simple room with one queen bed. just nice for 1-2 pax and maybe 1-2 nights. good location and have plenty of parking spaces. i love that they have a good functioning water heater and kettle in the room. would stay again

Stayed for one night at Wendu Inn Hotel, Kota Belud and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Although this is a budget-friendly hotel, the room comes with a large 65-inch Smart TV, which is something I have not even found in some 4- or 5-star hotels in Kota Kinabalu. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. The toilet was also clean and in good condition. Another plus point is the convenience of the surrounding facilities. Within the same building area, there is a mart selling essential items at reasonable prices, a stationery shop, a mini café, and a self-service laundry. Public toilets are also available, making the area feel like a small and convenient rest stop for travellers. One thing to note is that the hotel only has one floor and does not have a lift. However, this was not an issue for me, but it may be something to consider for guests who specifically require elevator access. Overall, excellent value for money, clean facilities, and very convenient amenities. I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Kota Belud. Rating: 5/5

My husband and I stayed here in a standard double room during our trip to Kundasang. The room was spacious enough for the two of us, with plenty of space to open our luggages comfortably. It was also well equipped with sufficient hangers, two mugs, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer, which made our stay more convenient. The highlight of this hotel was definitely the stunning view of Mount Kinabalu. Waking up to such a beautiful landscape was unforgettable, and the breakfast area also offered the same amazing view, making the morning meal even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, with a decent variety including toast, nasi goreng, sausages, baked beans, sunny-side-up eggs, cereal, Sabah tea, coffee, and cordial. Unfortunately, housekeeping could be improved. There were quite a few spider webs under the hanger area where guests would naturally place their shoes, which gave the impression that the room hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. We also spotted a baby cockroach crawling out from the bed, which was disappointing and affected our overall comfort. Overall, the beautiful mountain views, friendly staff, and satisfying breakfast made for a pleasant stay, but the cleanliness issues need attention. With better housekeeping, this hotel would provide a much better experience.

Good location. The room was huge. Can fit us 4 adults with 2 king beds. But it is just the toilets we don’t like. If possible can change the door. It can be seen throughly from the glass door but luckily the toilets are on the side of the room

Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort – 2-nights Solo Stay Stayed 2 nights in the dorm as a solo traveller. The room was spacious, comfortable, and air-conditioning worked very well. The resort’s restaurant has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices – highly recommended! Highlight: Reception staff Boy and Pi Pi were extremely friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with questions and travel arrangements. Highly appreciated! Suggestions: • Bathroom cleanliness could be improved; trash wasn’t emptied daily and toilet paper ran out. • It would be convenient to have drinking water (hot & cold) near the dorm, especially at night.

Prior to making the reservation, I had reviewed numerous negative online comments, primarily concerning issues with the air-conditioning and bathroom facilities. As a result, I contacted the hotel directly to seek clarification. The front desk staff assured me that I would be allocated a room without such problems and stated that it was designated for foreign guests and had not received any complaints. Relying on this assurance, I proceeded to book a twin-bed room. Upon check-in, we were required to carry our luggage to the third floor due to the absence of an elevator, and no assistance was offered by the staff. Although the room layout was acceptable, it was poorly maintained, with visible damage to the headboard. On the third evening, after returning to the hotel during heavy rain, we discovered that the shower was not functioning properly, with no water supply initially and only minimal cold water later. Despite being informed that a technician would attend to the matter at 11:00 p.m., no assistance was provided even after 11:25 p.m. Subsequently, the air-conditioning unit began leaking water. When I requested a room change, the staff initially declined, citing a lack of availability. Only after I insisted on speaking to the manager or owner was a replacement room, free from these issues, finally provided. I am extremely disappointed with this hotel, as it is evident that management has failed to take previous guest feedback seriously or implement necessary improvements despite repeated online complaints.

I had a peaceful place. The place is beautiful and close to the orangutan centre. However, even though I paid for a private room, I did not have and AC in the room, It was quite difficult to sleep because of the heat. That wasn't nice at all. Then I moved to a cheaper hostel somewhere else in a private room and I had a AC paying less. Please you should invest in AC for all the rooms, it's quite hot in there.

The location is very strategic, but the road leading to it is quite challenging due to ongoing construction, making it bumpy and rough. Overall, it's decent for the price and comfortable.

There are markets, supermarkets, department stores, and many restaurants nearby. The only downside is the loud karaoke noise from next door. The room itself is quite nice, clean, and well-maintained!

Very nice staff. Good location. Clean, Qiet. Peacfull. Ment to stay 2 day, but keep extending my stay. After all I stayed there week. Hostel offering transwers to the Tawau airport for 30 myr.
