Honest review as recent guest of Promenade service apartment, it's highly recommended! The place was clean and tidy, easy to locate, conveniently close to the city, restaurant and variety of convenient shop. Not to mention their excellent customer service by the receptionist. There was a guy in dark coloured coat (i believe he was the superior) and a receptionist upon checking in, and upon checking out, the female customer service (who i believe are also a superior) attended us. They were very helpful, warm and friendly while delivering service. We are very thankful and satisfied with the service given by the property. Overall, it was a wonderful experience staying there. Thank you so much! Deeply appreciated đđ
P/S : Sorry, the pic have nothing to do with the apartmentđ

Accomodation was clean, room size reasonable. However it lacks a refrigerator and when we first check in, was surprised no toiletries was supplied in spite of what was stated in the amenities list. Had to look for reception to collect body soup, toothbrushes but they have no hair shampoo.
Location was good, next to Imago, Kk market, eateries, next to a 24 laundry mart and reception was very helpful.
Would still recommend if looking for a clean, value for money room.
The room was very clean and tidy. Uncle William was very kind. I asked not to have a corner room, but my room was the first one when I checked in. And the room smelled delicious! I had taken several flights to get to Tawau, and then a bus to Semporna. I was exhausted and it was very hot. The air conditioner was already on when I entered the room, so it was super cool! So thoughtful! Uncle William was very kind and helpful during my stay. The next day, when I came back from island hopping, I was targeted by a durian vendor at the pier, and it was Uncle William who helped me solve the problem. The world is treacherous, and Uncle William's help made me feel very warm in a foreign country. 𼰠The best thing I did was book this hotel! If I come again, I will definitely choose this hotel again.

We booked an executive family room. It was exceptionally spacious, featuring two large 2-meter beds and a beautiful sea view.
The hotel is situated directly above Shuguang Department Store, making its location incredibly convenient. You can find numerous dining options and a supermarket just by heading downstairs. Even better, taking the elevator to the third floor leads you directly to Ya Yan restaurant and another supermarket. This means you literally don't need to step outside the building for meals or daily necessities, which is a huge plus!
The only minor downside was the breakfast. It's served on the 7th floor, and you have to walk through a section of the parking garage to get there, which felt a bit unusual. Additionally, the breakfast itself wasn't particularly tasty.

⢠Cool & Peaceful Atmosphere â Located in Mesilau at high altitude, offering fresh air, quiet surroundings, and a nature escape.
⢠Comfortable Rooms â Spacious, clean, and many with private balconies to enjoy the scenery.

⢠Friendly & Helpful Staff â Known for warm hospitality and accommodating special requests.

You can enjoy breakfast at the hotelâs restaurant while watching the morning mist roll over Mount Kinabalu right from your table.

The owner David is very friendly and accommodating. The unit is clean, well-maintained, and in an excellent location. Love their Seaview room and the infinity seaview swimming pool đ It is within walking distance to Suria Sabah Shopping Mall and Jesselton Ferry Terminal, making it a convenient choice for travelers. Highly recommended and will come back again đđ
Very satisfied, the sound insulation is very good, I slept very soundly after a day of sightseeing, and the shower water was also very clean. However, the breakfast in the morning was not as I expected. The air conditioner sometimes made a little water noise, and the washing machine required a local bank card to pay for washing and drying clothes, which was a bit troublesome. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The homestay booked in Kota Kinabalu with his wife and her two sisters, the new real estate but it is indeed some distance from the pier. The rooms are clean and the facilities are new, and there is a night market downstairs.
My room had a beautiful and relaxing view. Every morning, I woke up to the stunning sight of Mount Kinabalu right outside the window. The place is very child-friendly, with safe and fun areas for kids to play. Itâs perfect for a family getaway, as everything is well-suited for both adults and children. The surrounding scenery is peaceful and green, making the whole stay feel calm and refreshing. The cool weather added to the comfort, making it a really enjoyable trip. And for sure, the staff were very kind and helpful, which made the experience even better.
The homestay is very close to the tourist center. It feels particularly convenient to start a day trip to the island. There is a seafood market nearby, and it is convenient to eat and drink. Next to Watsons, a convenience store, you can buy anything you lack. But the facilities are a bit old, the shower leaks, the toilet board is bad, but the price is cheap. There is a washing machine inside, it is really convenient to come back from the island! The clothes are dry for a day, it feels very fresh, it is really recommended! Otherwise, the clothes are dry and smelly.

Very Good
LLimThe only reason I stayed here was because of it location near to the airport. Everything else is good in terms of experience except I was imposed with liability costing RM10 for soiling one piece of their towel. The soiling happened because I walked outside after the rain and my foot got into a mud spot. I came back to my room and I accidentally stepped on the towel. Bear in mind, I had to book their largest room meant for 4 pax because that was the only one available even though I stayed alone. Considering the occupancy is low for that large room, soiling one piece of towel does not justify a RM10 liability damage.
BBarathi*Honest Review: Comfortable Stay but Disappointing Service Transparency*
Me and a group of colleagues chose Wendu Inn during our recent work trip to Kota Belud, and Iâd like to share an honest reviewânot just a general star ratingâbecause the experience was a mix of excellent and disappointing aspects.
Pros: đđđđđ
⢠The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
⢠Cleanliness and room comfort are top-notchâdefinitely 5-star worthy, especially for a small town like Kota Belud.
⢠The view from the cafÊ and the convenience of having a minimart downstairs were truly added bonuses.
⢠We genuinely appreciated the effort put into making the place cozy and welcoming.
But here comes the downside:
We booked our rooms with breakfast included, which is supposed to be served at their cafĂŠ. However, this was where things went wrong.
1ď¸âŁ When we went for breakfast, there was no proper display or explanation about the free breakfast options. What was openly displayed was a menu with both breakfast (no prices shown) and lunch items (with prices).
The actual complimentary breakfast choices were hidden away in a folder behind the counterânot visible to guests. Naturally, thinking the displayed breakfast options were part of our package, we made our choices and presented our coupons at the counter. The staff accepted the coupons without saying a word. Only after finishing our meals were we surprised with a bill, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated.
2ď¸âŁ The counter staffâs customer service was below expectations.
When we requested an official receipt for work claims, we were repeatedly told to refer to the booking website. Even after explaining that we needed an original stamped receipt, the answer was simply: âWe donât have an original stamp.â
For a hotel catering to business travelers, this lack of basic documentation support is quite inconvenient.
Final thoughts:
Would I recommend Wendu Inn? Yesâfor comfort, cleanliness, and its peaceful surroundings.
But be prepared to double-check details around your package (especially meals), and donât expect much assistance from the front desk when it comes to paperwork or clarifications.

GGuest UserItâs similar to hotels/guesthouses in China, and much simpler than domestic budget hotel chains such as Home Inns or GreenTree Inn. Hotels in Sabah generally feel two stars lower than those in China. The one I stayed in in Kota Kinabalu is owned by Marriott The Le MĂŠridien hotel is also comparable to domestic All Seasons hotels, so donât expect too much.
The sanitation is quite clean, and there are often people chanting sutras with loud speakers in the morning and evening... overall it's not bad.
It is two kilometers away from the pier and takes a taxi for 6-8RM. You can go to the seafood market to bargain for dragon knives, which is quite fun!
GGuest UserStayed in a shared dorm. Walking distance to RDC a little further than other options but perfectly manageable. Dorm and bathrooms were clean and as advertised. Not much space to put stuff but you get what you pay for with a shared dorm. Food and drinks options at the restaurant are expensive and for several meals I opted to eat at nearby resorts which were cheaper. Nevertheless, the atmosphere at the reception/restaurant was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. Staff were extremely hospitable and helpful. No shelter between reception and rooms was a bit of a bummer but no big deal. Wifi only available at the reception. Overall, great value for the price.
AAmyLCAmazing location for the sunbears and Orangutan Sanctuary, just 5 minutes on foot. The pool here is a nice relief from the heat, however there are only about 10 sunbeds and then some seating along the wall, so at times there was nowhere to sit and relax by the pool which was a shame. The room was big, the balcony overlooked jungle type gardens and lots of wildlife could be seen/heard. Tea&coffee was available in the rooms, along with bottled water each day. Food in the restaurant was average. The gardens were beautiful, would stay again.
BBAL.RSure! Here's a **single, concise review** of a vacation at **Kundasang Mount Garden**:
---
**âA peaceful mountain escape with stunning viewsâ**
I stayed at Kundasang Mount Garden for a short getaway, and it was a refreshing break from city life. The scenery was absolutely breathtakingâMount Kinabalu right in view, misty mornings, and cool, crisp air all day. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed, including a small kitchen and private balcony.
The garden outside is lovely, with flowers, vegetables, and even a little stream. Itâs very quiet and perfect for relaxing. However, getting there was a bit trickyâthe road is narrow and steep, so Iâd recommend using a 4WD. Also, the hot water was a bit unreliable
RRon31aOverall the trip is quite nice, only the fan can be squeaky, but air conditioning works fine, bathroom is okay, only the water heater knob can be sometimes not functioning. Parking space can be find easily
PPilgrimaaa_The hotel room was clean. Amenities provided are shampoo and body soap. The location from the town area is quite central. It's easy to park a car, not a busy road. It's located at the back of Plaza Shell. A water dispenser is the only thing missing from the hotel, so next time when you want to stay, make sure to buy one drinking water for yourself. Anyway there are convenience stores nearby the hotel.
