Lake. The separate bedroom was small with the right place for a double bed ... really only intended to sleep. All proper and comfortable. We paid this cancelable room for 1 night including all charges and breakfast about € 175. The restaurant is pleasant and light with a pleasant atmosphere. A reasonable breakfast buffet in the morning and a limited but tasteful map in the evening. And remember: the very friendly staff ... in Norway not abnormal but here exceptionally! When weather is warm, the covered open-air lounge is a pleasant place to relax in a seat.
